V.G.D. Second Experimental Base, outdoor testing field.

"Gravity parameters stable, spatial anchor locked."

Jane Foster, wearing a white lab coat and holding a data pad, had a focused gaze.

"Interstellar Jump Experiment, September 24, 2014, 226th test, Group 2."

"This experiment is to test connection stability. No specific coordinates were set; the program is set to randomly capture an active spatial node for connection."

Under her command, dozens of Vought technicians were busy around a massive ring-shaped device.

"Professor Selvig, how are the phase readings?" Jane shouted loudly.

Not far away, Professor Erik Selvig was hunched over a console, waving his hands excitedly.

Since being "enlightened" by the Mind Stone during the Battle of New York, the Professor's mental state had been on the edge of hyper-excitement, but his thinking had also become exceptionally active.

"Perfect! Simply perfect! Jane!"

Professor Selvig's face was flushed with excitement, waving his homemade device that looked much like a detector.

"With your data from Asgard, the theoretical model of the Rosen Bridge is finally closed-loop! We no longer need to rely on astronomical wonders like the Convergence; we can create wormholes ourselves! Artificial! Controllable!"

Jane's eyes lit up, then she turned to look at a burly man carrying a heavy lead box.

The man wore a plain gray work T-shirt, his biceps straining against the sleeves. He carried several-hundred-kilogram coolant tanks as if he were carrying bags of cotton.

Thor Odinson.

The former Thor, now... a senior laboratory porter.

"Thor, inject the coolant into tank 3," Jane commanded.

"Copy that, boss."

Thor answered crisply. He walked to tank 3, unscrewed the valve—which normally required hydraulic pliers—with one hand, and poured the coolant in with a "glug-glug."

After finishing, he walked to Jane's side like a large golden retriever waiting for praise.

"Anything else you need me to do, Jane?"

"Not for now. Stand back, don't get hit by radiation," Jane said without looking up.

"Radiation can't hurt me; I'm a god," Thor chuckled, but still obediently retreated behind the safety line.

He looked at Jane, his eyes full of infatuation, mixed with a hint of loss.

Since Jane lifted mjolnir and became The Mighty Thor, she had become increasingly confident and radiant.

Having lost his hammer, though he didn't want to admit it, he indeed felt... a bit redundant.

"Even as a porter, I'll be the best one," Thor clenched his fist, psyching himself up.

"Everyone, evacuate behind the bunkers!"

Jane's voice rang through the field via the broadcast.

"Interstellar Jump Experiment, first attempt. Countdown ten seconds!"

"10, 9, 8..."

As the countdown proceeded, the massive metal ring began to emit a low hum.

Blue electric arcs leaped within the center of the ring.

"...3, 2, 1! Launch!"

Professor Selvig pressed the red start button.

"Vrrr—!!!"

A loud boom sounded, as if space itself let out a groan.

A massive energy beam injected into the ring, and the air in the center began to distort violently, instantly forming a hexagonal honeycomb-like light screen.

That was the jump point.

A gate connecting to unknown coordinates in the Universe.

"Energy output stable! Spatial curvature is rising!" Jane stared at the data and shouted, "50%... 70%... 90%!"

"Boom—!"

In the center of the ring device, space seemed to be torn apart by a giant invisible hand.

A black vortex about five meters in diameter appeared out of thin air.

"Data normal! Spatial tunnel stable!" Professor Selvig shouted, "We did it! We opened the door!"

"Wait..." Jane suddenly frowned, "Something... doesn't seem right."

"What's wrong?" Thor approached alertly.

"This door... seems to be 'two-way'." Selvig's face changed, "It... it's overlapping with a spatial coordinate moving at high speed!"

"Overlapping?" Jane was stunned, "You mean, someone is using this jump point?"

"Look here... something is coming!" Professor Selvig stared at the energy monitor and shouted nervously, "It's performing consecutive jumps!"

"Shut it down! Quickly, shut down the jump point!" Jane shouted.

"It's too late!"

"Bang—!!!"

The hexagonal light screen suddenly expanded outward like a bursting balloon.

Immediately after, a strangely shaped small spaceship, covered in patches and scorch marks, tumbled out of the light screen in a wretched state.

The ship rolled and bounced on the ground, its engines sputtering intermittent sparks, finally sliding a dozen meters across the ground and knocking over a pile of instruments before stopping amidst a cloud of dust.

The dust settled.

The ship was seen emitting black smoke and making a "sizzling" cooling sound.

"Is that... an alien ship?" Professor Selvig looked closely; he was already used to seeing alien ships.

"Doesn't look like regular military," Thor gave his judgment, "The style of this ship... is a bit like the Raiders."

Jane didn't hesitate for a moment; she reached out her right hand and grasped at the void.

"Mjolnir!"

The Mjolnir, which had been hanging on a rack in the lab, sensed the call and instantly shot through the air, landing steadily in her palm.

"Rumble!"

Thunder roared, and silver-shining Asgardian armor covered her body, her red cape unfurling in the wind.

The Mighty Thor, Jane Foster, appeared.

Beside her, Thor looked at his majestic girlfriend, then at his empty hands.

He looked left and right, and finally grabbed a size 300 industrial wrench.

He rushed in front of Jane immediately, shielding her behind him.

"Stay behind me, Jane!"

"Don't get in the way, dummy!" Jane shoved him aside with a hammer, "Watch yourself!"

Just then, the hatch of the battered ship made a sound of twisting metal.

"Clang!"

The hatch was kicked flying from the inside.

Then, three figures stumbled out of the smoke.

Walking at the front was a blue-skinned guy. He wore a dark red trench coat and had a metal fin on his head that looked like a red cockscomb.

"Blegh—!"

He leaned on his knees and vomited a puddle of multi-colored liquid.

Beside him, was that a bipedal raccoon?

This raccoon wore a tactical vest, carried an energy gun larger than its body, and cursed while shaking its head.

"Oh, shit..."

"That was a fucking terrible idea! 700 jumps?! My nipples are going to be stretched down to my knees!"
