Chapter 32 - Chapter 32 Conversation X Uninvited Guests

"Alright, kid, don't be so gloomy."

Killua was wearing a baseball cap, its brim pulled low, almost completely obscuring his face.

Kevin reached out and patted his head, teasing, "I'm really strong, so losing to me isn't shameful."

Hearing this, Killua bared his teeth at Kevin.

"That last move of yours, you learned it from me, didn't you?"

Although that final move had brought Killua a fear akin to facing death directly, he still keenly noticed the similarity between that move and his own attacking style.

Kevin nodded, "Even though it wasn't a perfect imitation, I was indeed mimicking your attacking technique."

"No, in such a short time, you already learned it very well," Killua said seriously.

This was not to comfort Kevin.

Their battle on the arena stage, from start to finish, was less than ten minutes.

In this short period, although Kevin hadn't fully mastered the technique, it seemed he had at least grasped three or four tenths of it.

"Really? Haha." Kevin chuckled, after all, he had used his Nen Ability while being hit.

How should one describe Nen Ability? This thing was truly elusive.

When Kevin was developing his Nen Ability, he hoped to focus on strengthening his body's learning ability, similar to how muscles form quick memories.

The actual effect was just as he had anticipated. However, when Kevin applied this Nen Ability in combat, deliberately experiencing the enemy's attacks by taking hits, this learning ability seemed to be further enhanced.

As the enemy's attacks landed on him, the information regarding power and technique, flowed into his body through this Nen Ability.

Even if Kevin used his hands to defend, as long as he didn't deliberately dodge, once an attack landed on him, it would leave a corresponding "memory."

His body was like a sophisticated machine with self-learning capabilities; each time it took a hit, it would automatically perform an analysis. Through continuous hits and analysis, it gradually simulated the enemy's force application techniques.

Moreover, for Kevin, Killua's attacks caused him little damage, and Killua's attack speed was extremely fast, which further accelerated Kevin's simulated learning speed.

In just ten minutes, he had learned three or four tenths of Killua's attacking technique.

For Kevin, this was an unexpected surprise.

"Just understanding the knowledge of Nen Ability is far from enough; I need to delve deeper into the essence of Nen."

Kevin understood in his heart that the knowledge he currently possessed was merely ready-made results; he was not clear about the formation process behind these results.

Wanting to explore deeply was a long and arduous task.

However, this unexpected discovery also made Kevin decide not to waste too much time below the two-hundredth floor.

Of course, training with Killua must be put on the agenda. He found this kid to be a treasure, with various force application techniques far surpassing most martial artists in this arena.

"Well then, as we agreed before, I'll be your training partner from now on," Kevin said with a smile.

Killua rolled his eyes, as if to say, don't think he's easy to fool just because he's a child.

After this battle, he naturally also realized that his attacks on Kevin would be learned and absorbed by the other party.

However, Killua didn't mind this.

Having such a strong person as his "punching bag" offered him many benefits.

What's more, Kevin was a rare friend he had made, even if he was a slightly older "big friend." In truth, Killua wished he had a friend his own age.

...

Kevin returned home.

"What should I do today?"

Make medicine? Or train?

He could only choose one of these two things, because no matter which one he did, it would consume a lot of his stamina and Nen.

Although he mumbled this, he still quickly walked into his material room and began to select various materials stored in bottles and jars, as well as those kept in specific temperature environments.

"I'm running out of valuable materials again… Do I have to order another batch?"

Kevin sighed helplessly.

Every time he ordered materials, it cost a large sum of money. Fortunately, he won today's battle in the arena and received tens of millions in prize money.

According to his plan, he would participate in a few more matches in a few days and directly ascend to the two-hundredth floor, at which point his accumulated wealth would reach hundreds of millions.

This money should be enough to support him for a while.

Since the materials were insufficient, he could only train.

After training, Kevin simply washed up and went to bed to rest.

Late at night.

A tall, slender figure stood on the rooftop not far from Kevin's residence. Under the moonlight, long, straight black hair gently swayed in the wind.

With a few light leaps, this person silently arrived at the window of Kevin's residence. Not a single sound was made throughout the entire process.

He slowly pushed open the window, and the Nen wrapped around his body suddenly spread out in a circular shape.

"Hmm?"

The person suddenly let out a surprised gasp, and his hands quickly crossed.

"Bang!"

A loud noise broke the stillness of the night, and the tall, slender man was heavily struck by a powerful force, sending him flying. This sudden attack caught him completely off guard, and he flew directly onto an adjacent rooftop.

After several collisions, he fell onto the road, even damaging a car.

Immediately after, a muscular figure descended like a meteor from the sky.

"Bang!"

Another loud noise.

The fallen tall, slender man reacted quickly, dodging with a few agile leaps.

Where he had been lying, a deep indentation appeared, as if it had been hit by a bomb, creating a crater.

Kevin stood in place, still wearing thin pajamas. He slowly withdrew his hand from the crater.

"Who are you?"

He had been resting soundly in bed, and he didn't know which uninvited guest had inexplicably enveloped him with Nen.

As soon as someone else's Nen approached, the Nen on Kevin's body instantly fluctuated, which immediately woke him from his sleep.

So he detected the intruder at the first moment. Kevin wasn't sure if the other party was benevolent or malicious, but anyone sneaking into his room in the dead of night was treated as an intruder.

Without thinking, he threw a punch—a powerful punch using [Hardening], which shot towards the enemy like a cannonball, sending the opponent flying.

"Not talking, huh?" Seeing the other party not respond, Kevin clenched his fist tightly, ready for a serious fight.

"Whoosh!"

A sharp whistling sound filled the air as several Nen needles shaped like lollipops rapidly shot towards Kevin.

Kevin clearly saw the Nen surging on the Nen needles.

He sharply dodged to the side.

However, these Nen needles seemed to have eyes, curving in the direction of his dodge and continuing to pursue him.

Seeing this, Kevin no longer simply dodged. After landing on the ground, he gathered more Nen in his hands and, by rapidly slapping, batted away each of the Nen needles one by one.

They had substance, were not purely made of Nen, were wrapped in Nen, and could even be precisely controlled to curve...

"Manipulation System."

Kevin instantly determined the attribute of the enemy's Nen.

His face immediately showed extreme vigilance.

He had some understanding of this category of Nen Ability; it was one of his most disliked types.

Most Nen Abilities that control people, or even force others to act, originate from this category, just like its name—the "Manipulation System."

Kevin was naturally extremely wary of such an ability that sounded disgusting and repulsive.

If he accidentally fell for it, it would be a huge problem.

He had to finish this quickly!
