Chapter 22 - Blessing of Monster God

Hector chuckled, slowly approaching the cage with a perverted expression.

It was kind of crazy—he hadn't expected he could act so professionally like that… Tsk. If he'd known he had that kind of acting talent, he would've worked as an actor in his previous world.

He opened the cage and licked his lips, gazing at Luna lustfully.

"Come on, baby, I swear I'll treat you softly."

But in the next moment, Luna suddenly tossed a handful of glitter powder at his face, intending to blind him.

Hector smiled in surprise. He used [Shadow Stepwork] to evade it. Then he took a few steps back, maintaining his distance from her.

Hector applauded, clearly amused.

"What a performance.''

Luna scowled and stepped out of the cage. She shot demon worshiper with a red mask with a look full of hostility and hatred.

She didn't expect the demon worshiper to evade her blow so easily. Even though she used Hector's glitter powder to attack him, it was still no use.

Reading Hector's movements with calculating eyes, she stepped forward a few paces before lunging at him.

She aimed her rusty knife at Hector's temple with surprising speed. But to Hector, it was painfully slow.

He lightly caught her hand, pulling it back before forcing her to the floor. In amusement, he looked at her hateful expression—yet beautiful to death.

He gently controlled her belligerent chin, then slowly leaned toward her right ear. The scent of faint perfume mixed with a soft feminine fragrance slightly stirred his nose.

"You're pretty beautiful." His gentle, low voice slipped into her right ear, making her tremble.

The next moment, he pulled back and gazed at her tearful and hatred eyes, giggling.

"I appreciate the effort, but it's useless after all."

Hector glanced at the bed nearby and smirked.

"Let's do it… Tonight, we'll make it unforgettable."

He restrained Luna slowly, dragging her toward the bed.

Her face went pale as death. The worst possible scenario was about to unfold.

"N-NO!" Luna screamed, rage and desperation mixing as she struggled to summon her monster. Her body writhed, pouring all her mana into the effort.

The powerful urge stirred something deep inside her.

"DAMN IT! I'D RATHER DIE THAN LET THIS HAPPEN!"

Her eyes burned with fury.

She cursed her weakness.

She cursed her stupidity.

She cursed her pride.

In the blink of an eye, a strange energy began to rise within her. She felt a sudden calm wash over her.

Immediately, Hector felt a chill run down his spine.

He put her on the bed and stepped back quickly, but the uneasy feeling clung to him. He didn't know whether he should feel relieved or afraid.

"S-She… she did it?"

Without a doubt, she had. Hector's heartbeat raced, sweat pouring from the pores on his body.

He lifted his sword, taking a defensive stance, as the monster slowly emerged from nowhere, summoned by Luna.

First, the gigantic hands tore through space, cracking it midair. The right hand lightly gave Luna against the basement wall while the left hand continued to rip open the space.

Soon, an empty void formed, and the hideous monster crawled out, revealing itself in the basement.

Hector shivered as he looked at the creature.

A gigantic, grotesque monster with a twisted head, with four horns emerging from its four eye sockets. The monster giggled, baring long, sharp teeth.

It slowly cracked its neck, relaxing. Each step it took sent a suffocating aura into every corner of the basement.

Not only that, the monster gradually straightened its back, revealing its true height, reaching close to the ceiling.

A gigantic humanoid-shaped monster.

It tilted its head, directing its attention to Hector, chuckling insanely.

Hector swallowed hard.

"Holy fuck! This is bad. Its mana… it's on par with someone who has 4 green-mana cores."

He couldn't understand how Luna, with only single mana cores, could summon such a terrifying creature.

It seemed impossible… Yet, thinking about the impossibility of ability that blessing with God level gave, he wasn't entirely surprised.

Just a blink of an eye, a gravitational force slammed over him, pulling him toward the hideous monster at incredible speed.

Meanwhile, the monster readied a brutal, destructive punch aimed straight at Hector.

He flinched and writhed, trying to break free from the gravitational pull, but it was useless.

He looked like a powerless fish on a cutting board, waiting for the chef's knife to come down.

"What exactly do I hope for from the blessing of God?" Hector's smile carried a hint of madness as he adjusted his stance.

The moment the distance between them shrank to just one meter, Hector began to spin like a maniac. His sword unleashed countless slashes, all aimed at severing the monster's massive hand. He didn't stop there—after narrowly evading the monster's counterattack, he quickly thrust his sword straight into it.

"It's not over yet."

Hector gritted his teeth, forcing the blade downward, trying to cut the monster in half. But only half a second later, the monster delivered a powerful, insidious punch.

Hector was sent flying, crashing into the basement wall. His jaw clenched in pain from the blow.

It felt as if he'd been hit by a punch weighing a full ton. If his mana cores were still at two, he was certain he would've died already.

"F-Fuck." Hector groaned as he glanced at his enemy. Even his vision began to blur. He was on the verge of passing out.

The monster had returned to its original state, not a single wound left on its body.

Hector scowled. He could tell—the hideous monster possessed some kind of regeneration ability.

The monster giggled psychotically, licking its lips as if eager to crush Hector again. But then it suddenly turned toward Luna, irritation flashing across its face.

At that moment, Luna was in terrible condition, her skin pale as death. And just half a second later, the monster began to slowly dissipate.

Hector blinked repeatedly at the sight before him, a slow smile spreading across his face. Anyone in this situation could guess what had happened.

Luna's mana was no longer enough to maintain the summon. After all, she only had one mana core.

"I can't miss this chance."

Ignoring his battered body, Hector forced himself to stand. He bit his lip until it bled, using the pain to stay clear-headed. Tightening his grip on the sword, he lunged at the monster.

Hector charged forward at once, unleashing every pure technique he had learned from his father.

Countless long cuts appeared across the monster's body under Hector's blade. Each slash was precise, crushing its defenses before piercing deep into its flesh.

Before long, the monster was reduced to mangled meat, riddled with endless slashes and holes.

The hideous creature clenched its teeth in fury but could do nothing—Luna's mana was no longer sufficient to keep it active.

In the end, the summon died before fully dissipating into the void.

Ting!

[A blessing of the Monster God has appeared. Do you want to receive it?]

Name: Aharok

Rank: ★★★★★

[Description]: A hideous, ferocious monster born from the domain of the Monster God. Over time, it gained the ability to control gravity and endless regenerate after devouring the mana of the Monster God—but these powers depend heavily on the summoner's mana.

"G-Great." Hector knelt to the ground in weary state, a satisfied smile on his face. He decided to rest for a while before moving on to the next steps in the dungeon.

Thirty minutes later.

He stood up and turned his attention to Luna, who had also woken up but still looked exhausted.

They needed to get out of this mine right now.

He sighed and headed toward her, but the closer he got, the more she trembled with fear.

To her, the red-masked man looked like nothing less than an actual demon. This was such a terrifying experience for her.

The hopelessness she felt before the enemy completely overwhelmed her… it left her looking like nothing more than a clueless brat.

She swore that if she made it out of this alive, she would never be lazy again.

She stared at him, pale and tense, then squeezed her eyes shut in terror.

(W-Where are you?Hector. H-Help me)

Hector scratched his head in confusion before Luna's state of fear—then remembered he still hadn't taken off his mask.

"My fault."
