Chapter 5 - Part 5: I’m Not Okay, But I’m Alive

They never reached a point where everything became easy.

Life didn't suddenly turn bright.Their wounds didn't disappear.

But one morning, they realized something important.

They woke up without hating themselves.

The weight was still there—in their mind, their chest, their uncertain days.

But now, they no longer fought themselves.

They stopped forcing strength.Stopped feeling guilty for being tired.

They learned one simple truth:

Not being okay does not mean failure.

There are days when they still want to give up.Nights when fear knocks again.A future that still feels unclear.

But now, when those moments come, they don't immediately run away.

They sit with them. They breathe. They stay.

They no longer ask,

"When will I arrive?"

They ask,

"What do I need today?"

And often, the answer is simple:

Rest.Honesty.One small step without pressure.

That night, they closed the notebook that had accompanied them for so long. Not with satisfaction, but with quiet peace.

They knew their life wasn't finished being written. And they also knew—

They didn't have to finish it tonight.

Before sleeping, they wrote one last sentence:

I'm not okay. But I'm alive.

It didn't sound heroic.It wasn't impressive.

But to them, it was the most honest victory.

Because life isn't always about rising perfectly.

Sometimes, life is simply about staying—when leaving would be easier.

And they chose to stay.

They are still here.

And this time, they know—

That isn't just enough.

It matters.
