Chapter 1 - Prologue : "System Error "

Reitte should've known something was wrong the moment his phone froze.

Not "normal lag" frozen.

Not "your storage is full" frozen.

But glitching like a possessed disco light frozen.

The screen flickered, pixels danced, and then—

[SYSTEM ERROR: LOADING UNFINISHED ROUTE]

"Huh? What route? I didn't click anything—"

Before he could blink, the light swallowed him whole.

---

Reitte woke up lying on cold marble floors.

High ceilings.

Golden pillars.

A giant chandelier that looked like it wanted to fall on him.

Definitely not his bedroom.

He sat up with a groan.

"Okay… either I'm dreaming, dead, or my phone finally exploded."

Then he noticed something worse.

NPCs.

Everywhere.

Fancy nobles walked past him with expressions like they had only two moods:

"elegant" and "judging you."

Reitte's eyes widened.

He knew these faces.

These clothes.

This hallway.

No, no, no—

This was Aveline Academy, the starting location of the otome game he used to play.

The one where the villain, Reol Aveline, gets betrayed, loses everything, and eventually dies in every single route.

Reitte shot to his feet.

"Oh no. Oh NO. I'm in that game—?"

[NEW QUEST: Assist the Villain to Reach His Destined Ending]

"What? Why me?!"

[Failure to complete quest will result in permanent residency.]

"…Permanent WHAT!?"

Before Reitte could argue with the invisible system ruining his day, a cold voice echoed down the hallway.

"Who are you?"

Reitte froze.

Standing at the end of the corridor was Reol Aveline himself — silver hair, dark uniform, and the exact expression of someone who stabbed people for interrupting his morning.

Great.

Reitte hadn't even been here five minutes and he had already triggered a death flag.

The villain narrowed his eyes.

"You're not supposed to be here."

Reitte tried to smile.

Wattpad would've written his thoughts as:

Ah. So this is how I die.
