Chapter 1 - Prologue, Wheel

In a void of eternal white, a small wisp came to be.

It lingered without thought, perhaps for a day, maybe a year, or maybe even millennia. Eventually, a change occurred in this divine realm.

A gate of ethereal purple manifested deep within the void, expanding tendrils of a misty darkness. The tendrils wrapped around themselves, convulsing and pulsing with divine energy.

A shape formed. A humanoid manifestation of a concept beyond understanding, rippling through the omnidimensional fabric of the void.

It approached the wisp, its nature curious.

And so it spoke.

A soul in my realm? How intriguing…

It extended its right arm, space unfolding before it. The wisp was brought close, its properties clear for observation.

A human soul no less. A powerless one. Young one, how have you found yourself in this space?

The wisp shuddered, an intrinsic property within itself changing at once. Thoughtless became thoughtful, an object turned alive.

'What…?' I thought.

Where in the abyss of certain holes was this?!

Just a few minutes ago—no, scratch that—a few seconds ago, I was lying comfortably in my house watching Game of Thrones…

So what in the sweaty scent of those voids was this?

Hah. Interesting…

A voice called out within my very consciousness. I could not sense anything, so all I had were my thoughts.

'That scared the living-crap out of me. Who speaks out like that!?'

Little one, it appears an error brought you here. Would you like me to return you home?

Home? So I can go back?!

'Yes, please, divine-sounding father!'

Well, too bad, since I'm keeping you here. This is far too interesting to end that early.

Great. So I was stuck with this voice in my head now? At least I didn't have any brothers, sisters, parents, aunts, uncles, grandfathers, grandmothers, fr-friends… Never mind, I can stay here forever.

Who said I'm keeping you here for eternity? I have things to do, too, you know?

So I am going home? Well, now I don't want to anymore. 'Hey, voice thing! Send me home with three girlfriends and a family, please!'

No.

Ah. So it was a weak entity. Never mind then, I thought this was one of those ROBs that could do anything.

My name is not Rob, and regarding your imagination—I can do it all. But no, I won't send you back just yet.

Yet?

How about we play a game?

Hell no.

Trust me, you won't regret it.

Triple hell no.

Too bad. We'll play it anyway.

Immediately, my sight returned, and white blinded me.

In a few seconds, the light gently turned down in intensity, and a…ginormous, large, huge, whatever words could be used, wheel was in front of me.

You have three spins. The first will determine your world, the second your cheat, and the third your background.

So this was a ROB! But what about that divinely flavored 'yet'? Won't I return home? Not that I'm complaining, so long as things go well.

Should you grow powerful enough, you can bring yourself home. Now, call out, and the wheel shall spin.

Ok, great, good, amazing. So I just call out, right? 'Anything?'

Call out appropri—

'Tits!'

The wheel spun, and space shook. The words were much too fast to read, practically infinite, and spinning beyond what sight could tell.

Eventually, it stopped.

[World: Jujutsu Kaisen, Variant #810263619]

'So reality was always multiversal, huh.'

JJK as a world wasn't too bad. It was certainly better than things like where a certain "AM" resided, or bug-looking gene-altering abominations, or comics like Marvel and DC, or Warhammer 40K, or—

Ok, that's enough. Call again.

'Jeez, patient much? But since you asked so nicely—'

No-

'Ass!'

The wheel spun again.

And so it stopped.

[Gift Type: System | Gift: Yggdrasil-Game Interface, Variant #6967, Origin: Overlord]

Ok ok. JJK, with Yggdrasil's system as a cheat. Not too bad. There were a few things that could be done. Worst-case scenario, I could just live my life away from Japan.

Time for the final spin!

'Dick!'

The wheel spun faster than any eye could see, never slowing down, before suddenly stopping at once.

[Background: You are an orphaned child of Japanese descent, your father was Japanese, your mother Middle Eastern. You live in the Nerima Ward, in the Western Tokyo region. Due to the classified services of your father, your living is funded by the government. You will receive an average monthly allowance of 155 thousand Yen, to be increased later in life]

Great. So I was right next to Jujutsu High.

Well, things weren't that bad. If I timed things right, I should be able to avoid most incidents. Obviously, it would be wise of me to get strong—but I need to check the system first.

Good luck.

'Good luck? Alre—'

Lights faded away. A strong pulling sensation overcame me, and my consciousness dulled.

Before I knew it, I was standing in… another white space.
