Irina's POV
Javion grumbled under his breath about my supposed favoritism.
He was clearly upset that I'd only brought Seth—that food-obsessed guy—along with me, leaving him behind. Just when he finally got assigned something important, I was calling in backup. The whole situation obviously bored him to death.
I watched him and shook my head, feeling helpless.
I shot a quick look at Wilson standing behind me but decided against any subtle signals.
With him here, the Eclipse Security Division wasn't necessary.
"I'm staying put," Javion said firmly, shaking his head. Worry filled his eyes as he stared at me. "If I leave, what happens to you?"
"Relax, I've got protection," I said, raising an eyebrow and nodding toward Wilson positioned behind me.
Then I faced Wilson directly, crossing my arms and lifting one eyebrow, a slight smile tugging at my lips. "Quit the tough-guy act and do your job."
