Warner's POV
The words tumble out before I can stop them. "I could kiss you right now and never stop." Her eyes immediately fill with moisture and the flush across her already heated skin deepens to an even richer shade.
"Hmm?" She tilts her head, offering me a chance to recover from my unfiltered confession.
"I would love to," I clarify with a nod. "My parents would be absolutely delighted."
"Good," she manages to squeak out before attempting to slip away from me. I catch her arm gently.
"Would you like to have dinner with me tonight? Just the two of us?"
"Is that... I'm... what?" The words stumble over each other as they leave her mouth.
"Would you like to have dinner with me tonight?"
"Like dinner dinner or a date?" Her skepticism is written clearly across her features.
"This is a date, Sweetheart." I can't help but grin at the way her expression shifts.
