Back in the hospital room, Jin Di finally woke up.
Simon, of course, wasted no time dumping every detail into his sir boss's ears.
"What?" Jin Di's fury erupted instantly.
He strode out into the hallway and confronted the subordinate assigned to guard Elena. His voice cut like a blade, cold and sharp.
"This is the private wing. How did someone manage to take photos under your watch?"
The subordinate bowed deeply, apologizing without excuse. His face remained disciplined and impassive, but sweat glistened at his temples.
Jin Di was about to continue when slender arms wrapped around his waist from behind, pressing softly into his back.
"Jin Di, that's enough," Elena said quietly. "Don't scold him anymore. It's not his fault."
"But—"
"Jin Di… darling, please stop."
The word darling disarmed him completely.
"Okay," he said immediately, the anger dissolving as if it had never existed.
