"Yahoo!" With a swift movement, Hector swung his blade and sliced a goblin's head clean off.

"Yahsahshdahsh!" A nearby goblin screamed a warning to its fellows and lunged at Hector.
However, before it could close the distance, the tip of Hector's sword pierced straight through its belly. The goblin groaned in pain before collapsing.

Some of the nearby goblins began to panic as they watched their comrades die one after another. With a shrill command from a goblin leader, the rest of the horde scattered in every direction to escape Hector's slaughter.
"Damn… that was pretty embarrassing. Next time, I won't yell while fighting anymore." Hector slowly walked over to a rock to take a break and quickly summoned his system screen.

"It's pretty good. At least I've got some motivation when I see my stats improving."
He rubbed his chin while checking his innate stats. A full day had already passed since he had secretly left the academy to enter a green dungeon. He only had a few days left to boost his stats and skills before the second round of the competition began.
Because he had already changed the fate of this so-called villain, he wasn't sure what kind of enemy he might face next. That was why his top priority was improving this damn, pathetic body.
"Guess once I get two mana cores, my stats will be around an ordinary person's level. Most students probably have innate stats at C or above."
"Still, my luck and charm are terrible… Those aren't things you can just train. They're innate."
"Maybe some kind of blessing could change that."
He nodded to himself and continued searching for another horde of goblins to kill.
His goal today wasn't only to reach two mana cores; he also wanted to improve his swordsmanship through fighting goblins.
Even though goblins were the weakest beings, they were a good place to begin. At the very least, he needed to reach their level before thinking about anything else.
He rushed forward, swinging his sword—a basic attack toward a goblin.
The goblin horde had someone with a big brain and decent technique. Unluckily, Hector ran into that kind of goblin.
It easily dodged Hector's attack, then lunged at him with a maniac face.
Hector blocked the goblin's blows calmly while trying to adapt to its technique. He let the goblin think it had the upper hand.
Because of that, instead of using fatal blows, it just toyed with Hector. Well, if it knew Hector was only using it as a practice tool, it would've been furious.
After several clashes, Hector realized the goblin had nothing more to teach him. So he began to show everything he had just learned from it.
The goblin panicked at Hector's sudden strangeness, and in the final clash, it died.

Hector didn't stop to rest. He stepped over the corpse and headed toward the other goblins.
Around six hours later.

"It's strange… Maybe… this body is weaker than I thought." Hector sighed as he looked at his stats. They were terrible, even though he had already reached two mana cores.
"Well. I should learn to accept this weak body."
Hector let out a bored sigh. But just a second later, he suddenly frowned as he heard a noise coming from the north.
"Who else could be out here?"
Instinctively, Hector stood up and followed the source of the sound.
Soon enough, he saw what had caught his attention.
Carl, Violet?
He knew Carl and Violet always cleared dungeons together, so he wasn't too surprised. Still, the fact that he had picked the same green dungeon as them felt strange.
"It seems they're in trouble," Hector muttered as he glanced at the man from afar. That man gave off a dead mana aura while dealing with the protagonists.
From what Hector had heard and seen, that man wasn't a good person. As he observed him more carefully, a few things came back to mind.
Judging by the weird outfit the man was wearing, Hector could tell he was a demonic worshipper. Not only that, the man possessed five green mana cores.
Meanwhile, Violet only had three green mana cores, and Carl had two. If someone asked who would win at this point, Hector would answer without hesitation: Violet and Carl.
Either way, they were the main characters. They had skillful combat ability and high-ranking blessings.
Violet possessed the blessing of the War God—a cheat that made her powerful. She had the ability to craft weapons and armor from the void, combined with many support blessings. She was basically invincible in their generation.
On top of that, she was rational and cool-headed, always calm in every situation.
And Carl…
(Uhm… I stole his cheat, but I guess he'll get another one. The gods always favor him.)
"Let's see the protagonist's performance," Hector said, rubbing his chin as he looked for a good place to sit.
He watched them, waiting for something interesting to happen. But his face scowled when he heard Carl's shout.
"VIOLET! TRY TO HOLD ON! I'LL GO FIND SOMEONE TO HELP YOU!"
(What the hell did I expect from him? That trash trait of his is still the same.)
