Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 : The morning in Crowcrest

Alex stumbles forward leaning onto his rifle for support when out of nowhere the decapitated head of Jhon rolls in front of him, it gleams with a lustful excitement and says "We will devour your soul and drink your blood", then it laughs in a high pitched voice.

Alex smashes the head with his foot like a rotten squash, and yells "Damn you all to hell." as he stumbles faster into the forest to escape the massacre.

In the heart of the forest he sees her, his daughter Isabella whom they have been searching for. She is sitting near a mossy rock her head down with tiny sniffles.

Alex takes a step towards her but then halts as he comes to the realisation that it's not his daughter it's something far more sinister than the demons of hell — something that shouldn't exist.

Then the girl dressed in the skin of Isabella screams "I have been waiting to suck the soul out of your cock, you foolish cunt."

It's torso ruptures open as a pair of limbs grow out of it, the top part of head bursts open revealing a dozen of tentacles laced with teeths on each end.

The demon charges and the last thing we hear is Alex's scream as everything goes dark.

Two wagons enter the village Crowcrest at the high of noon. Filled with torn limbs and bodies of the eight men, bent and broken in all the unnatural ways. The villagers gasp in pure dread, one of the elder members murmurs about how the men neglected the warnings and went into the forest on the night of a full moon.

Alex's wife falls on her knees and breaks, the only part of her husband's corpse left is his half eaten skull. The loss of her daughter and now husband is beyond bearable.

The atmosphere shifts as a man walks upto the scene, he is not of this village, his boots are caked with mud and worn out from the road. A scar stretches from the corner of his forehead to all the way down to his chest. He speaks in a simmering tone. "Pardon my intrusion, I am a soul catcher. I have heard rumours about a missing girl from around here."

No one answers.

They all just look down, as if accepting their fates.
