Mito withdrew Kagura Shingan (Kagura's Mind Eye) and was in a rather good mood.

This little brat looks pretty decent, she thought. Seems to be in the same generation as Tsunade.

But matters between young people should be left to them. After all, a melon forced off the vine is never sweet.

Kotarou let out a quiet breath of relief, then went back to checking the system's functions.

On the system panel, he could see a Shop, a Roulette, and a Quest System.

His current points were 0, so he ignored the Shop and the Roulette for now and tapped open the Quest panel instead.

Good grief. There were Daily Quests, Weekly Quests, Achievements, Encounters, and Affection.

It really had everything. There was even a "kind reminder" at the top:

"There are no quests that can't be finished, only trash who refuse to do them."

Kotarou's head throbbed.

What is this?

This is PUA!

What is this?

This is capitalism!

Beasts. Absolute beasts.

What do you mean "no unfinished quests, only trash who won't do them"?

That's the same as saying: as long as you can keep suffering, there will always be more suffering waiting for you.

Kotarou sighed, then suddenly noticed that some quests were already marked as completed.

Achievement Quest: "Open Eyes"

("Congratulations, you are now a slightly competent piece of trash. Please continue to work hard!")

Reward: 500 points

Affection Quest: Uzumaki Mito (nodding acquaintance)

Reward: 50 points

Affection Quest: Tsunade (chance encounter)

Reward: 10 points

Kotarou exhaled. Okay, now he could at least be considered to have a bit of "capital," right?

He opened the Shop… and his face went green.

What the hell is all this?

Sennin-tai (Sage Body): 999999 points

Mangekyō Sharingan (Kaleidoscope Sharingan): 99999 points

Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan (Eternal Kaleidoscope Sharingan): 999999 points

A-rank ninjutsu: 20000 points

B-rank ninjutsu: 5000 points

C-rank ninjutsu: 500 points

D-rank ninjutsu: 50 points

Kotarou slammed the Shop closed in a panic.

He had just been feeling like he was rich.

Turned out his entire net worth could only buy a single C-rank ninjutsu.

Damn it, what good is a C-rank ninjutsu?!

Let's not even talk about Sennin-tai or Mangekyō Sharingan… looks like he was still a broke scrub.

Wait, no, there was still the Roulette.

Kotarou opened the Roulette and glanced over the rewards.

Hmm. Not bad. Eight slots in total, five of them flashy colors: red, gold, purple, blue, and green.

The remaining three slots were:

"Thank you for your patronage."

"One month's ration pills."

"One month's drinking water."

Kotarou nodded. The rewards didn't look terrible.

The problem was that a single spin cost 168 points.

He hesitated.

A five-spin pull only cost 800 points, but he currently had only 560.

So he decided to save up a bit more.

After closing the system panel, he spoke using his mind.

"System, you know everything, right?"

"Ding. The system is omniscient. The host may ask freely."

"What is Danzō doing right now?"

Kotarou suddenly asked.

"Ding. This information requires 10 points. Will the host proceed?"

"Proceed."

Kotarou was curious. In this war, Danzō was still being relatively honest.

Hiruzen had just taken office as the Third Hokage, and Danzō had only just become one of Konoha's advisory elders.

Even for the sake of his own interests, he had every reason to fight this war properly.

"Ding. Now playing video for the host."

A scene suddenly unfolded in Kotarou's mind.

The Third Hokage had just finished his meeting and assigned the squads when Danzō pushed the door open in a dramatic stride.

"Hiruzen, there's an Uchiha brat who's gotten close to Tsunade and Mito-sama.

I suspect the Uchiha clan is planning a rebellion! I recommend handing that brat over to me for interrogation!"

Danzō slapped his hand on the Third Hokage's desk.

Hiruzen frowned, folding his hands together in front of his mouth.

"Danzō, I already know about this. Leave it alone for now. And remember: the Uchiha are Konoha's Uchiha.

If they had wanted to rebel, they would have followed Madara when he left back then."

"Besides, don't forget. Kagami is our teammate and a Uchiha personally acknowledged by sensei.

We're about to go to war. The Uchiha are part of the village's strength."

Danzō snorted coldly.

"Kagami is indeed a Uchiha recognized by sensei, but don't forget the Uchiha clan's natural talent.

Once they awaken the Sharingan (three-tomoe Sharingan), they possess jōnin-level strength. Aren't you at all concerned?"

A trace of malice flashed in his eyes.

"Enough, Danzō! I am the Hokage! Put away your little schemes! Right now, the Uchiha cannot be touched!"

Hiruzen slammed his palm down on the desk. Off to the side, Koharu and Homura both flinched.

Hiruzen was in his prime, and after becoming Hokage he carried a certain domineering edge.

"Hiruzen, you—"

Danzō froze for a moment. He hadn't expected his good friend to press him down with the authority of Hokage. This was the first time.

And all for a bunch of Uchiha brats he believed were "born evil."

"Fine, Hiruzen. You'll regret this."

Danzō turned and stormed out of the Hokage's office, slamming his right hand into the door on the way.

Bang.

He made no effort to conceal his anger.

Hiruzen watched Danzō's back as he left and fell into deep thought.

Koharu and Homura both tried to console him, telling him not to be angry, that Danzō had just acted on impulse.

The Hiruzen of this era was not the old man he would one day become.

He had firm convictions. If anyone dared to threaten the village, he would fight.

He definitely would not be easily swayed by Danzō's whispering.

Hiruzen raised his pipe and lit it.

Smoke slowly filled the meeting room. No one knew what he was thinking.

Koharu did not like the smell of smoke, but she didn't dare say anything. She simply stood quietly, waiting for Hiruzen's orders.

Homura kept offering a few words of comfort from the side.

The video cut off there.

Kotarou nodded slightly.

So at this point in time, Hiruzen was still a true shinobi leader, not yet the "useless npc" he'd turn into later.

Just then, the door to the room was pushed open, and the one who walked in was Tsunade.

Her long ponytail and already quite developed figure radiated charm with every step.

Kotarou couldn't help but glance over, while Tsunade paused.

She suddenly remembered that Kotarou was still staying in her house, and a smile appeared on her face.

"Kotarou-kun, you're awake. How are you feeling? Any better?"

Tsunade asked naturally as she took off her ninja armor.

Underneath, she wore a tight black bodysuit that outlined her figure perfectly.

Tsunade didn't notice how much this everyday motion of hers was affecting Kotarou.

He quickly turned his head away, a flush spreading across his cheeks.

Seeing this, Tsunade finally glanced down at her own clothes and couldn't help blushing as well.

But when she saw Kotarou's reaction, for some reason her nervousness faded. Instead, her eyes spun with mischief.

"Kotarou-kun, what's wrong? Why is your face so red…"

Tsunade's playful side suddenly woke up.
