Chapter 1 - chapter 2- Birth of jealousy

As time passed, the children nancy and Joyce grew into very close friends. Their bond was pure and joyful, untouched by the complexities of the past. A few years later, both families moved to new York, and the girls were thrilled by the towering buildings, busy streets, and the promise of new beginnings.

While Lina and Julia were excited about their new life, the emotions of the adults were far more complicated. Lina, now highly successful and well-established, continued to shine in every aspect of her life. Her achievements, however, stirred old feelings of jealousy in Joyce's mother, feelings that she unknowingly passed on to her daughter.

Slowly, joyce began to feel jealous of her best friend Nancy, even though she did not fully understand why. What once was an innocent friendship now carried silent comparisons and unspoken tension.

Just two days before Nancy's birthday, Lina received unexpected news—she had to leave town for an urgent matter. As she packed her bags, unaware of what was quietly changing in the hearts around her, fate began preparing a turning point that would test friendships and reveal hidden emotions.

Nancy was about to turn nineteen, a milestone her family had been eagerly waiting to celebrate. The house was filled with quiet excitement, decorations half-done and plans whispered in corners. But fate had chosen a cruel twist for that very day.

On the same evening, Joyce met with a terrible accident. Sirens cut through the night as she was rushed to the hospital, her life hanging by a fragile thread. Doctors moved quickly, but time slipped away faster than hope.

In the cold white hospital room, Joyce opened her eyes one last time. With a trembling voice and fading breath, she whispered her final wish—that she wanted to be more successful than nancy. Standing beside her, Julia heard every word, her heart breaking as she realized how deeply jealousy had rooted itself in her daughter's soul.

Moments later, joyce was gone.

Grief consumed Joyce, but within her sorrow grew a fierce determination. She believed her daughter had left this world with an unfulfilled dream, and she made a silent promise beside the hospital bed. No matter the cost, Julia decided she would fulfill her daughter's last wish even if it meant crossing paths with destiny itself.
