Chapter 11 - Intelligence Exchange

Lord Adam looked at Inquisitor Sibylla, who was extremely respectful, and his mind went blank, lost in thought.

No, in his impression, weren't Inquisitors all a bunch of madmen?

How did her attitude change so quickly?

No more suspicion?

He had thought that as an Inquisitor, Sibylla, after waking up and seeing the scene before her and all the previous anomalies, would likely view Adam, whose origins were unknown, as a potential heretic. A traditional Imperial art form—internal conflict—would surely follow.

Don't think Inquisitors wouldn't do such things; the famous Living Saint Celestine has experienced the ruthlessness of these madmen more than once.

For this, Adam had even prepared a fallback plan.

The Reality Warper's transformation ability creates an extremely strong and distinct hierarchical relationship between the transformer and the transformed.

After all, the Reality Intensity of the transformed is only a part of the Reality Warper's, completely an extension of their ability.

Just now, the cultists and heretics killed by Living Saint Lucia were directly attributed to Adam by the anomaly on him, and their souls still couldn't escape Adam's devouring.

If a Reality Warper wants to act against a transformed Reality Warper, the warping ability can ignore spatial barriers and act upon the target with extreme efficiency.

This was also Adam's confidence in transforming the Inquisitor without hesitation.

But now... why did you just give in before I even made a move?

This isn't how it works.jpg

At the same time, Leonardo, who realized the contrast between Sibylla's actions and her identity, and whose attitude towards Adam had completely changed since he personally witnessed the Emperor's manifestation, spoke up:

"Explain, Inquisitor. Why do you call Lord Adam 'the hope of humanity and the Imperium'? And where did you learn this?"

"I have already said, before coming to this cruiser, I had received a premonition from the Emperor."

Sibylla immediately explained, "He told me that new hope would appear on this ship, which could change all this corruption. And after I saw you and your actions, I completely understood."

"Because your appearance is an unrepeatable miracle."

"An unrepeatable miracle?"

Hearing this, Adam was somewhat puzzled.

He, of course, knew he was unique, a visitor from another universe, but how did Sibylla see that?

"Because you have no Warp projection."

Sibylla patiently explained, "I can sense the presence of your soul, but it has no connection to the Warp. If one were to use Warp perception, they wouldn't even detect it."

Hearing these words from a Psyker Master certified by the Inquisition, even Custodian Leonardo and Living Saint Lucia beside them showed puzzled expressions, looking at Adam simultaneously, clearly not expecting such a person to exist in this universe.

The Warp and the real universe are completely inseparable, tightly linked. Even blanks, who can suppress psychic powers, still have Warp projections like black holes. If a person loses their Warp projection, wouldn't they be no different from a walking corpse?

How could they still function normally?

Adam himself, however, was not surprised by this.

In this universe, all souls are directly connected to the Warp and form projections within it.

But this rule simply didn't apply to Adam, who wasn't born in this universe at all.

This had both advantages and disadvantages.

The disadvantage was that Adam couldn't directly feel the tides of the Warp like Psykers, nor could he harness its power to transform into infinite might;

As for the advantage... Adam estimated that his resistance to Chaos corruption would likely be incredibly strong.

"Just now, when I fell into a psychic frenzy, I vaguely saw the Emperor's premonition again."

Sibylla continued, "I believe you are the one I have been searching for, the one who can bring revival to this decaying Imperium."

Hearing this, Adam paused slightly, feeling something was off: "Are you a 'Horusian' Inquisitor?"

The Horusian Faction was a branch within the Inquisition. They believed that the power of Chaos displayed by the traitor Warmaster, the Great Traitor Horus, could be used to create a divine avatar of the Emperor, leading humanity to greatness once more.

One listen and you know, this was clearly a purely madman organization.

"No, you cannot insult my honor like that!"

Sibylla frowned deeply, immediately displaying an ugly expression as if she had eaten a fly, "I am a Puritan Inquisitor; don't compare me with those heretics."

"If I had to name a faction... I personally think the Anomolian Observers have some merit, but only some merit."

She emphasized.

Alright then... Adam looked around.

He had realized that this must be the arrangement and protection the Emperor had prepared for him, a Reality Warper whose physical body was as fragile as a mortal's.

A Living Saint, a Custodian who was also a former Blade Champion, plus an Alpha-grade Psyker... this small team was undeniably strong in the current galaxy, more than enough to protect Adam's safety.

After all, this wasn't yet the era after the Great Rift opened, when, with Anti-Guilliman's declaration of "The age of the Primarchs is over!", all races simultaneously brought out their own Primarch-level combat power, plus armies so vast they were previously unimaginable, clashing and fighting each other.

A certain Emperor's profound anticipation and eagerness to get off work were practically overflowing.

Adam took a deep breath.

The intense gazes of the three around him made him feel a little pressured.

They were all waiting for Adam's declaration, holding extreme trust and hope for him, even though the Adam before them, apart from a few abnormalities, looked no different from a mortal.

Ten thousand years of faith and blind obedience to the Emperor were enough for them to completely trust the Emperor's instructions, though, of course, a hint of doubt inevitably remained.

Even if this person was indeed unusual, compared to the Imperium of Man, whose territory spanned almost the entire galaxy and whose sheer size was enough to make both those who wished to save it and those who wished to destroy it despair, he still seemed too insignificant.

"My name is Adam, I am a Reality Warper, and also the Emperor's contractor; it was He who brought me here. Next, we shall act together according to the Emperor's will, embarking on a glorious journey."

Adam spoke solemnly to the three people before him, "If you have any questions about the current situation or myself, I am happy to answer them. Appropriate communication will also benefit our upcoming actions."

"What exactly is your origin?"

