Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Life is chaotic, you know? At one moment, you are on top of the world. However, the next day, the world throws you a massive curveball, and it hits you right in the head, killing you. That is what is happening to me.

One day, I won a big lottery worth $25 million. I thought that I would be set for life. Buy a piece of land somewhere away from the big city and become a farmer. Give my parents a retirement they deserve, or something along those lines.

Well, reality threw me a curveball in the form of my crazy ex-girlfriend.

In her drug-affected mind, I put her in my plan of a cozy life and will give her the money. She arrived at my home in the middle of the night and began to share her plan with me. She wants to kill me and get the money I receive from the lottery because, according to her, I have her name in my Will or something.

Well, she is wrong.

As I was dying on the floor from the stab wound, I got the last laugh when I told her that her name did not even touch my will. All of the money I have will be given to my parents and siblings. The look of her anger as she continues to stab me is something that makes me laugh.

Anyway, here I am floating in the middle of the void. I thought I would be judged or something, but it turns out to be nothing but darkness, and I'm floating in it.

[ Calibrating... ]

[ Complete. ]

[ The Chaos Gacha is online. ]

Alright. What the fuck is this? Chaos Gacha? Is this the reason why I died? Is my life so mundane that it needs chaos to make it exciting?

[ By absolute pure chance, you have managed to awaken the Chaos Gacha, granting you a new lease on life in another world with its assistance. ]

[ The Gacha will decide your fate. ]

Right… That is far less explanation than I like, but there is nothing I can do about it. The part of granting me a new lease on life is something I love to have. Second chance at life? Yes, please.

You have acquired 3 Gold Random Gacha tickets. World Transfer will be initiated once all tickets have been used.

Alright. It is not that I am complaining or anything, but could you explain all of these to me? The bare minimum will do.

Explanation - Starting Tickets: Tickets allow you to roll the corresponding gacha they align with. The Gold Random Gacha Ticket can give you anything ranging from Items, Familiars, Powers, and Skills that are contained in the Gold rank gacha. Simply prompt mentally to roll a ticket.

Explanation - World Transfer: Once all tickets have been spent, you will begin your new world in a random world across all of reality that the user is aware of. Mostly from works of fiction from their world of origin.

I see. Does this include Grimdark worlds such as Warhammer 40k and Bloodborne?

Yes.

Shit. So, I am betting my new life in the hands of gacha. The same thing that caused me to lose a significant amount of money. What? FGO has interesting lore, and Mama Raikou makes my neurons go brrrr! And the voice of Yuuki Aoi as Shuten makes my legs go jelly.

I prefer my servants with more… meat, but her voice acting as Shuten Douji is top-tier.

Anyway! There is a reason why I lost a lot of money in that game. My luck sucks-ass! Hell, my death is because of my abysmal luck! I've had good luck with common types of gambling, such as poker or blackjack, but not with gacha.

I scream one more time and hope RNGesus takes mercy on my mortal soul. Let's do this! Use the first Gold Ticket!

Rolling Random Gold Gacha…

Come on! Give me something good!

[Intimidation]

Rare Skill

You are skilled at intimidating people, making them feel fear and shake in their boots with your mere presence. You instinctively know how to present yourself in ways that invoke terror.

This one is useless! It is good if I arrive in a low-level world. However, when it comes to a world such as Warhammer, your intimidation will not work when your opponent is an Ork! Hell, they might think you are someone worthy for them to fight and will get targeted by them!

Come on! One more time!

Rolling Random Gold Gacha…

Please RNGesus! Give me something good.

[Adept Ninjutsu]

Elite Skill

You are a real ninja, not just a footman, but a fully fledged Ninja. You are able to skillfully handle thrown weapons, bladed weapons, and engage in hand-to-hand combat. You are also a skilled acrobat and can effectively mask your sounds and presence. You have great proficiency in using tools in the midst of combat. Although not a match against another Adept in any one of those fields, your skills make you a formidable Ninja.

Yes! Finally! Not only does it let me hide from enemies, but it also gives me something to defend myself. I am not ashamed to admit that I would run away if the danger is bigger than I can handle.

The last one.

Rolling Random Gold Gacha…

Alright! Give me something better, please!

[Heroes Reward]

Rare Trait

Every Hero deserves, that whenever you save someone, they will feel very indebted to you and feel compelled to repay you.

