Chapter 6 - Murasame (pt.II)

Captain Polestar remained silent. Lawrence, on the other hand, took a step toward the girl, trying to grasp the magnitude of what she had just implied.

—What's your relationship with him?— she asked in a low voice.

The young woman hesitated. She seemed torn between speaking and simply collapsing. Her hands trembled; she pressed them to her chest as if trying to hold a heart that didn't entirely belong to her.

—No... it's not a relationship— she whispered. —It's... resonance.

Kiriko frowned.

—Speak clearly, girl.

The young woman looked at him, with a distant gleam in her eyes, as if she were seeing through him and not at him.

—I wasn't created to have a connection with you… nor to exist outside of a machine. My name is… Vieru Murasame.

Vivian opened her eyes with a start.

—Murasame…? Like the laboratories? Like…?

—Like her—Vieru finished in a whisper, looking at the floor—. Like Four.

Charlie Buck, one of the pilots in Nemos' squadron, added to the conversation.

—Director Hayato and Captain Amuro informed us about someone named Four Murasame. They didn't give many details... but we know she's the pilot of the Psycho Gundam.

Lawrence felt a spark run down his spine.

—Were you at that base to… replace her?

Vieru shook his head gently.

—No… I don't know…

Before Vieru collapsed, Masami held her and joined the meeting, providing medical information.

—Medical tests, specifically scans and MRIs, detect high brain activity. But there are also certain elements that don't fit in the X-rays; clearly, we're dealing with…

Kiriko interrupted.

—A Cyber-Newtype. You cowardly Titans.
