Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

A quiet dango shop on a Konoha side street.

A 17-year-old boy sat at a corner table, savoring a stick of three-colored dango.

He looked perfectly at peace, nibbling on the chewy sweets—until his gaze drifted up, almost by accident.

There, hanging by the counter, was an old calendar:

Konoha, Year 41.

He paused mid-bite.

"…Has it really been ten years since I came to this world?"

The young man—Yagami—let the dango rest on his tongue, expression fading into distant memories.

Yagami.

A reincarnator.

The day he'd awakened in the Hidden Leaf, a "system" had manifested in his mind—just like in all those stories back on Earth. For a fleeting moment, he'd thought he'd hit the jackpot, ready to speedrun life to the very top.

But then, the unthinkable happened.

His system malfunctioned.

Right during the startup sequence—it glitched, flickered, and disappeared.

He was still riding the high of gaining a legendary cheat, and then…

Blank. Nothing.

Desperate, he'd tried everything to bring it back: sweet-talking it, cursing the developers to the eighteenth generation, pleading, bribing, begging. The system ignored him like an ex who'd blocked his number.

Days passed.

Weeks.

Months.

At last, Yagami shed a few tears and accepted reality: the system simply wasn't going to work. He'd have to wait—however long it took.

Time blurred. One year faded into the next. Before he knew it, ten years had slipped by.

He'd watched his parents die on missions.

His Jōnin instructor too—lost on the battlefield.

That wide-eyed kid, full of excitement for the ninja world, had grown into a careful, steady young man.

In these years, if he wasn't on a mission, he was training—always training.

But this was the ninja world. Here, you fought everyone: your clan, your rivals, your mentors.

Bloodlines, legacies, and fate itself could crush you.

Yagami pushed himself as hard as he could. Still, he was just another face in the crowd—a background mob.

Two years ago, he managed to reach Jōnin.

And then—stopped.

No matter how he struggled, it was like smashing into an invisible ceiling.

Just as he drifted back into these memories—

[Ding~ The fault is repaired and the system is restarting…]

The voice rang in his mind—a voice he hadn't heard in a decade.

Yagami nearly choked on his dango.

He froze, heart thundering, eyes wide.

And then—realization crashed over him.

"…No way. The system… it's actually fixed?"

He could barely believe it.

For ten years, he'd dreamed of this moment—though honestly, hope had faded long ago.

And now, of all times—it's back?!

He snapped his hands together, almost on instinct.

"…You dog of a system. Please, not again… don't you dare crash on me this time…"

He squeezed his eyes shut, quietly begging every deity in Konoha and beyond.

Sure, Jōnin was strong by civilian standards.

But he was a reincarnator! Why stop here?

He'd seen the Naruto story unfold. He knew the horrors that lay ahead—the monsters that would make Jōnin, or even Kage, look like small fry.

If he wanted to survive, if he wanted a chance at greatness, then this system—this was his ticket.

The progress bar in his mind crawled along, each second stretching out as his nerves built up.

[Ding~ The system has started up!]

[Hello host, I am the Strongest Prestige System. I'm honored to serve you.]

A sleek, transparent screen appeared before his eyes.

His heart pounded as if it was about to leap out of his chest.

"The… Strongest Prestige System?"

He repeated it, voice trembling. For some reason, his eyes stung just a little.

Ten years.

Ten years since that fateful day, and only now did he finally learn the name of his "cheat."

He exhaled shakily, a little choked up.

But business first.

"System—what can you do?"

[Of course, master!]

The system's chipper voice echoed as it began its explanation.

Time drifted by.

About fifteen minutes later, Yagami had a clear idea:

Personal Panel: Digitizes and displays his current stats and abilities.

Task Panel: Where quests and missions appear.

Lottery Panel: The real jackpot—his only route to powerups, skills, and new abilities.

System Inventory: Basically a ninja scroll space, but it only stores items gained from the system.

He nodded, then asked the obvious isekai question:

"…Do I get a newbie package?"

[The newbie gift pack has been placed in your inventory. Please open it at your convenience!]

The system added, almost like an afterthought:

[In addition, due to the lengthy malfunction, a special compensation package has also been distributed. Please check your inventory for details.]

"Compensation… package?"

For a moment, Yagami was stunned—

Then a slow grin split his face.

He hadn't expected the system to be this generous.

Ten years of delay… but two gift packs to open.

His fingers twitched with anticipation.

"Alright, let's see what you've got for me…"
