Chapter 48 - Teach you step by step how to ascend to heaven

"Okay, I'll go first!" One of the twins jumped onto the broom, pushed off the ground with both feet, and quickly flew off the ground, then began to fly around the Quidditch pitch.

"It's alright, barely passable."

Watching his younger brother dart around the pillar, Charlie gave a simple evaluation. In fact, it wasn't hard to tell from the smile on his face that he was quite satisfied.

After all, not every freshman can fly so steadily.

After the twins had both taken their test flights, it was finally Albert and Lee Jordan's turn.

Since neither of them had ever actually used a flying broomstick before, Charlie had to teach them how to use it himself. He was demonstrating to them how to ride the broomstick without slipping off their heads.

"We never received this kind of treatment before," the twins joked playfully. "By the way, are we really his brothers?"

"Shut up, stop talking nonsense." Charlie glared at the twins, annoyed, and began to correct Lee Jordan's grip on his hand.

"You just need to push off with your legs to leave the ground. You'll get a feel for how to control the force once you try it yourself." Charlie taught them how to ride a broomstick very seriously, like a professor. "Hold the broomstick firmly and lift your body slightly upwards, and the broomstick will rise. Similarly, if you lean your body slightly downwards, the broomstick will fall vertically back to the ground, and if you lean forward, the broomstick will move forward."

After about five minutes of explaining the precautions, Charlie let Lee Jordan start the test flight, while he himself took out his wand, ready to catch any newborns who might fall off the broom.

Lee Jordan's flight was relatively smooth.

However, he flew slowly around the Quidditch pitch, taking about five minutes to finish his flight. When he landed back on the ground, his face was filled with undisguised excitement.

He was able to fly so smoothly thanks to the toy broom he used to ride.

"Not bad," Charlie said encouragingly, handing the flying broomstick to Albert beside him.

Albert reached out and touched the broom handle.

Hmm, it's very smooth, without any padding.

He also remembered that the flying broomstick had been enchanted with a spell called the "cushion spell" or shock-absorbing spell.

However, he didn't feel any magic when he touched it, and Albert wondered if he would feel some "testicular" distress if he sat on it.

There was no way around it; there was an obvious seat on the toy broom.

"What are you doing?" Charlie looked at Albert's hand as he gently stroked the broom handle, completely bewildered by what he was doing.

"Nothing, I was just looking for where the cushion is?" Before Charlie could understand what he meant, Albert had already jumped onto the broom, pushed off the ground with his feet, and leaped away.

Sure enough, the shock-absorbing spell does exist.

Sitting astride the flying broomstick doesn't hurt at all; there's a very soft material separating Albert from the broomstick handle, making it feel like sitting on a cushion.

Well, if I had to describe it, it's a bit like riding a bicycle.

As the broom soared into the air, the air immediately whipped up Albert's robes, making them flutter behind him—Albert felt more joyful than ever before, even forgetting his awkward posture. Following Charlie's instructions, he slowly pulled the broom head up, allowing himself to fly even higher.

Albert glanced down; it was about 10 feet above the ground.

Thank goodness.

Luckily, I don't have a fear of heights, otherwise I might have fallen from mid-air if I had let go.

Albert gripped the broom handle with one hand, leaned forward slowly, and the broom began to move forward, just like the first time he rode a toy broom. But Albert flew very slowly, slower than Lee Jordan, but he still began to fly around the Quidditch stadium, enjoying the fun of flying.

Charlie below was surprised. He hadn't expected Albert to adapt to flying so quickly. Some newcomers who had never been exposed to flying brooms would panic as soon as they were halfway through the air.

The other party was a freshman who was using a flying broom for the first time, and it took only a few minutes to reach this level of flying skill, which is already quite good.

However, Albert, who was flying in mid-air on his broomstick, no longer wanted to crawl along at such a slow pace after getting used to the current speed. He opened the skill list and upgraded his flying skill (broomstick) to level 1.

Albert seemed to have a knack for it; he leaned forward, as if triggering an accelerator switch, and the broom's speed instantly increased.

His previously slow movements became agile, and he rode his broom around the goalposts, the wind blowing in his face making him squint.

Faster!

His body leaned forward instinctively, and he sped up a bit. His vision was receding rapidly, and Albert felt as if his heart might leap out of his chest at any moment.

The feeling of flying was absolutely amazing!

At that moment, Albert finally understood why wizards liked this kind of game.

Stimulate!

Yes, that was incredibly exciting.

Just like why some people like racing.

Albert flew around the Quidditch pitch several times on his broomstick, getting faster and faster until he was almost at the maximum speed to sweep the stars.

The four people below gaped in astonishment, almost speechless.

"You flew well!"

A few minutes later, Charlie looked at Albert, who had landed, with a slight stutter. He felt incredible that he had actually witnessed this first-year student's growth, from slow to fast, and gradually adapting.

It hasn't been that long.

This talent is truly amazing!

Albert got the hang of using the broom in just a few minutes and overcame the challenges of high-speed flight.

Standing next to the twins, Lee Jordan looked at Albert with a complicated expression. He originally thought he was flying quite well, but he didn't expect there to be an even more monstrous guy.

Could there really be such a legendary genius?

Of course, he wouldn't have thought that way if he knew that Albert had leveled up his flying skill (broom) to level 1 in order to enjoy speed.

"Sorry, I couldn't help myself." Albert apologized to Charlie as soon as he got off the broom.

That said, it felt really good to be riding a broom.

"You have a lot of talent in this area." Charlie patted Albert on the shoulder and said, "You are all very talented. You can consider being a substitute player for the team. You can train together when you have time."

Charlie was very pleased with today's results; Fred and George, as well as their two friends, all had a talent for flying.

The twins' faces lit up with joy upon hearing this.

"We don't have our own brooms," Albert reminded him.

"It's okay, you can borrow a broom from the school," Charlie comforted her. "You can learn some skills first and find your place."

"However, there's something I need to clarify first," Charlie cleared his throat. "If you want to become real Quidditch players, you still need to rely on your own abilities to pass next year's player selection. I won't go easy on you in that regard."

"We understand," Fred said, blinking.

"Good to know." Charlie was very satisfied with this. He planned to train a few players and use them as the team's secret weapon.
