She paused, eyes thoughtful. "If the Bais became a liability, he wouldn't hesitate to cut them loose. Family friends or not, no one is worth dragging Jin Corporation into the mud."
The second friend smiled faintly. "You seem to have a high opinion of Jin Di."
Feng Wan shrugged lightly. "It's just observation. Or perhaps the Bais' proposals were simply terrible. That's also possible."
The group laughed softly.
After a moment, the first friend circled back to the earlier topic. "Do you think the Bai girl had a hand in the hate campaign against Elena?"
"Yes," the second friend replied without hesitation.
The Chief's wife nodded in agreement.
"It wouldn't surprise me," Feng Wan said evenly. "There were rumors linking Elena and Jin Yang before, and I recall an incident where the Bai girl publicly accused Elena of being 'the other woman'. That alone suggests resentment."
The others murmured their agreement.
