Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: A Great Idea—Nails Are Super Useful

"Whoa," Kevin said, surprised to see Frank looking like that, not knowing what had happened to him. He chuckled and asked, "Frank, what the heck happened to your leg?"

Frank, using his crutches, moved pretty fast and settled down at the bar. "Some jerk—I don't know who—suddenly jumped out and broke my leg on the way back last night! If I find out who it was, I swear I'll kill him."

Dexter heard that and thought, Hey, buddy, I'm right here.

"Kevin, is the neighborhood really that rough?" Dexter asked Kevin, feigning surprise.

Kevin shook his head. "It's definitely not great, but Frank's a special case. Usually, nobody just gets their leg randomly broken."

Kevin didn't hold back at all.

Frank heard that and got defensive. "Hey, Kev, what are you saying? You think I deserved to get my leg broken?"

Kevin poured Frank a beer and set it down in front of him. "Yeah, you did."

"Oh, go to hell! After all the money I've spent in here over the years…" Frank flared up and started rambling again.

Kevin totally ignored him and went back to talking with Dexter.

At that moment, Frank had said enough. His eyes landed on the hundred-dollar bill on the bar between Dexter and Kevin. His eyes narrowed, and he asked Kevin, "What's that money for?"

"None of your business," Kevin quickly replied, then told Dexter, "Dude, put the cash away, or it might vanish in a second."

"You take it. Otherwise, I'll feel awkward coming back tomorrow. Don't worry, if I really start doing business here, I might actually need your help," Dexter responded with a smile.

Kevin thought for a moment, decided not to refuse again, and took the money. "Just let me know when you need me."

Frank understood the conversation between Dexter and Kevin. Thinking about how generous Dexter had been yesterday, his mind started working, and he came up with an idea. He said to Dexter, "Hey, little brother, you gonna start a business around here? I was born and raised here; I know this place inside and out! You cover my tab here, and I'll fill you in on how things work in this area. How about it?"

Before Dexter could even open his mouth, Kevin immediately shook his head at Dexter, warning him not to fall for it. Then, he beat Dexter to the punch, telling Frank, "Frank, drink your beer. Don't get any weird ideas."

Frank ignored him and kept trying to sell himself to Dexter. "Little brother, you're from out of town, right? Let me tell you, this area is super complicated. You won't be able to do business here without a local helping you out and explaining things. You gotta trust me. Spend a little cash, cover my tab, and I guarantee you'll save a lot of money in the long run."

Dexter grinned and shook his head. "You're Frank, right?"

Frank nodded eagerly, his face full of anticipation. "Yep."

"I think I get why someone broke your leg," Dexter said with a laugh. "I see you're pretty quick-witted. Why don't you put that mind to something useful?"

Hearing the word "useful," Frank immediately looked disgusted and started rattling off his warped logic. "What's 'useful'? You mean getting a job, working for those rich bastards? This country is designed to oppress us. If you ask me, we should all just stop working…"

Frank kept talking non-stop.

Meanwhile, Dexter had made a decision.

Shooting Frank's junk would definitely rack up some good merit points!

Thinking about that, Dexter glanced at the time and remembered something else.

Yesterday evening, he saw Lip go to Karen's house. So, following the show's storyline, this evening, that idiot Lip should be taking Ian over to Karen's place so she can, uh, take care of Ian...

'What a genius!'

Thinking about that whole scene, Dexter couldn't help but feel that maybe Lip's little friend needed a shot, too.

Disabling Lip's junk, from a certain perspective, might actually save Lip's life.

After all, looking at the entire series, Lip's ultimate downfall was partly due to his own arrogance and partly due to women...

For a moment, Dexter thought of many things.

Snapping out of it, Frank was still passionately spouting nonsense.

So loud.

Dexter didn't want to stay, deciding to go back and rest for a bit. He said to Kevin, "Looks like we'll have to chat another time. I'm heading out."

Kevin was actually enjoying his conversation with Dexter and felt like he could learn a lot, so he was annoyed to see Dexter being driven away by Frank. "Sorry, Frank's just like that. By the way, if you're free later, wanna come over to my place sometime?"

Dexter had just stood up and was pleasantly surprised to hear this, as he thought it would take some time to get invited over. "Sure, where do you live?"

"2113 North Wallace Street. I'm usually home during the day," Kevin replied.

"Cool, I'll drop by another time."

Dexter left.

As soon as Dexter was out of the Alibi Room, Frank, naturally, started grilling Kevin for information about him.

Kevin ignored him. "Drink your beer."

Frank wouldn't give up, nagging for a long time without getting a response. Frustrated, he started ranting again...

---

After leaving the Alibi Room, Dexter changed his mind. Instead of rushing back to the hotel, he hurried to a hardware store and bought a pile of iron nails, then quickly walked toward Karen's house.

He had a great idea.

Dexter stopped under the elevated train tracks outside Karen's house and leaned against one of the pillars.

He hadn't seen Lip and Ian yet. Calculating the time school ended, he figured they probably hadn't arrived, so he didn't rush to implement the plan. He spent a moment pondering the Karen situation.

Karen was undoubtedly a bitch.

Therefore, gaining merit points off Karen was totally fine.

The problem was, how?

Just run her over and turn her into a vegetable, like Mandy did later?

That was definitely an option...

'I'll keep that as a backup plan,' Dexter thought silently, unable to come up with a better idea right away.

Just then, what was supposed to happen, happened.

Lip and Ian were walking quickly toward Karen's house from a distance.

Dexter saw them and grinned. "Heh heh!"

After waiting a little longer, he saw Lip and Ian successfully enter Karen's house.

Dexter immediately took action, walking quickly to the edge of Karen's yard, and then quietly started scattering the nails.

I scatter, I scatter, I scatter again.

After the front, he scattered them on the sides.

After the sides, he scattered them in the back.

Done!

Dexter quickly retreated back under the elevated tracks, leaning against the pillar to wait for the show.

Inside Karen's house, in the dining room.

Just like in the original plot.

The bitch Karen obediently crawled under the dining table after the idiot Lip made his request and got busy with Ian...

Before long, Eddie put on his work uniform and got ready to leave for work. He noticed Karen was missing and was a little confused, but Lip talked his way out of it, so Eddie didn't pay much attention and prepared to leave. Suddenly, he accidentally knocked over an apple.

The apple rolled onto the carpet.

Eddie bent down to pick it up and saw Karen kneeling under the table, hard at work!

"Ah! Sweet Jesus!!!" Eddie went ballistic, his eyes wide as saucers, staring at Lip and Ian.

Lip and Ian exchanged a look.

The two brothers had perfect unspoken timing and immediately bolted!

"I'll kill you!!" Eddie went berserk, flipping the dining table over.

Lip and Ian were fast; they had already rushed to separate windows.

The next second, Lip and Ian smashed through the windows, landing on the ground in only their socks, without shoes.

Instantly,

"Agh!!!!"

"Fk!!!!"

Two screams that sounded painful rang out one after the other.

Both of Lip's and Ian's feet were pierced by several nails. They collapsed onto the ground, howling in agony...
