Chapter 15 - CHAPTER 15: THE FIRST COMMAND OF THE ABYSS

Darkness stretched endlessly across the realm of the Abyss.

Unlike the mortal world, there was no sun, no moon, and no sky that marked the passing of time. The Abyss existed in a constant twilight, an infinite ocean of shadow where ancient power pulsed beneath the surface like a slumbering beast.

Floating islands of black stone drifted slowly through the air, bound together by streams of violet energy that flowed like rivers through the void. Massive pillars carved from obsidian reached upward into nothingness, each engraved with runes older than the history of mankind.

At the very center of this eternal darkness stood the Citadel of the Abyss.

A colossal fortress forged from living shadow and jagged stone.

Its towering spires twisted upward like claws reaching toward a sky that did not exist. Dark energy poured from its walls in slow currents, spreading across the realm like the breath of a sleeping god.

Inside the citadel lay the Throne Hall.

A vast chamber large enough to swallow entire armies.

Black pillars lined the hall in perfect symmetry, each carved with ancient symbols that glowed faintly with violet light. The floor was polished obsidian, reflecting the dim glow of the abyssal rivers flowing beneath the chamber.

At the far end of the hall stood the Abyss Throne.

A massive seat carved from a single block of dark crystal.

It was not elegant.

It was not beautiful.

It was terrifying.

The throne resembled a jagged crown made of stone and shadow, its edges sharp and uneven like the fangs of a great beast. Thin streams of black mist drifted from its surface, swirling slowly around the figure seated upon it.

Kaizen.

He sat upon the throne with quiet stillness.

His posture was relaxed, yet his presence filled the entire chamber with a suffocating pressure.

His long black coat draped across the throne like flowing darkness, and faint shadows moved around his feet as though drawn to him by instinct.

His right eye, an endless abyssal void surrounded by slowly rotating silver markings, stared forward with cold calculation.

His left eye, glowing faintly with radiant violet light, seemed to observe far beyond the walls of the citadel.

Below the throne, the Seven Abyss Lords stood in silent formation.

Pride.

Wrath.

Greed.

Lust.

Envy.

Gluttony.

Sloth.

Each one knelt respectfully before the new ruler of the Abyss.

Behind Kaizen, standing near the throne itself, were the two ancient figures who had guided him since his awakening.

The Left Adviser leaned upon his tall black staff, his sharp eyes calmly observing the chamber.

The Right Adviser stood beside him with her arms folded, her expression calm and unreadable.

For a long moment, silence ruled the hall.

Then Pride spoke.

"Your Majesty," he said respectfully, lowering his head slightly.

"The armies of the Abyss await your command."

Kaizen did not immediately respond.

Instead, he looked down at the seven lords gathered before him.

These beings were older than kingdoms.

Older than empires.

Each one commanded power capable of destroying entire nations.

And yet now…

They knelt.

Not because they had been defeated.

But because they had chosen to follow him.

Kaizen leaned slightly forward in the throne.

"Tell me," he said quietly.

His voice echoed softly through the hall.

"How many soldiers does the Abyss possess?"

Wrath was the first to answer.

He lifted his head slightly, a savage grin spreading across his face.

"Enough to drown the human world in blood."

Greed chuckled beside him.

"If numbers are what you desire, my king…"

He extended one of his many hands toward the chamber floor.

Suddenly the obsidian surface began to glow.

An enormous map formed across the ground.

A map of the Abyss itself.

Across the dark terrain appeared countless glowing points of light.

Each one representing a legion.

Each one representing an army.

Greed's voice echoed proudly.

"The Abyss contains millions of warriors."

He pointed toward different regions of the map.

"Shadow soldiers forged from darkness itself."

"Beasts born from the deepest pits of the realm."

"Ancient monsters that have slept for centuries awaiting battle."

Wrath crossed his arms.

"And warriors who exist only for destruction."

Kaizen studied the map silently.

The scale of the Abyssal army was immense.

Entire continents of the mortal world could vanish beneath such a force.

But Kaizen's expression remained calm.

Pride spoke again.

"If you wish it, my king…"

His voice carried the confidence of a conqueror.

"We can march upon the human world immediately."

Wrath laughed.

"I've been waiting centuries for a war."

Gluttony's deep voice rumbled like distant thunder.

"So many worlds to devour…"

The throne hall filled with the rising energy of anticipation.

The Abyss Lords hungered for battle.

