Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 — Straw Hats vs Gravity (Gravity Loses)

The aftermath of Luffy's first Gear 5 punch still resonated across Marineford. Buildings swayed like jelly, cannon crews were tangled in impossible angles, and Marines scrambled over frozen cannonballs with the kind of panic usually reserved for ghosts. Gravity, for one, seemed to have forgotten its purpose entirely. Even the ocean nearby reflected the chaos as if reality had become a child's warped funhouse mirror.

The Straw Hats stumbled to their feet, each one reacting differently to the sudden plunge from Wano's party to Marineford's battlefield. Luffy bounced across the deck with manic energy, yelling, "We're finally here! And now it gets fun!" The sheer volume of his laughter made the air vibrate, a hum that made birds freeze mid-flight, their wings stretched stiff as steel beams.

Zoro groaned, rubbing his forehead. "I don't know if this is a war… or a nightmare," he muttered, surveying the Marines who were either tripping over themselves or fainting outright. His swords felt unusually heavy, though not due to their weight—gravity itself seemed to have taken a vacation. He drew one blade instinctively, slicing a cannonball that was midair for an eternity. Sparks flew harmlessly, bouncing off the rubberized air like fireworks.

Sanji, midair from bouncing off a warped section of deck, flicked his legs and sent a group of Marines sliding into one another. "Excuse me! Coming through!" He floated on the rubbery air, apologizing as if politeness could explain the destruction. "I didn't even touch the floor!" He twirled, delivering a kick that sent a marine spinning like a top before landing neatly atop a cannon, cigarette trailing smoke.

Usopp, perched on Franky's shoulder, shrieked, "Why… why does everything defy logic?!" He fired a random assortment of projectiles—fireworks, peas, half-eaten pastries, and a few cannonballs Franky handed him for "maximum chaos effect." Each hit made Marines panic further, unsure whether they were under attack or hallucinating. "I am not lying! The scary monster is real! And it's bouncing!" Usopp shouted, pointing at Luffy who had stretched himself around a tower like elastic spaghetti.

Nami, eyes glinting with her usual strategic cunning, stood atop a floating section of ship deck that had detached during the ripple. She surveyed the chaos and smirked. "Well… if I'm going to be stuck here, I might as well make this profitable." She grabbed treasure crates from wrecked ships midair, hoisting them with ease thanks to the defiance of gravity. Her laughter was calm, almost regal, as she noted which Marines were most distracted and ripe for plundering.

Franky, meanwhile, had gone full inventor mode. He turned the warped walls of Marineford into mobile weapons. One tower became a massive hammer, then a cannon, then a motorbike, each transformation more absurd than the last. "SUPER FUTURE FRANKY—SUPER SUPER—SUPER!!!" he yelled, zooming across the battlefield, crashing into Marines who were already sliding helplessly across warped decks and frozen cannonballs.

Robin, as serene as ever, extended her arms to grow hands out of buildings, ceilings, and even cannon muzzles. Entire squads were immobilized politely, their cries muffled as her hands held them in place. "It is… for their safety," she said quietly, as if the war itself were a minor inconvenience to her.

Jinbe, calm amidst the storm, weaponized the ocean. He summoned waves that flowed in unnatural arcs across the battlefield, turning decks into massive slip-slides. Marines slid helplessly into one another, crashing into walls and cannonballs, their shouts drowned by Luffy's booming laughter.

Amid the chaos, Luffy bounced higher, stretching his body in impossible ways. "I have a crew! A crew I'll protect no matter what!" he shouted, stretching over several cannons at once and flicking Marines like pins in a giant game of bowling. The sheer absurdity of his Gear 5 power made even hardened warriors freeze.

Sengoku gritted his teeth, watching helplessly from his tower. "This… this is impossible. They—He… cannot exist in this world like this!" His hands clenched so tightly the wood beneath him splintered. "I am the Fleet Admiral! Justice cannot fail—yet… I can do nothing!" His voice trembled. "It is… if this is… the future… then…" He could not finish, a combination of fear and awe leaving him speechless.

