Chapter 4 - Awakening

The silence shattered into chaos.

"That's impossible—"

"Three attributes?!"

"White, black, & gold…?"

Teachers rushed forward immediately. One of them raised a hand, silencing the crowd with a single motion.

"Everyone, remain calm," he said, though his eyes never left me.

I slowly pulled my hand away. This is bad I thought to myself.

White represented lightning, strength, and power

Black represented destruction, the unknown, and death.

Golden represented divinity, overwhelming potential, and a secret power only I knew about

I had never seen the three coexist

"What's your name?" the teacher asked.

"Luke Harold."

His expression tightened—just for a moment.

"Step aside. You'll be evaluated separately."

Of course I would be, I thought to myself as I walked away. I felt the emotions of the students as they eyed me. Fear, envy, curiosity, greed.

A translucent screen flickered into existence before my eyes.

Don't act surprised, I thought bitterly. You dragged me back for this, didn't you?

I was escorted into a reinforced room etched with glowing runes. More figures arrived—some in uniforms, others in armor.

Elites.

A silver-haired woman studied me like a weapon.

"White, black, and gold," she murmured. "It's never happened before."

Another screen appeared.

"…level up," I muttered. Of course.

I leaned back, unfazed by the tension in the room.

Then suddenly inside me, something old stirred—something dangerous. My thoughts began to consume me as the elites mumbled amongst themselves.

My madness began to emerge

Thoughts of killing and total chaos filled me as I closed my eyes and leaned against the chair.

Time froze
