Chapter 41 - Miss Mira’s Overwhelming Protection

As night fell, Kazuma stepped out of the Yoshida residence and immediately noticed a black Maybach parked nearby.

He glanced at Mira beside him, then at the car.

So this is how rich women travel.

Mira winked at him casually, her usual commanding aura fully on display.

Saki Yoshida, meanwhile, barely noticed the luxury car. Her eyes were fixed on the police vehicles—and on the man being restrained.

Even subdued, he stared at her with bloodshot eyes filled with madness and resentment. Unable to speak, he only emitted hoarse, eerie laughter.

Saki felt only disgust and lingering fear. She instinctively clung to Kazuma, drawing comfort from his warmth and presence.

"Kazuma…"

"It's okay," he said gently, patting her back. His gaze turned cold. "That man will never appear in front of you again. I—"

Mira Tsubakihara interrupted at just the right moment, a calm smile on her lips.

"You don't need to do anything, Kazuma. I'll take care of it. Don't worry—he'll never get out. I'll make sure he dies in prison."

Before anyone could respond, the stunningly beautiful woman suddenly leaned closer to Kazuma's face. A faint, fragrant breeze brushed against him as she whispered softly into his ear.

"Kazuma, no one will ever know your secret. Understand?"

"!!!"

Kazuma's pupils shrank. He was just about to grab her and demand answers when Miss Mira lightly stepped back, nimble as an eel, giving him no chance at all. She winked at him with her large, sparkling eyes, her smile tinged with unmistakable ambiguity.

"…"

This woman…

"Why are you here? And why did you bring so many police officers?" Kazuma glanced at the officers nearby, who weren't paying her any attention, and asked with a puzzled expression. "Do you even know what happened here?"

"Well, you could call it a telepathic connection," Mira replied, lightly pressing her manicured fingers to her lips. "Kazuma, our deep bond allowed me to sense what happened."

A bond? What nonsense.

Still, he had to admit that this woman's bizarre kindness had helped him resolve a lot of trouble. He had originally planned to ask Izumi Nogami for help, but she still hadn't shown up. Had she really stood him up?

Seeing his indifferent reaction, Mira Tsubakihara shook her head helplessly.

"I told the truth, but he simply wouldn't believe me."

As Saki Yoshida listened to Kazuma's conversation with the strange woman and overheard the murmurs of the surrounding police officers, the anxiety and tension weighing on her chest gradually eased. But the very next moment, her mother's shrill scream pierced the air from inside the house.

"What are you doing?! Where are you taking him?!"

The woman rushed out, her expression feral.

Saki Yoshida's mother—no longer gentle as she once was—was now consumed by rage.

"Saki! You shameless daughter! How could you do something like this to your own father?! You filthy slut! You despicable, shameless thing!"

"And you people too!" she screamed at the officers. "It was Saki who seduced my husband! She was the one who did it! So why are you arresting my husband?! You bunch of bastards!!!"

Saki's lips trembled as she stared at her mother in disbelief. The woman who had once been kind and gentle was now cursing her like a crazed shrew. She couldn't believe her own mother could say such vicious things.

Kazuma was stunned.

Was this… really a human being?

"I was wondering," he said coldly, "how someone like you could even call herself a mother."

"What's it to you?!" the woman screeched. "Even if my husband did something, that's our family business!" Her voice grew more hysterical by the second. "Saki! He's still your father! Even if he did such a thing, why couldn't you sit down and talk it through? Instead, you teamed up with outsiders against your own family, you treacherous little bitch!"

"He and I are not family!" Saki laughed bitterly through her tears, shouting back at her. "That disgusting beast deserves to rot in prison! My only family is Kazuma—only him!"

"You—! You adulterers! You shameless bastards!!!"

Kazuma laughed in anger. What a pair of scum. No wonder they became husband and wife—they were exactly the same kind of trash. She had probably known from the very beginning that her daughter was the victim and that her husband was lying.

She had simply chosen to pretend otherwise.

If he hadn't arrived in time using the Anywhere Door, no one knew how tragic Saki Yoshida's fate might have been.

Smack!

Suddenly, Mira Tsubakihara stepped forward, her expression icy, and slapped the woman hard across the face, sending her crashing to the ground. The orange-haired woman spoke coldly.

"This matter had nothing to do with you. But since you dared to insult Kazuma, you can go down together with him."

Her beautiful eyes were sharp and merciless as she waved her hand.

