Irina's POV
"Everyone, we have the results." Isobel rose and positioned herself at the room's center. Her tone carried authority and certainty. "Both candidates are skilled doctors, and I trust this outcome won't diminish anyone's respect for their substantial abilities."
"Mr. Cross." Isobel's eyes found Erik.
Erik beamed with confidence and shot me a look. 'I knew victory was mine,' he mused.
I remained seated, casually lifting my coffee cup to my lips, keeping my face neutral.
When Roy caught Isobel saying Erik's name, his stomach dropped. 'We're finished. Erik's definitely won.'
Noticing that Irina continued drinking her coffee calmly, Roy felt his anxiety spike. "Irina, doesn't this worry you at all?"
"Should it?" I replied.
"Erik's going to win. Just look at Louise strutting around." Roy's brow furrowed. "But don't stress about it. I've got your back. The Cross family won't dare cross you with me around."
Flynn shook his head in exasperation. 'What an idiot.'
