Hey there, Kid.
Hey, Folks.
How has life been treating you since last we spoke?
Me?
Busy.
So very, very, very, very busy.
I was moving, you know?
Condensing my life and living space into one with that of my significant other.
How has that been going?
(Asked no one at all)
Not bad.
It will take me a bit to acclimate to the new environment and all, but I will be just fine.
I am fine with the change, you know?
New living spaces can be a bit harder for me due to that ever-present childhood trauma of mine.
Hmm.
A good support system can and does help, and I am blessed to have a good significant other who is sensitive enough to my emotions to ask if I am okay.
Not always, but who is perfect?
I am sure I don't and won't always pick up on her emotions all the time, and that is fine as well.
We are two imperfect humans just loving each other the best we can in this weird-ass chaotic world.
It would be dope if you were to be a part of that, Kid, but I'll take what I can get and not ask the Universe for more than I already have!
I am grateful.
So very, very grateful.
I have a good job.
A good woman.
A good and loyal readership.
The rest just comes down to building and saving.
Stabilizing so that we can start living and not just continue to survive...
The last and only other thing that I could ask for is YOU, Kid.
A boy can and still will dream.
I will always want You, Kid.
That feeling will never go away.
Perpetual baby fever, I call it.
Hmm.
There's probably some medical or at least scientific term for that, lol.
There is a title for everything these days, you know?
Let me stop rambling; I have kept you all long enough!
I will see you all when you get back this way, yeah?
Go enjoy a slice of my weird history, lol.
Enjoy!
(Climbs into the Slappery-Slappish-Slappington 3000.1 and readies myself for a trip back to more turbulent times.)

Dear You.
On my way to Rockford, Illinois,
We have family on your Grandma's side down there.
Interesting people, to say the least.
You may meet some someday.
If...
When you come to be.
Or once you gain your shell, so to speak.
*If float freely right now.
And I am in a can.
Pardon my messiness.
-Dad.

Later that night.
-----
Rockford, Illionoise. (An arrow is drawn pointing here.) Spelled wrong, lol
I haven't seen some of these people in years.
A decade, at least.
It's wild.
Crazy.
XXXXX.
XXXXX.
Old names for old people.
Names are so weird, lol.
Were you born XXXXX?!
LMAO.
-Dad.
-----
Hmm.
That first entry was written while on the road, and it is so sloppy that I can't really tell what I was going for, lol.
I don't know how much you all know about Rockford, Illinois, but there isn't much to know about Rockford, Illinois, lbvs.
I don't mean that as a slight, I suppose, but my own memories of the place are pretty lackluster.
So, I guess I'll toss in a good ol' "In my opinion".
Most of the family I've met or encountered from that area seem quite underdeveloped, lbvs.
I don't know if that area in particular is prone to problems with people finishing school, or if my genetics on that side of my family are just shitty, because boy, oh, boy, they are not the smartest bulbs in the fish bucket.
Or however that saying goes.
My visits to them are few and far between, to the extent of even years, sometimes decades, lbvs.
I hardly ever remember them besides their faces, and man, I always pray that they don't speak to me in a manner that would require me to address them by name, lol.
I am HORRIBLE with names.
My ability to retain them is sooooo bad, lol.
I fear that will never change.
I know it can be offensive to some, but shit, what can I do about it?
Lol.
I am doing my best to be better at that; I really am.
My aunt has a unique name, and I couldn't help but laugh at it more than her for having it, you know?
I have a thing about names, so I won't say hers here, but it still tickles me to this day!
My mom's side of my family seems to be filled with people who have really old-sounding names, lmao.
Like Muriel or Wilfred, lol.
No offence if your name happens to be Muriel or Wilfred, lmaoooooooo!
Just a couple of examples that come to mind.
Those sort of names feel very... 1950/60's, lol.
- I wrote twice that day, but it was hardly an eventful day.
Seeing that side of my family is always a bit weird for me since they all seem to always remember my name, and I couldn't retain most of theirs to save my life.
I swear before God and 40 White men, lol.
One of my best friends was there for the ride and trip, and I tell you, that White boy got some Black experience that day!
The culture of that side of my family is a strange mixture of Black Southern hospitality and Nigerian whatever-the-f@ck we tend to do, with a splash of plain ol' Modern-day African American.
That concept may be a bit confusing to an outsider such as yourself, but alas!
Picture an intricate blend of The Boondocks and that one old show about the Hillbillies.
You know, the one where the family had a rocking chair strapped to the top of an old jalopy!
Lmao.
The word 'Jalopy' gets me, Kid.
The music.
The food.
The stories.
The memories that will linger.
I've always wondered how it would feel to be the only White person at a Black family event, you know?
The pressure!
Children have such innocent and unfiltered questions!
"Why yo hair look like dat?" He is a redhead.
"Why yo skin got spots?" He has freckles.
"Is yo Muma AND Daddy White?" He is kinda pale.
My friend is probably 6'5 with red hair, pale skin, and the fashion sense of a well-cultured White dude, lol.
Kinda like a Post Malone mixed with Ron Weasley.
Lmao.
Being taller than most Black people at a gathering of Black people is a quick way to be noticed, lol.
One of the coolest White dudes I know, and I grew up on the South Side of Milwaukee, lol.
-----
I hope this found you well and left you with a laugh, yeah?
Life is too short not to have a good laugh every so often.
I hope you all have a good and stress-free weekend!
I plan on doing as little as possible, but I just moved into my new place, so that most likely won't happen!
Lol.
I love and appreciate all of you for your time and energy, and I look forward to seeing you all back here soon enough!
Especially you, Kid.
Maybe some of the weirder, stranger, wilder, less conventional people on that side of our family will live long enough to meet you someday, yeah?
Hmm.
Time will tell, I suppose.
Have a good one, Kid.
You all as well, Folks.
And as always:
Stay safe.
Stay HEALTHY.
Stay vigilant.
-Bluu.
