Chapter 124 - Chapter 124: Controlling Angel Island

Chapter 124: Controlling Angel Island

Angel Island.

Angel Island sat beside God Island, built upon island-cloud. Its buildings were all made of cloud-rock, and a large number of Angel Island residents lived atop it.

The moment the Dragon Flame appeared near Angel Island, it was immediately spotted.

A squadron of God's Guards emerged at the island's shore—twenty in total, weapons in hand.

"What is that…"

"Look…"

Some Angel Island residents had noticed a black shape in the sky growing larger and larger.

It quickly stopped in midair a hundred meters before them, its massive silhouette darkening the sky.

"Heavens… it's a gigantic bird…"

"Where did it come from!"

"It's headed this way—run!"

Angel Island's residents screamed in terror, rushing back into their homes.

The Wind God Pterosaur was already hovering above the God's Guards. Their faces tightened as they stared at this enormous "bird," gripping their weapons hard.

They could only hope this "bird" was just passing by.

It was simply too large. Before this creature, they felt as insignificant as pebbles.

Hum!!

Two violent gusts blasted downward from the Wind God Pterosaur's wings.

"Ah…"

"Ah…"

The wind scattered the so-called God's Guards instantly, flinging them through the air and slamming them into the ground, each landing with a painful groan.

Boom!

The Wind God Pterosaur touched down nearby, its enormous frame looming over them.

But it didn't kill them.

Sky Island's population wasn't large—far fewer than a single town down below. Otherwise the island wouldn't have such a small guard force.

Thud!

The Dragon Flame moored at the coast.

The Shandia warriors were the first to rush out.

This was a rare opportunity. Most of the guards were on God Island, leaving Angel Island with only a small contingent.

Now that these guards had all been knocked flat by the "big bird," all they had to do was secure the area.

And in truth, the Shandia didn't have many fighters either—barely over twenty.

Jiang Qize stepped ashore, and behind him Bucky escorted Gan Fall.

When the residents of Angel Island saw that their 'god' had been captured, they were stunned speechless.

...

Marine Headquarters.

Fleet Admiral's office.

"What…" A voice rang out, filled with disbelief.

Bang!

A thunderous crash followed.

The office, already weakened, finally gave out and split cleanly in half.

Sengoku, sitting on the sofa, nearly jumped from fright.

"What happened?" Sengoku looked at Kong in confusion. What could shock him to this degree?

Kong drew a deep breath and hung up the Den Den Mushi.

Then he turned toward Sengoku.

"The Dragon Flame Pirates used an updraft to reach Sky Island—and they have a powerful pterosaur with them."

Kong's voice was low.

"Sky Island?" Sengoku's brows tightened as well.

"Mhm. Even Garp couldn't capture him." Kong's expression darkened.

It wasn't the Dragon Flame Pirates themselves—it was the fact that they had failed to complete the mission assigned by the World Gov·ernment. Now that the Dragon Flame Pirates had escaped to Sky Island, capturing them again would be far more difficult.

"The New World is in chaos," Sengoku said gravely. "The newly formed Red-Haired Pirates are even more dangerous than the Dragon Flame Pirates. Red-Haired Shanks used to be a member of Gol D. Roger's crew—and Roger even passed that hat down to him."

"And Charlotte Linlin is currently fighting. If she wins, the seas will see the rise of a second monarch. That would be extremely disadvantageous for us."

"So our priority must be the New World. The Dragon Flame Pirates probably won't grow significantly in the short term. We shouldn't let them distract us."

"Mhm. That's all we can do."

Kong rubbed his forehead, speaking in a low voice.