Huh. Does RNGesus push me to the path of Hero? I don't think I can become a hero. Don't get me wrong, I will help others when I can, but I will not seek people in need like Shirou Emiya.

All Tickets spent. Would you like to continue? Or would you like to take {Penalties} in exchange for more rolls?

The severity of penalties depends on the user's luck, ranging from losing their sense of taste to having poor eyesight to being at odds with a powerful being upon arrival. The more severe the curse, the more advantage you get.

This function is rendered unavailable upon world transfer.

Shit. Do I want to test my luck? These are not bad rolls. Not good, but not bad either. It lets me survive in the starting location of the world that will be thrown at me. That ninjutsu is carrying me.

However, if I decide to take penalties, I don't know how hard my starting point will become. I think for a few seconds and decide to go for it.

Let's do this!

I watch as a red wheel appears in front of me and starts to spin. After a few seconds, it stops at number nine.

9 = Intermediate Curse

Reward: 1x Advantage Gold Random Gacha Ticket

[Weakness of Metal]

Severity 9

"From the moment I understood the weakness of metal, it disgusted me. I craved the ever-changing nature of flesh." Your body naturally and violently rejects any augmentations and implants you try to add to it. Even adding a metal tooth would cause your flesh and body to reject it violently.

Resolve: Acquire 3 or more augment items from the gacha, or acquire 3 or more traits that contradict the curse

Huh? This one is not bad. It is a shame that I won't be able to have any bionics or cybernetics in case I arrive in a sci-fi world, but I can live with that.

Alright. Roll the ticket. Oh? There are two wheels. Ah, I see. It appears that the Advantage prefix allows me to choose between two options.

[Lion Form]

Rare Ability

Allows you to turn into a proud lion or a hybrid at will, granting you enhanced physical ability, a paralyzing roar, and natural weapons. Any mundane animal you meet will defer to you as the king of the animal kingdom as long as you don't harm them.

Or

[Bag of Endless Coins]

Rare Item

A bag that produces 1000 gold coins every day.

This is a closer match than at first glance. Lion form is excellent and all, but the bag of endless coins can give me a good foundation in the new world. What if I appear in a medieval world? These gold coins will be an excellent foundation for me.

There are a lot of worlds with that setting, after all.

I think for a few seconds and decide to take the second one. I will rely on my Ninjutsu to defend myself, and I will use the coins to buy weapons.

I look at the red wheel one more time and hesitate. My budding gambling addiction starts to appear and tempts me to roll once again.

And it is winning. I spin the wheel once again and watch it stop at number 4.

4 = Minor Curse

Reward: 1x Gold Random Gacha Ticket

[Orphan]

Severity 4

Your parents were killed in a car crash. Doesn't matter who they were; they just were—at least the parents who were supposed to raise you anyway.

Resolve: One-and-done deal.

I-I don't know what to think about this one. My parents are good parents. They love me very much and are the reason why I endure a lot of hard work. Now the gacha decides to take away my second parents.

I'm not sure what to make of this one.

I take a deep breath and decide to push it away for now. Let's roll the ticket.

[Hanma]

Rare Trait

Baki - You are a Hanma, you are incredibly genetically gifted, possessing increased resistance to poisons, and your physical stats grow way faster. In addition, you have so much testosterone in you that any other man may as well be a girl in comparison. Your talent in martial arts has also greatly increased. If you are female, the same effects apply without testosterone; you are just a genetically gifted freak.

This one is great. With this, I can get stronger faster than before. It makes the fact that I cannot get any enchantment from cybernetics a bit lighter. I look at the red wheel once again, but shake my head.

No. I am done. This build is great.

Roll a d20 dice to decide your fate.

A d20 dice appeared in front of me. I pick it up and roll it. I watch it roll and stop at 13. That is not bad, right? It is above average.

Initiating World Transfer...

White light engulfs my vision, and the next thing I know, I am lying on a bed with an unfamiliar ceiling. I blink for a few seconds before a massive amount of memory enters my brain. I grunt in pain, but luckily for me, the pain does not last long.

My name is Sigurd Hrikton. I am a Nord and Breton man. My family owns a small house in Whiterun, but after my parents' death, I decided to explore Skyrim, and my first destination is… Helgen.

Shit.'
