Chapter 45 - Chapter 45

Swoosh ×3

After a series of rapid leaps, Yagami flashed forward and quickly caught up to the red-haired girl carrying Sārah.

"Stop! Put Sārah down!"

Yagami shouted, hand already moving to draw his sword—

But a figure dropped down in front of him, blocking his path.

The man had stark white hair, a mask covering the lower half of his face, and a frame that looked around thirty years old.

More importantly…

The aura around him was unmistakable.

A swordsman's presence—refined, sharp, practiced.

Kssh—!

Yagami slammed both feet onto the ground, skidding to an abrupt halt.

Dust kicked up around him as a harsh scraping sound tore through the stone beneath his sandals.

Shing—!

The moment he stopped, he drew Shisui in one smooth, clean motion.

The man blocking him… felt strong.

Unexpectedly strong.

"Who are you!?" Yagami demanded, voice low and serious.

As a Reincarnator who knew this world's plot very well, he was certain...

There was no such swordsman in canon.

Swoosh—!

The stranger didn't answer.

Instead, the instant his own blade cleared its sheath, he charged forward, lightning chakra erupting across the steel.

Yagami's eyes narrowed.

That movement—

He'd seen something like it before.

Crack—!

A thunder-infused slash came cutting toward him.

Fsshhh—!

Yagami swung his own sword, and wind chakra instantly wrapped around the blade.

Wind beat lightning.

The opponent's attack broke cleanly the moment their blades met.

Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!

Steel collided again and again as they exchanged rapid strikes, sparks scattering in all directions.

The man's swordsmanship was sharp—clean—technical.

But no matter how fast, how precise, or how unorthodox his angles were…

Yagami blocked every single one.

And yet...

As their swords continued to clash, an odd sensation took root in Yagami's chest.

This man's movements…

His footwork…

Even his breathing…

It all felt eerily familiar.

Too familiar.

Clang! ×3

BOOM!

After another exchange, Yagami suddenly pushed forward with brute strength—

the strength of an Uzumaki body—

And sent the man flying back several meters.

"You… are… Kakashi!?"

The masked swordsman froze mid-step.

A long silence followed.

Then, slowly, the lightning chakra faded from his blade.

He lifted his sword into the light—

And Yagami's breath caught.

Shisui.

He was holding Shusui.

"Didn't think you'd recognize me even with a mask on, Sensei…"

Kakashi said with a wry smile as he sheathed the black sword.

He had originally planned to use this opportunity to measure the gap between their swordsmanship.

But once Yagami said his name, there was no point continuing.

This Kakashi was completely different from the original timeline...

No scar on his left eye.

No Sharingan.

And a swordsman's aura that matched Yagami's own style.

No wonder Yagami didn't recognize him immediately.

"You're holding my sword and using the style I taught you. How could I not recognize you?"

Yagami sighed helplessly.

He never expected the person blocking him would be his future student.

"Heh… hahahaha…"

Kakashi scratched his head awkwardly.

"So in the future… I give you Shisui?"

Yagami asked, eyeing the blade.

"Yes. When I was promoted to Jōnin, you handed it to me, Sensei."

Kakashi said it with a look of genuine pride, his hands gently brushing the scabbard.

He clearly treasured it.

"…"

Yagami's heart tightened.

The timeline was broken beyond repair.

Naruto and Yamato should have been the ones to travel here…

But instead—

Future Kakashi had arrived.

And a red-haired girl he didn't recognize.

"Hey… Kakashi."

Yagami finally asked, his voice lowering.

"That red-haired girl… who is she?"

In his memory, Konoha had no such girl involved in the Rōran time warp incident.

This alone made his head spin.

But before Kakashi could answer—

"Daddy!"

The red-haired girl suddenly rushed forward from the side and crashed straight into Yagami's chest.

BAM!

Her cry—

That single word—

Was like a bolt of lightning exploding inside Yagami's skull.

His entire body went rigid.

"This… don't tell me… Kakashi?"

He slowly turned his stiff neck to look at Kakashi, eyes wide with disbelief.

Kakashi simply smiled awkwardly and nodded.

Yagami stared down at the girl in his arms.

Her vibrant red hair shimmered in the light.

His hand moved without thinking, resting gently on her head.

Red hair…

Was this because of his Uzumaki physique?

"Are you… are you me and Mikoto's child…?"

The girl puffed her cheeks angrily.

"Dad, what are you talking about! I'm not Mikoto's child! I'm the child of you and Kushina!"

"WHAT!!?"

BOOOOM!

Another thunderbolt went off in Yagami's chest—even louder than the first.

Me…

and Kushina…??

Mikoto isn't??

How...

When...

WHY???

A dozen questions blasted through Yagami's mind at once as his brain nearly short-circuited.