But Kaizen raised his hand.

The movement was small.

Yet instantly the chamber fell silent.

All eyes returned to him.

Kaizen stood slowly from the throne.

As he rose, the shadows around the hall stirred.

The Abyss itself seemed to react to his presence.

He stepped down from the throne platform and walked across the glowing map beneath his feet.

The violet light reflected faintly in his left eye as he studied the countless armies of the Abyss.

Then he spoke.

"No."

The single word echoed across the chamber.

Wrath frowned.

"No?"

Kaizen looked toward him.

"If we invade the human world now…"

He gestured toward the map.

"They will unite against us."

Greed tilted his head thoughtfully.

"An excellent point."

Kaizen continued walking slowly across the map.

"The world above has forgotten the Abyss."

His voice remained calm.

"They believe it is nothing more than legend."

Lust smiled faintly.

"And you intend to change that."

Kaizen stopped at the center of the map.

His gaze lifted toward the distant darkness beyond the citadel walls.

"Yes."

He turned back toward the Seven Abyss Lords.

"But not through war."

Wrath groaned in disappointment.

"Then what?"

Kaizen's right eye, the endless void, seemed to darken further.

"We remind them."

A faint ripple of energy spread across the map beneath his feet.

Kaizen raised his hand.

Across the glowing terrain of the Abyss, several points of light began to flicker.

"These locations," Kaizen said.

"They are closest to the boundaries between worlds."

The Left Adviser nodded approvingly.

"Dimensional fractures."

Kaizen looked toward the Seven Lords.

"Open them."

The command hung in the air.

Pride frowned slightly.

"You mean… rifts?"

Kaizen nodded.

"Small ones."

Greed's many eyes gleamed with interest.

"You intend to send forces into the mortal world."

"Yes."

Wrath grinned again.

"Now we're talking."

Kaizen continued.

"Not armies."

The grin faded slightly.

"Scouts."

The Abyss Lords exchanged confused looks.

Kaizen explained calmly.

"Release monsters."

"Beasts."

"Creatures of shadow."

He gestured toward the map again.

"In different regions of the human world."

Understanding slowly dawned across Pride's face.

"You want to observe them."

Kaizen nodded.

"We study their strength."

"We learn their defenses."

"And most importantly…"

His violet eye glowed faintly.

"…we remind them that the Abyss exists."

The Right Adviser smiled faintly.

"A slow war."

The Left Adviser chuckled softly.

"Elegant."

Wrath cracked his knuckles.

"So we start small."

"Yes."

Kaizen's voice remained calm.

"Chaos will spread."

"Fear will follow."

"And when the world begins to panic…"

He looked toward the endless darkness beyond the throne hall.

"…that is when we move."

The Seven Abyss Lords slowly bowed their heads.

Pride spoke first.

"As you command, my king."

Wrath laughed.

"Finally."

Greed clapped his hands together.

"This will be entertaining."

One by one, the Lords began preparing to depart.

Each of them would open rifts in different parts of the mortal world.

Each rift would release creatures born from the Abyss.

The war had begun.

Not with armies.

But with shadows.

Kaizen returned to the throne and sat once more.

The chamber slowly emptied as the Lords left to carry out his command.

Soon only the advisers remained.

The old man looked toward Kaizen thoughtfully.

"You do not intend to destroy the world immediately."

Kaizen's gaze remained fixed on the darkness beyond the citadel.

"No."

The woman tilted her head slightly.

"You wish to reshape it."

Kaizen's voice was quiet.

"Yes."

Far away…

Beyond the boundaries of the Abyss.

Across distant lands and peaceful kingdoms.

Something strange began to happen.

In the depths of forgotten forests…

Cracks of black light appeared in the air.

In ancient ruins long abandoned by mankind…

Shadows twisted unnaturally.

In remote mountains…

Creatures of darkness stepped quietly into the mortal world.

Small rifts.

Barely noticeable.

But growing.

Slowly.

Unstoppably.

Back in the Abyss, Kaizen watched silently from his throne.

The first pieces of his plan were already in motion.

The war between the world and the Abyss had officially begun.

And the world still had no idea how close the darkness had come.

.....

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Well its true I said I'll be ending things quickly, but we are still far from chapter 40, so we'll be having a slow war.

And concerning the appearance of the abyss, like the name suggest "abyss" the place is just darkness.

And in between the war we'll be exploring some other themes. So anticipate.
