Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 Let It Rain

While Zod and his men waited for the spaceship to finish charging, a native, dressed strangely and with his face painted with various symbols, approached them, bowing with each step.

A warrior was about to stop him, but Zod waved his hand, signaling him to stop.

When the native reached Zod, he prostrated himself devoutly, speaking a series of native words, then remained in a kneeling position.

Zod casually asked the scientist beside him, "Leto, can you decipher what he said?"

"General, I already scanned all the written and graphic symbols in this area and have completed the deciphering of their language and writing."

Hearing this, Zod paused slightly, then showed a faint smile: "Well done, Leto."

Upon receiving Zod's praise, Leto merely showed a calm smile, though his heartbeat had quickened.

He continued, "General, from their written records, I discovered that we are not the first to visit this planet. Other civilizations have been here as early as eight thousand years ago, leaving behind the seeds of civilization."

"It's just that I don't know why this planet's civilization has developed so slowly. Even now, it hasn't even entered the industrial age."

It was no wonder Leto was puzzled; with the seeds of advanced civilization left behind, this planet should not have developed so slowly.

However, everything before him indicated that they were indeed still in the agricultural age.

Zod had little interest in this planet's civilization and directly asked, "Tell me, what did he just say?"

"General, he has taken you for one of the gods they worship. Their country is currently suffering from a drought, and he wants to ask you to bring rain to this country."

Zod pondered for a moment, and at this very instant, the system's prompt reappeared in his mind:

"Ding! Detecting that the host is receiving devout worship from a believer, please bestow a miracle, taking the first step towards godhood. Reward: Roulette Draw +1!"

The moment the system appeared, Zod had no hesitation!

He then looked at Leto: "Since we are extracting the energy from their planet's core, we should make some compensation. So, is it troublesome to help them bring rain before the spaceship finishes charging?"

"It's very simple, General, just basic meteorological methods."

"Then grant them a heavy rain!"

"Yes, General!"

Listening to their conversation, the other Kryptonian warriors couldn't help but murmur to themselves, "When did the General become so benevolent?"

Only Fiora was not surprised by this; she knew the reason for all the changes happening to Zod.

Before long, under Leto's operation, the transport ship they had originally arrived in flew out and fired several energy pulses into the sky above the area.

Just ten minutes later, countless water vapors began to gather high in the sky, and even the air started to become humid.

When the raindrops truly fell, the kneeling native worshipped Zod even more frantically.

Then he raised his hands, allowing the rainwater to collect in them, and finally, with a devout expression, he drank that handful of water.

Fiora walked over and spoke with some emotion, "General, after this event, you might truly occupy a place in their beliefs from now on!"

Hearing this, Zod shook his head, then slowly said, "If that were truly the case, it would perhaps be another misfortune for them!"

Zod clearly knew how much a false belief could impact a civilization.

This time, they prayed to him and received a timely rain, alleviating the drought. But when he leaves, who will bring them rain and dew next time?

False beliefs might become shackles that impede social progress.

At this moment, he already had some answers to Leto's earlier confusion.

He didn't understand why this civilization developed so slowly even after acquiring the seeds left by a more advanced civilization.

Perhaps it was because they mistakenly used the seeds, which should have propelled their development, elsewhere!

When the spaceship finished charging, the once torrential rain also softened.

The system prompt in Zod's mind also sounded at the appropriate time:

"Ding! Congratulations to the host for completing the descent of a miracle, gaining Roulette Draw +1!"

"Let's go, it's time to continue our journey!"

With that, Zod's body flew into the air and headed towards the spaceship.

Fiora didn't quite understand what Zod said, but she followed closely. However, before entering the spaceship, she still looked back deeply at the native inhabitants of the planet who were still prostrating on the ground.

Long after Zod and his men left, the natives dared to look up at the spaceship, which was long out of sight.

"General, next we will begin our first ultra-long-distance jump. This process will last for three natural hours."

"Begin!"

As Zod's words fell, the spaceship immediately entered super-acceleration mode and instantly vanished.

Since Krypton began its full contraction, such long-distance interstellar travel had become rare. Even for Zod and his men, this was their first time undertaking such a long-distance jump.

If they were still ordinary people, they might have felt a slight discomfort, but now there would be no effect whatsoever.

Seizing this opportunity, Zod directly used the draw chance he had just acquired!

"Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining an energy crystal. This item comes from the Armor Hero XT world and is a planetary Life Stone that connects the cosmic magnetic field with the reproduction of life. Integrating it into a planet can revitalize a dead planet."

Looking at the item he had obtained this time, this body trembled instinctively.

Perhaps for the original Zod, if he had possessed such an energy crystal, he might have been able to save the dying Krypton!

"Don't worry, a brand New Krypton will be reborn in my hands. In the future, I will make the name of New Krypton known throughout the entire multiverse."

After silently speaking these words in his heart, the trembling of his body stopped, and at this moment, Zod felt that he truly controlled this body.

He then focused his attention on the newly acquired energy crystal, which was a green, prismatic crystal. Although it didn't look large, Zod felt a terrifying life energy emanating from it.

Moreover, the energy crystal was enveloped by a peculiar natural magnetic field, preventing the energy within from leaking out.

"I didn't expect to obtain this item this time. With this, perhaps I won't have to bother searching for a new life-sustaining planet to rebuild Krypton!"

Originally, Zod had planned to have his subordinates search for a suitable life-sustaining planet to rebuild Krypton after obtaining the codex.

As for Earth, regardless of the considerations, he had never thought of transforming it into New Krypton.

But now with the energy crystal, he had more options!

After three consecutive jumps, the spaceship had appeared outside the Solar System.

The familiar scene ahead was something Zod had seen countless times in various sci-fi movies in his previous life.

Looking at that azure blue planet again, even though he knew this was not the world of his previous life, Zod still couldn't hide his excitement.
