Chapter 8 - Chapter 7

The longsword pierced the heart of the third follower precisely.

The follower knelt, blood gushing from beneath his thin leather armor.

His eyes, filled with surprise, lost their life.

[Progress + 0.0001%] [Progress: 3.1354% -> 3.1355%]

A mere 0.0001%.

A pathetic number considering the price of 0.3 years of his lifespan.

Jay didn't retrieve the longsword from the fallen follower's body.

Time was life now.

He chose the efficiency of saving time over the inefficiency of losing a weapon.

The longsword was the price he paid for borrowed time.

"Haa…"

Jay crouched down, breathing heavily.

The aftereffects of the joint manipulation technique manifested not as physical pain, but as mental fatigue due to the rapid depletion of his life force.

0.3 years was a short lifespan, but the pressure on his remaining life was growing stronger.

He lowered his body and searched for the old sewer entrance located at the back of the warehouse building.

A rusty iron grate blocked the entrance, and the stench of rotten water emanated from below.

[Instruction: Use the dagger to strike the sewer entrance grate (coordinates 55.10, 89.22) three times.]

Jay followed the instructions without hesitation. Only a blunted dagger remained in his hand.

He struck the three points designated by the system with the hilt of the dagger.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The old grate was silently damaged by his superhuman strength.

After three strikes, Jay grabbed the grate and pulled it down with all his might. Screech... BANG!

The rusty grate crashed to the ground with a deafening sound, revealing the entrance to a dark, cavernous sewer.

"Infidel!"

A follower's shout echoed from inside the building. Exposing the sewer entrance must have been part of the system's plan.

Exposing his infiltration route, alerting the bishop to their entry—this was another "lure."

Jay threw himself into the sewer.
