Chapter 115 -  Mega Gardevoir!

The Qinglin Secret Realm, a small Secret Realm rated E-level danger, should—by all logic—have been fully explored by the League long ago.

And yet, there existed one region that no human had ever set foot in.

For a Psychic-type Mythical Pokémon like Celebi, constructing an illusion to completely shroud its living area was effortless.

At this very moment, within that hidden domain, a tall and handsome human youth stood quietly.

Opposite him was a Gardevoir.

"Gardevoir," the youth said solemnly,

"are you ready?"

"Garde!"

Gardevoir answered without hesitation.

While waiting for the wristband to be completed, Oliver had not been idle.

Mega Evolution was no trivial matter—Gardevoir itself had to undergo extensive preparation before the experiment could even begin.

To be honest, when Gardevoir first learned that it could evolve again, it had been completely stunned.

Common sense dictated that it was already in its final evolutionary form—

there was no possible further evolution.

Yet its deep trust in Oliver left it conflicted, torn between disbelief and faith.

Gardevoir took out the Mega Stone it carried and examined it carefully.

It looked… utterly ordinary.

Still, it treasured the stone and kept it close.

In the open clearing, human and Pokémon faced each other.

Not far away stood a professional camera and several pieces of high-end research equipment. These were devices Oliver had applied for after gaining fame—research instruments of the same tier as those in Lu Xinghe's laboratory, impossible to purchase on the open market.

"Mega Evolution Experiment—Trial One,"

Oliver said calmly.

"Recording begins."

Despite his composed tone, his heart was racing.

This was an evolution never before witnessed in this world—

an evolution that surpassed the limits of life itself.

Oliver wasn't certain whether he and Gardevoir could truly accomplish this miracle.

He closed his eyes.

The arm wearing the wristband rested against his chest.

His other hand gently covered the Key Stone.

At the same time, he activated both of his special powers—

Viridian Force

Psychic Power

Though darkness filled his vision, Oliver could clearly sense Gardevoir's presence nearby—and the dazzling brilliance radiating from the Mega Stone on its body.

Guided by the resonance of his two special energies, the Key Stone began to emit strange, rhythmic pulses, responding to the Mega Stone.

"Then… respond to my heart!"

"Gardevoir—Mega Evolve!"

As Oliver shouted, the Key Stone on his wristband and the Mega Stone on Gardevoir's body erupted with blinding light simultaneously.

"Garde—!"

In that instant, both Oliver and Gardevoir felt an overwhelming power surge from the two stones.

That power transformed into countless glowing white threads, linking the Key Stone and Mega Stone together as if stitching their hearts into one.

Not far away—

Two Celebi that had been engrossed in their phones,

Milotic who was training seriously,

and Garchomp resting nearby—

All sensed the sudden descent of this immense force and turned their heads at the same time.

Within those millions of luminous strands, Oliver and Gardevoir saw every moment they had shared.

Oliver holding the tiny, newly hatched Ralts in his hands…

Oliver placing food in front of a stubborn Ralts who refused to train, while he himself went hungry…

Kirlia desperately calling out from its Poké Ball as Oliver's consciousness was invaded…

Oliver teaching Kirlia how to make Energy Cubes by hand…

Countless memories flashed past.

Just as Gardevoir was immersed in those shared experiences, the white light released by the Mega Stone suddenly expanded violently, completely engulfing its body.

"Bi?"

"Nass?"

"Roar…?"

The Pokémon watching from afar were utterly stunned.

It actually worked?!

There really was an evolution beyond evolution!

Inside the brilliant light, massive life energy surged repeatedly through Gardevoir's body, merging perfectly with its own vitality.

Then—

A terrifyingly powerful aura burst outward.

The cocoon of white light shattered like glass.

And standing there—

Was a fully transformed Gardevoir.

"Garde!"

Mega Gardevoir!

Mega Gardevoir appeared far more mature than its normal form.

Its dress-like lower body extended longer and flowed more elegantly.

The red Psychic core on its chest split from one into two,

its arms turned pure white, making it look as though it were clad in a luxurious white evening gown.

Elegant.

Noble.

Overwhelming.

The pressure radiating from Mega Gardevoir was so intense that it could rival Milotic head-on.

The magnitude of Mega Evolution's boost was unmistakable.

"It worked," Oliver said, smiling softly.

He had originally expected to require multiple experiments.

Yet the very first Mega Evolution attempt succeeded.

Oliver summoned the system interface.

Mega Gardevoir's data appeared before him.

Pokémon: Mega Gardevoir

Level: Gym Level – Early Stage

Potential: Elite Four Level

Ability: Pixilate

Held Item: Gardevoir Mega Stone

Moves:

Teleport, Draining Kiss, Dazzling Gleam, Moonblast, Heal Pulse, Psychic, …

The jump in power was staggering.

Mega Gardevoir had crossed an entire major tier, leaping from Veteran Early Stage straight into Gym Level Early Stage.

Everyone present—human and Pokémon alike—stared in shock.

Milotic's expression turned serious.

She had always been the undisputed big sister of the team, her strength reigning supreme.

But now—

Gardevoir had caught up in one leap.

A deep sense of crisis welled up within her.

Is my position as the eldest about to be threatened?

Garchomp also looked shaken.

He had always accepted being below Big Sister Milotic and Second Sister Gardevoir—after all, he joined the team later.

But now the gap had suddenly widened by an entire tier.

Was his talent inferior?

No.

Garchomp rejected that idea immediately.

If it wasn't talent, then it could only mean one thing—

He wasn't working hard enough.

Silently, Garchomp doubled tomorrow's training plan in his mind.

Only then did he feel slightly at ease.

"Mega Gardevoir," Oliver said, eyes bright,

"let's test your power."

"Use Moonblast on that boulder."

Mega Gardevoir's Special Attack had soared to a terrifying 165 base value.

Oliver couldn't wait to see just how destructive it was.

Mega Gardevoir began gathering energy—

And in that moment, it realized something astonishing.

The amount of power it could command now was vast beyond imagination.

Both Psychic-type and Fairy-type energies had undergone a fundamental qualitative transformation.

And as the moonlight began to condense—

The true might of Mega Evolution was about to be revealed.