"Take them all."

Mira Tsubakihara fiercely protected her husband.

Kazuma was completely stunned.

"Saki—Saki!" the woman screamed as she was dragged away. "This family was ruined because of you!"

Once everything settled, Kazuma looked down at the girl beside him, who was quietly sobbing. His lips twitched as he gently pulled her into his arms and pressed her head against his chest.

"There's no need to cry over people like that. Getting rid of them is a good thing. But… you probably won't be able to return to this family anymore."

Saki buried her face against his chest and slowly shook her head.

"I don't want to go back. I don't want to stay in this house anymore."

"Kazuma… I'll leave with you. I'll follow you from now on. Will you stay with me?" Saki lifted her head, her eyes red and swollen as she pleaded softly.

Kazuma felt that if he refused now, she would probably cry herself blind.

"Saki… you know, I'm actually homeless too."

"I don't care," Saki said with a tearful laugh, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck as if afraid that letting go would bring the nightmare back.

"If you sleep in the park, I'll sleep there with you. If you live under a bridge, I'll live there too. Even if we're homeless, I'll stay with you."

She sobbed as she begged,

"I don't want to be separated from you. I don't want to leave you."

Hearing her cry like that, his heart softened.

"Alright, alright, we won't separate. Don't cry anymore."

"It's a promise," Saki said with a choked smile, still refusing to let go. "You can't take it back."

"Isn't this nice?" Mira said as she returned after the police had left.

"Taking in such a pretty girl is a great deal for you, Kazuma. You can even do some naughty things together every day, right?"

Kazuma rolled his eyes.

"Of course, if you really don't have a place to stay, I can provide one," Mira added casually, twirling a strand of her hair.

"Luxury apartments, private villas—even ordinary detached houses. I have them all."

"No need. I have somewhere to stay now," Kazuma replied, shaking his head as he glanced at the beautiful woman, who looked faintly disappointed.

"But thank you for today, Miss Mira—especially that slap earlier. That was incredibly satisfying."

He raised his thumb in sincere praise.

Hearing Kazuma's gratitude and seeing his genuine smile, Mira froze for a moment. All her resentment instantly melted away, and she let out a soft sigh.

"Honestly… all he knows how to do is sweet-talk me."

Then, without warning, she opened her arms and pulled Kazuma into a tight embrace, completely ignoring Saki Yoshida, who was caught between them.

"Is that all you're going to do to thank me? At least give me something more substantial."

Saki Yoshida leaned against Kazuma's shoulder, staring in shock as the beautiful woman suddenly pulled him into a forceful kiss at close range. Their lips locked together, leaving Saki completely stunned. She instinctively swallowed.

When the lingering French kiss finally ended, Saki immediately took Mira's place and kissed Kazuma herself, not giving him any time to catch his breath.

After being forcibly kissed twice in a row, Kazuma felt like he was about to black out.

Mira licked her lips, as if savoring the aftertaste. "Little one, please understand me. Seeing you being intimate with girls twice made me jealous. But there was nothing I could do, so all I could ask for was a kiss. That's not too much, is it?"

"Waaaaah!"

Mira stared wide-eyed as Saki Yoshida made soft, suggestive sounds, her tongue eagerly entwining as if trying to steal the lingering scent. She smiled faintly. "Even gentle little Saki is jealous now. Sigh… the flavor I worked so hard to keep is about to be overwhelmed again."

After finishing the kiss, Saki finally released his lips. Her face flushed as she gently wiped his mouth. "No, no, I'm not jealous. I'm just really grateful for your help, big sister."

She wasn't lying. She truly wasn't the jealous type—especially after everything she had been through. She simply enjoyed the feeling of a light kiss.

"You actually called me 'big sister'? How sweet. I can't handle that," Mira said with a smile as she held her hand. As a mother of two daughters, she really couldn't understand what that woman had been thinking.

"Come on, Kazuma. Get in the car."

Mira opened the door.

"To where?"

"Of course I'm taking you back," Mira Tsubakihara said helplessly. "You don't think I'm kidnapping you, do you? Relax—I wouldn't do something like that. There are people waiting for you, aren't there?"

Kazuma suddenly remembered Hiiragi and the others. He had been eating with them when he noticed activity on the wish list and rushed over. They were probably still standing at the shop entrance, confused and waiting for him.

"I can go back anytime with my magic door," he thought. But seeing Mira's firm expression, he shrugged and decided to accept the ride.
