Chapter 120 - My turn.

After dinner, they went back to the room.

Wish showered first. By the time she'd changed and settled onto the edge of her bed, she could hear the water still running.

She used the time to think, which was a mistake, because thinking led back to star displays and rooftop dinners and the particular way a certain deity's expression had cracked open for three seconds before he'd sealed it back up.

She was still thinking about it when the shower stopped.

Dusk came out and crossed to his shadow bed without ceremony, dropped onto it with the ease of someone returning to a preferred habitat, and looked at her with his arms folded behind his head and his trousers sitting dangerously low on his hips.

"Don't," he said.

Wish, who had been in the process of arranging her pillow with completely innocent intentions, blinked. "Don't what?"
