Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: THE SYSTEM STORE AND THE POWER OF THE GODS

With missions, I could earn CP.With CP, I could use the shop. And the gacha would unlock naturally through achievements.

Axel sat on the bed, his thoughts racing. If the System had granted him a Hidden Dragon Magic, then there had to be clues about its awakening somewhere in the Shop.

He summoned the menu, ignoring the daylight already spilling through the window.

The [SHOP] tab opened like a gateway to infinite possibilities. Everything had a price, always measured in Conquest Points (CP). His remaining balance blinked at the corner of the screen.

CP Available: 495

Without hesitation, he typed the word burning in his mind into the search bar.

"DRAGON."

The results flooded the screen.

Weapons forged from dragon bone.Artifacts warped by ancient draconic mana.Items so dangerous they made his instincts scream.

Dragon King Scale — 3,500 CP(Rank SS)

Grants overwhelming physical and magical defense. Provides high resistance to elemental attacks.

Iron Dragon Slayer Magic (1st Generation) — 1,500 CP(Rank A)

Grants Dragon Slayer Magic aligned with iron. Allows consumption of iron and generation of iron-based attacks.

Boosted Gear — (Longinus · DxD) — 1,000 CP(Rank S)

A sacred artifact that doubles the user's power every ten seconds. The dragon within is sealed.

Dragonet Egg (Mount) — 800 CP(Rank A)

Egg of a lesser dragon hatchling. Estimated hatching time: one year.

Tear of Chaos (Unique Item) — 50,000 CP(Rank EX)

Instantly awakens any Hidden or Origin Magic.Limited to one purchase.

Axel choked.

Not at the absurd 50,000 CP price tag—he'd already dismissed that as a cruel joke—but at something far more shocking.

The Boosted Gear.

"…One thousand CP?" he muttered, going pale."The god-slaying Longinus… for that price?"

He had expected artifacts of that caliber to be completely unreachable—hundreds of thousands of CP at minimum. Yet here it was, only 505 CP away, ranked merely S, not SSS or EX like the Chaos Tear.

Why is it so cheap?

He tapped the item, opening the detailed description.

[Boosted Gear — Longinus (DxD)]

Cost: 1,000 CPRank: S (Artifact)

Effect:Doubles the user's physical and magical power every 10 seconds.Accumulation is limited by the user's bodily capacity.

Critical Note:The Celestial Dragon Ddraig is sealed within the artifact. His consciousness and advanced abilities—Balance Breaker and Juggernaut Drive—remain inactive until the System recognizes the user as a compatible host.

Initial Purchase Effect:Grants only the gauntlet and the basic Boost function.

Axel leaned back and exhaled.

"Right… Ddraig's basically in a coma," he muttered."So I'd only get the passive Boost."

That explained it.

A fully awakened Ddraig would easily be worth 100,000 CP or more. What the Shop was selling wasn't the dragon—it was the shell.

Still, seeing the Boosted Gear—an Origin-class power from another universe—gave Axel an important realization.

The System wasn't limited by worlds.

It could fuse concepts from entirely different universes.

His own Soul of the Sleeping Dragon suddenly made far more sense.

It wasn't traditional Dragon Slayer Magic—which cost 1,500 CP.It wasn't a full Dragon Possession Magic like the Boosted Gear at 1,000 CP either.

It was something else.

A seed.

"If it's not the magic itself…" Axel murmured, eyes narrowing,"…then it's the affinity."

The System hadn't given him Dragon Magic.

It had given him the capacity to withstand it.

His Slumbering Dragon Soul was a compatibility framework—a foundation that allowed his Peak Human body to survive high-level draconic power.

Which meant—

If he acquired the Boosted Gear, his Dragon Soul could act as the stabilizing factor. It might even accelerate Ddraig's eventual awakening.

Axel closed the Shop menu, heart pounding.

He couldn't afford to hesitate.

He needed CP.

And the fastest ways to get it were clear:

Guild Missions — steady, safe CP income.High-Risk Achievements — massive rewards, equally massive danger.

He stood up and quickly got dressed.

He already had the tools of a protagonist.

Now he needed to turn them into Conquest Points.

"It's time," he muttered.

Axel headed for the door.

Downstairs, the guild awaited.