Garp, leaning lazily against another tower, laughed despite himself. "I've seen crazy stuff in my life… but this… this is insanity. Pretend this never happened. And if the world explodes… I didn't see any of it." He cracked a grin and took a swig from his bottle, his eyes twinkling with a mixture of worry and amusement.

Kizaru, attempting to move at light speed to engage Luffy, stumbled over nothing repeatedly. "Time… elasticity… gravity… I… cannot…" His voice trailed into gibberish, as beams of light bent unnaturally around Luffy's bouncing body. He tried to fire his light beams, only for them to ricochet off warped air, striking random Marines and creating more panic.

Whitebeard, pausing mid-fight, scratched his chin and laughed—a deep, resonant laugh that echoed through the battlefield. "Heh… why… is the island… giggling?" Even the Yonko was taken aback by the absurdity, the battlefield warping beneath Luffy's joyous bounce.

The Marines themselves were in full-blown chaos. Commanders shouted orders, but their troops either tripped over floating cannonballs or slid helplessly across rubberized decks. One young recruit, holding his musket upside down, stared in horror. "Did… gravity… just… leave us?" Another yelled, "Everyone! Fall back! Fall back! But… wait… the ground is moving!"

As if to amplify the chaos, Luffy grabbed a cannonball with his forehead and bounced it back and forth in a chaotic ping-pong pattern. Each ricochet sent Marines screaming and sliding into each other. "THIS… IS FUN!" Luffy shouted, stretching and bouncing as he played with reality like a toy.

Zoro, barely keeping his balance, muttered, "Cooking's irrelevant. Survival… maybe not." He sliced another cannonball midair and accidentally cut through a portion of a tower, which flopped harmlessly to the side, sending Marines scattering in panic.

Sanji, midair again, kicked a Marine into a pile of crates. "Sorry… did I hit anyone important?" he called cheerfully, the air itself acting as his trampoline.

Usopp, panicked but excited, fired random ammo, shouting, "I AM A HERO! I WARNED YOU!" Each lie somehow manifested in reality, confusing the Marines further.

Nami, atop a floating treasure-laden deck, declared, "Marineford is officially a bank!" She grabbed gold coins, jewels, and even some treasure chests floating by, stacking them neatly while Marines slid helplessly beneath her.

Franky, piloting a mobile cannon tower, shouted, "SUPER FUTURE FRANKY RULES THE BATTLEFIELD!" as he zoomed past a confused Akainu, who was mid-magma attack. The Admiral's magma hit nothing but thin air, stretching and flattening in ways that made no sense.

Robin extended a hand to gently hold a group of Vice Admirals in place. "It is… for their safety," she said, voice calm as the Marines struggled futilely.

Jinbe, flowing with the ocean currents, sent another wave crashing across a deck. Marines slipped, collided, and rolled helplessly toward the horizon. One yelled, "RETREAT! RETREAT!" only to slide into another Marine who was already fainting.

Luffy, bouncing higher and higher, called out, "I'M GONNA BE KING OF THE PIRATES!" His voice carried across Marineford, vibrating through walls, cannons, and even the hearts of the Marines themselves.

The island groaned. The air shimmered. Gravity, structure, and common sense had abandoned the battlefield entirely. Marines fell into each other, cannonballs ricocheted endlessly, and even Whitebeard shook his head in disbelief.

Sengoku, clutching his tower, muttered, "This… this cannot be stopped…"

Garp chuckled again, shaking his head. "Pretend this never happened… and live."

The chaos continued for hours—or maybe minutes. Time itself seemed to stretch as Gear 5 Luffy bounced across Marineford, playing, laughing, and warping reality. Every punch, kick, and bounce sent shockwaves, sending Marines sliding, flying, or fainting in terror.

By the end of the "Straw Hats vs Gravity" spectacle, Marineford was unrecognizable. Towers leaned impossibly, decks floated midair, and cannon crews were tangled in a nightmare of elastic physics. The Straw Hats had survived their plunge from Wano's celebrations, adapting instantly to this new chaotic playground.

And through it all, Luffy's laughter rang out, pure, uncontainable, and absolutely absurd: "HEHEHEHEHEHE… THIS IS FUN!"

Gravity had officially lost. Reality had surrendered. And Marineford would never, ever be the same again.
