Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Graduation Ceremony Begins

"Seriously, what were you thinking? Hotpot has such a strong smell, you were practically begging to get caught."

Eating secretly after lights out is one thing, but eating hotpot? Not catching you would be an insult to your provocation.

"It was almost two in the morning, and we figured the old man would be asleep by then. We specifically went to the balcony and opened the windows, thinking that even if the smell was strong, it would dissipate overnight. Who would've thought the old man couldn't sleep and was just wandering around our balcony area?"

Feng Kai rubbed his face hard. Looking at it that way, it really did seem like they had deliberately provoked the dorm supervisor.

"Let's not talk about sad things. Are you guys coming tonight?"

Not wanting to dwell on the topic, Feng Kai continued to ask.

"If Xiao Xiao goes, I'll go."

This time, it was Lu Li, sitting next to Gu Xiao, who spoke first, her attitude clear.

Whether she went or not depended on whether Gu Xiao went.

"Come on, Sister Xiao, this might really be the last time we see each other. After this, we'll be scattered across the world, and it's hard to say if we'll ever get together again."

Although most people return to their hometowns after graduating from university, there are always some exceptionally talented individuals who develop their careers elsewhere.

Moreover, this is the interstellar era, and it's not impossible to leave Planet Azure and live on other planets.

"Never mind coming or not, would the school even allow us to mess around late at night?"

Even though their high school lives were over, the first and second-year students were still attending classes normally.

"How can you call it messing around? We'll go to the sports field, far from the dormitories."

"And I've already discussed it with Brother Hou. As long as we don't disturb the junior students' rest, it's totally okay."

As soon as the idea came to him two days prior, Feng Kai had gone to talk to Hou Yong.

They weren't the first students to want to do this, so Hou Yong readily agreed, on the condition that they absolutely must not disturb the junior students' rest.

The sports field is at the southernmost part of the school, and the dorms are at the northernmost part. As long as they didn't go towards the dorm area, there would be no problem.

"Then I'll come."

Gu Xiao shrugged, saying indifferently.

"Then I'll come too."

Upon hearing Gu Xiao say she would participate, Lu Li immediately followed suit.

"Alright, then everyone from our class will be here."

Feng Kai leaned back, as if he had completed a very important task.

Gu Xiao: "It's just the two of us left?"

Feng Kai: "No, I asked you two first."

"Then how are you sure all the students will come?"

Gu Xiao asked, puzzled. She had thought Feng Kai was notifying her and Lu Li last.

Feng Kai didn't answer Gu Xiao's question. Instead, he turned around and shouted loudly, "Our class is having a graduation party on the school sports field tonight! Gu Xiao and Lu Li are both coming. Whoever wants to come, sign up!"

"I'm coming, I'm coming, I'm coming!"

"A graduation party, I have to be there!"

"How could I miss a party like this?"

"I'm coming too."

"Count me in."

"..."

As soon as Feng Kai's voice fell, the students in the classroom responded one after another.

After tallying everyone and confirming that all the classmates would come, Feng Kai turned back around.

"See, I told you everyone would come."

"You've really mastered 'gathering a crowd by leveraging influence'."

No wonder he asked her and Lu Li first if they were coming; he had been waiting for this.

"Hey, wasn't I doing this so everyone could get together and have an unforgettable graduation season?"

"So, I should praise you then."

"Thank you for the compliment."

As the time approached 8:30, a clamor arose in the corridor.

A student checked the time, then opened the door to look down the corridor, and turned back.

"Class monitor, the other classes have gone down. Let's go too."

"All students, go downstairs and gather."

Although Lu Li was shouting, her voice remained gentle, not at all sharp. It was like a stream flowing slowly through a riverbed, very pleasant to listen to.

The students began to get up and head downstairs. Because several classes were going down together, the corridor was a bit crowded.

Fortunately, it was often like this during the big break for morning exercises, so everyone was used to it. They all watched their steps when going downstairs, preventing anyone from falling and creating a domino effect.

"Phew, it's really hot today."

It wasn't even nine o'clock, but standing outside already felt a bit scorching.

"I think it's fine, it's not as exaggerated as you say."

"Those who have awakened their professions should just shut up."

The first realm of a professional, the Soldier rank, also known as the Body Tempering Realm, is about training and strengthening the physique. Their tolerance for cold and heat is naturally higher than that of ordinary people.

Not just the Soldier and Lieutenant ranks, but actually all realms on Planet Azure have another set of names, and it could even be said that those are the native names of Planet Azure.

The division from Soldier rank to Emperor rank is an interstellar term, just like the interstellar language.

After all, different civilizations have different ways of classifying realms, and with so many different civilizations interacting, a unified standard terminology naturally emerged.

Not keeping the students exposed to the sun for too long, after calling the roll once, Lu Li led the students towards the auditorium.

When they arrived at the entrance of the auditorium, a teacher was standing there, with a form displayed on the virtual screen of his smart wristband.

"Which class?"

"Senior Class 3-4."

"Hm, go in."

The teacher put a checkmark next to Senior Class 3-4 on the form, then let Lu Li lead the students inside.

After the students in the class found their seats and sat down, Gu Xiao and Lu Li went backstage at the auditorium.

"Hello, Teacher Ma, hello, Teacher Yang, Teacher Zhang..."

There were several other teachers standing there, and Gu Xiao and Lu Li politely stepped forward to greet them.

"Gu Xiao, Lu Li, you're here."

Whether it was their grades or their appearance, Gu Xiao and Lu Li were prominent figures in the school, so the teachers were naturally familiar with them.

Besides the teachers and several school leaders, there was also a male student present. He was the third-ranked student in their school and one of the outstanding student representatives speaking on stage today.

Because they had never been in the same class, Gu Xiao and Lu Li weren't very familiar with him, and they simply nodded to each other.

However, although they weren't familiar, the male student visibly relaxed a lot after Gu Xiao and Lu Li arrived.

Standing with so many teachers and school leaders, he must have felt some pressure.

"Hello, hello..."

On the podium, a teacher was testing the microphone. After everything was ready, the teacher raised a hand and gestured downwards towards the students in the audience.

The previously noisy auditorium fell silent in an instant, and everyone's gaze was fixed on the podium.

Under the students' watchful eyes, the head of the senior grade walked up.

"Three years of youth, years like a song. Three years have passed leisurely, and in this unforgettable June..."
