Chapter 78 - Chapter 78 Qiqi is missing

The hot blood of a Pure-Yang Body, filled with Yang energy, was thus successfully obtained.

Although the bloodletting therapy was a bit radical, it did stop Chongyun's Pure-Yang Body from acting up, allowing him to calm down.

"Alright, let's go down the mountain."

Ryan said to the now calm Chongyun, satisfied, as he put away the bottle of hot blood Chongyun had released.

"Okay."

The amount of blood let was within an acceptable range, and Chongyun was fine, apart from being a bit listless after recovering from his Pure-Yang Body's flare-up.

"Speaking of which, I still don't know what to call you, sir?"

On the way, Chongyun couldn't help but ask.

"Oh, my name is Ryan. You can just call me Ryan."

..."By the way, little nephew, why did you come to Jueyun Karst?"

After leaving Jueyun Karst, on the way back to Liyue Harbor, Ryan curiously asked the young man traveling with him.

"I heard that several incidents of evil spirits causing trouble have occurred in Jueyun Karst recently, so I came to investigate."

Chongyun explained truthfully, licking the freshly made popsicle in his hand.

Although ice made directly with a Vision couldn't be eaten casually, as long as he had a clean water source nearby, he, with his Cryo Vision, could easily freeze water into popsicles.

So, after leaving Jueyun Karst, he found a clean water source, broke off a wooden stick, and made a few popsicles.

Such popsicles didn't have much elemental power, so even ordinary people could eat them without harm.

"Oh? Is that so? What kind of evil spirit is so bold as to trespass into my Jueyun Karst?"

Chongyun's explanation piqued Ryan's strong interest.

He wasn't concerned about Jueyun Karst being trespassed upon, but rather wanted to know if the evil spirit could be used for alchemy.

"According to eyewitnesses, the evil spirit resembled a human but had a distorted physique, with several more arms and heads than a person, making it particularly unsettling."

Chongyun continued to explain.

These were all things his friends had found out and told him.

..."Ha, haha, indeed, just thinking about it is scary!"

Hearing Chongyun's description, Ryan laughed awkwardly, understanding where the rumor of evil spirits in Jueyun Karst came from.

Afterward, Ryan didn't ask any more questions and escorted Chongyun all the way back to Liyue Harbor.

After bidding farewell to Chongyun, Ryan decided to find another place to continue his alchemy.

He estimated that the remaining materials in his hand could be used to refine two more pills.

However, just as Ryan was about to find a quiet place to go back and refine pills, someone suddenly found him.

"Ryan, my dear Ryan! I finally found you, This Master has an urgent matter to discuss with you!"

Hu Tao suddenly appeared from behind, patting Ryan's shoulder.

"W-what is it again, Director Hu?"

"Let's be clear first... no taste tests!"

Startled by the elusive Hu Tao, Ryan asked a question, then quickly crossed his arms in an X shape in front of his body.

"It's not a taste test, it's Qiqi. Qiqi has suddenly gone missing, and I suspect she's been taken by bad people."

..."Hmm? What do you mean by looking at This Master like that? Qiqi is This Master's closest friend, like a sister."

Hu Tao didn't bother to mind Ryan's suspicious behavior regarding her cooking and quickly explained to him. However, upon seeing Ryan's suspicious gaze, Hu Tao immediately put her hands on her hips and said discontentedly.

Seeing this, Ryan had no choice but to temporarily believe Hu Tao's words.

"Baizhu went to Yilong Wharf for a house call these past few days. This Master was worried Qiqi would be bored alone at Bubu Pharmacy and wanted to take her out to play. But the Bubu Pharmacy pharmacist told me Qiqi had gone out to gather herbs."

"This Master waited for several days, but Qiqi never returned. Normally, she wouldn't take this long to gather herbs, so I suspect Qiqi is missing."

Hu Tao explained the whole story to Ryan.

Although Hu Tao no longer intended to bury Qiqi, it wasn't convenient for her to take Qiqi out when Baizhu was around, so she usually chose times when Baizhu was out on house calls to find Qiqi.

"Gathering herbs, huh..."

Ryan mumbled.

When he first came down the mountain to Liyue Harbor, he recognized Qiqi at Bubu Pharmacy. This little zombie had been frequently gathering herbs in Jueyun Karst recently.

Ryan also occasionally went out to gather herbs, so he had seen her several times, but they never really interacted, and he hadn't even noticed she was a zombie.

The reason he remembered her was that while many people could climb the cliffs of Jueyun Karst to gather herbs, it was the first time he had seen someone as young as Qiqi doing so.

"I understand. Let's go to Jueyun Karst and take a look."

Although he had just returned from Jueyun Karst, upon learning of Qiqi's disappearance, Ryan nodded and agreed.

"Hehe, This Master knew Ryan was kind-hearted. As a disciple of an adeptus, you must be very familiar with Jueyun Karst, so I'll leave it to you!"

Hu Tao said, giving Ryan a thumbs-up.

And so, Ryan, who had just returned to Liyue Harbor and hadn't had a chance to rest, set off with her to return to Jueyun Karst.

On the way, Ryan felt awkward asking to stop for a meal, so he bought some food by the roadside to eat as they walked, and also bought some coconut milk.

If Qiqi was really kidnapped, he would need coconut milk to comfort her.

And so, the two of them returned to Jueyun Karst together.

"Oh~ The scenery of Jueyun Karst is truly something else!"

Hu Tao must have been visiting Jueyun Karst for the first time, as she curiously gazed at the ethereal peaks like an ordinary girl.

"Let's go to Huaguang Stone Forest. If Qiqi was gathering herbs, she would likely go there."

Ryan, however, was already accustomed to the scenery of Jueyun Karst. After Hu Tao had gazed for a while, he reminded her.

Hu Tao nodded, then went with Ryan to Huaguang Stone Forest.

Meanwhile, on Aozang Mountain.

"Master, I wish to descend the mountain."

After showing Cloud Retainer the results of his cultivation in the mountains, Shenhe then brought up his desire to descend the mountain.

"Descend the mountain?"

Hearing Shenhe's words, Cloud Retainer subconsciously raised her wing and touched her head.

Although she had considered letting Shenhe descend the mountain, this came too suddenly.

Ryan had just descended, and now another one suddenly wanted to descend...

"Senior Brother wants me to descend the mountain."

Shenhe explained.

As for the familial ties he encountered, they were not enough to be his reason for wanting to descend the mountain.

In fact, one night some time ago, on a whim, he had secretly descended the mountain and returned to his former hometown.

He no longer held any lingering affection for home or family, merely following a vague sentiment, wanting to visit the house he once lived in and see what kind of life his deluded father was now leading.

However, when he returned to his old home, he learned from the neighbors that his father had passed away years ago, and the old house where he lived as a child had long been demolished. All traces of his memories had vanished in the shifting winds and rains.

"Shenhe, let's go home."

The white fox that had followed him all the way emerged from the nearby grass and called out to Shenhe.

"Mm."

Shenhe responded, bent down to pick up the white fox from the ground, and, bathed in moonlight, set off on the path back to Jueyun Karst.
