Chapter 2 - Chapter Two

Quintiel's POV.

It's strange..

Out of all the humans, she's the only one who's memory I can't read?

Just like Osam–

No.

'Osam Nirit is not Nirit Zarin.' They're two different beings. I confirmed that myself.

But looking at her now, I'm only seeing more questions than answers.

This is getting complicated.

I shouldn't even be here to begin with.

Nirit's POV.

Quintiel kept looking at me. I caught his gaze several times whilst the Principal was addressing us.

"You may both leave. Detention is after school hours." Principal Cornette said, "Be Punctual!"

I decided to skip the rest of classes and prep for the day and stay in the wash room.

'Beautiful Beams Before Storm' Quintiel was right. That wasn't a great title.

I searched my bag for the booklet, but then something strange began to happen.

My fingers started to wither.. into blue dust. Not only them, but my entire body too until..

.. Swish. I dispersed. Or vanished?

I reappeared in a strange place. The environment looked like a forest but there where sparkles everywhere.

Nothing was green in colour. Just shades of blue and purple. Even the trees were violet and the sky was a mix of gradient pink and blue.

The sound of footsteps startled me.

Without thinking, I jumped into a nearby bushe to hide from.. whoever it was.

Then I saw her. She looked like a human, but prettier. Almost unreal, like someone straight out of a fairytale.

Snow blue hair, white skin, tall figure. Her silver gown laced with purple patterns flowed graciously behind her as she walked past me, oblivious of my presence.

I couldn't quite capture her look completely, but from what I saw, she could make Disney's Frozen look like a fraud.

"Who's there?!"

Some how, she noticed me.

'No' I shook my head. This is just another dream. Sooner or later, I'll wake up.

"Show yourself!--" She drew out a sword from underneath her silver cloak. "--Now!!"

I gulped hard. Real or not, dying wasn't on my to-do list.

"Forgive my intrusion.." I stepped out of my hiding place, hands in the air, surrendering.

Right now, I'm going to seize this opportunity to find out about most of what I'm missing out on.

'She said she'll skip only classes and prep. Then why isn't she here yet.' Quintiel looked around with boredom.

'I was really looking forward to what she would write next in that novel.. Whether it would affect the flow of things in my realm or Whisper-Realm.'

Finally, at the snap of the little patience he had, he stood up and walked over to the teacher in charge of detention.

".."

Before the Supervisor could utter a word, Quintiel spoke first.

"I never left." his golden eyes fixed on the teacher's eyes. "Nirit Zarin was here too, and we were both of good behaviour; none of us got off our seats till detention was over."

The supervisor's pupils dilated as he repeated the same words that Quintiel had just said like a spelled puppet.

Just as Quintiel left, the supervisor pulled out his record book and scored Quintiel and Nirit's overall performance 10 out of 10.

Nirit's POV

The Fairy sighed on seeing me. Like she was relieved it wasn't someone else.

"Um.. sorry for interrupting.. whatever you were doing."

" No, you weren't interrupting anything." She paused and looked at me. "You don't seem to be interested in practice like the others."

"..."

She shrugged," No weaponry, just a wand and simple clothing?"

I blinked. What did she mean..?

No, this was starting to not feel like a dream. Because instead of my school dark cologne blue blazers and white skirt, I was dressed in an unusual Greek garment - silver skirt and brace with transparent silk overall. Which, beyond any doubt was supposed to serve as wings.

Great. Now I've completely lost my mind.

What freaked me out more was the wand stuck to my left hand with a weird web thingy.

"If I may ask. Where are the others? Erm.."

" Cilicia. I am Princess Cilicia." She spoke, " And by the others, dear Osam; do you mean your fellow Osams?"

"E-he.." They're not going to quit this 'Osam' thing now, are they? Guess I'm left with no choice.

"Yes. By that, I meant them." I replied.

" They're in the Field. Not a far flight from here." The princess said.

She sat on the flower-covered ground. Pulling out a crystal flute.

That was my clue to leave.

" I'd advise you put on your uniformed cloak before setting off. The captain wouldn't want to see you dressed like that."

I turned around.

"But it doesn't offend you as the princess. Why should I care what the others think?"

Cilicia smiled, " I've found you quite amusing from the first day we met, so, It doesn't matter much to me whether you go by the rules or not. But try not to offend the other higher-ups. You can't find favour in their sight."

By the time I got to the Field, I saw thousands of fairies. It was a long walk since I didn't know how my wings work. Or if they were even wings to begin with.

The field sure looked like any regular sports field, but instead of green carpet, I was welcomed by stoned floor with no equipment in sight.

The Osams were engaging themselves in duel combats which was kinda fun to watch.

At least, till I was spotted.

Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked straight at me.

A tall, and I mean, VERY tall fairy came flying towards me. From the way everyone bowed, he had to be the Captain Cilicia mentioned earlier.

He glared at me.

And pointing to my linen, which.. for some reason, he assumed were wings.

"Why are they visible?"

I looked at everyone else and clearly understood what he meant. Fairies or Osams? aren't meant to use their wings when training. It defeats the whole essence of full body trails.

"But I don't have a--"

A weight hung over my back. I saw Quintiel from over my shoulder. He placed a cloak around me and smiled.