The three looked at each other, and finally, the Custodian Leonardo was the first to speak.

Adam pondered for a moment, recalling his own origins, and decided to find an explanation that would be easily accepted by the people of this universe.

"Before I answer that question, do you know how the Emperor created the twenty-one Primarchs?"

...Weren't there only nine Primarchs? How could there be twenty-one?

The Living Saint Lucia looked puzzled.

"What... wasn't it a total of eighteen Primarchs?"

Inquisitor Sibylla fell into deep thought, her eyes gradually showing excitement.

As an Inquisitor of the Order of the Sacred Hammer, she vaguely felt that a huge secret was hidden within this.

"Weren't there twenty Primarchs? Who was the other one?"

Custodian Leonardo gave his answer.

Well, this is the Imperium, full of little secrets everywhere.

Secrets, big and small, are hidden in every corner, everyone harbors their own little schemes, each with their own calculations.

The ultimate result is that everyone guards a pile of secrets, and no one can explain the whole picture clearly.

Adam was slightly helpless.

He first looked at Lucia, explaining concisely: "The Emperor did not create only the nine Primarchs propagated by the Ecclesiarchy. The other nine traitor Astartes Legions also had their own Primarchs, but they were erased from history by the Imperial high command because of their betrayal of humanity."

Lucia: "Huh?"

The next moment, Adam turned to Inquisitor Sibylla:

"Initially, there were actually 20 Legions in total. But two other Primarchs, along with their Legions, were expunged by the Emperor during the Great Crusade for unknown reasons."

Sibylla: "Huh?"

Then, he looked at Leonardo, speaking even more concisely: "The Twentieth Legion, the Alpha Legion, had two Primarchs: Alpharius and Omegon."

Leonardo's pupils constricted slightly.

After hearing these secrets, the three looked at each other, their minds reeling from the thunderous news.

Finally, they cast their questioning gazes back at Adam, and though they didn't speak, the meaning in their eyes was very clear:

How do you know?

Adam shrugged and continued:

"Let's return to the initial question. Regarding the Emperor's process of creating the Primarchs—at some unknown point in time, He entered the depths of the Warp, a place even the Chaos Gods were unwilling to tread, and from there, using unknown means, extracted twenty Warp essences. He then used His superb genetic technology to fashion them into individual Primarchs."

"This... is this really something we should be hearing?"

After a moment of silence, Lucia couldn't help but speak, "Honestly, if someone had told me this before, I would very likely... no, definitely have sent him to the stake."

"And with a slow fire," Sibylla interjected, complaining.

"...

"After these Ten Thousand years, the Emperor once again decided to conduct a dangerous experiment. Although this time, I don't know how He did it, He indeed succeeded.

This time, He changed locations, no longer going through the Warp... In short, the result of the experiment was that He successfully brought me to this universe."

Adam reached out and pointed to himself.

"You are a Primarch?"

Custodian Leonardo was the first to question. Such a claim, "I am the Son of God," carried too much weight in the religious atmosphere of the Imperium.

"However, historical records state that Primarchs possess astonishing strength, but I don't sense any great threat from you."

"Don't confuse me with a Primarch; they are two completely different things..."

Adam smiled, "Never mind, I'll just show you what a Reality Warper is; it might be more intuitive."

He thought for a moment, then nodded to the Custodian: "Excuse me, I apologize for the offense."

Leonardo grunted, feeling as if a gap had opened in his mind, and a gaze slowly swept through his memories and consciousness through that gap.

Desperately suppressing the urge to draw his sword, the Custodian stood still, even completely giving up resistance.

Fortunately, this gaze merely swept past quickly and did not delve deep into his consciousness.

"Sorry, I just wanted to retrieve a [memory] from your mind; I'm not interested in your other secrets."

Adam said, extending his hand.

Before everyone's eyes, the extremely hard Ceramite-alloy floor of the ship now transformed from a solid into a malleable liquid, surging upwards according to Adam's will, finally forming a tall cylinder, like a cocoon, slowly expanding and contracting.

Adam forcefully plunged his palm into this cocoon-like object, constantly recalling the information he had just obtained from Leonardo in his mind, and activated his Reality Warping Ability.

Clarifying Structure, Material Transformation, and Reconstruction.

After a while, Adam took a deep breath, withdrew his palm, and eased his tense mind.

At this moment, activating this level of Reality Warping as a Tier 2 Reality Warper, he clearly felt a certain amount of consumption.

The liquid-like Ceramite receded downwards, re-merging with the floor.

What appeared before everyone's eyes was an extremely tall, heavy power armor shimmering with a brilliant golden luster. Its armor was covered with various glorious patterns crafted by a master, and a tall red plume stood upright on its helmet.

"What is this?"

Lucia frowned slightly, turning to look at the other two, and found that the Inquisitor and the Custodian's faces were filled with astonishment.

Especially Leonardo, whose ordinarily handsome face was even distorted by extreme shock, his eyes seemingly about to pop out.

"Alarius terminator?!"

Finally, Leonardo could no longer contain himself and cried out in surprise.

"You can try it; this is not a model."

Adam made a 'please' gesture with his hand.

As he spoke, the power armor automatically disassembled into individual components, floating in the air and surging towards Leonardo.

The Custodian began to put on the armor with a mixture of doubt and belief. The moment the mechanical joints closed, the machine spirit suddenly pulsed, and the terminator armor fit tightly to his body. A torrent of power surged through him, confirming the reality of it all.

It was a completely real alarius terminator armor!

"Are you kidding me?!"

Sibylla could no longer maintain her composure: "This is terminator armor specially supplied to the Custodian Guard's Ten Thousand. It's made entirely of extremely rare Auramite, said to be worth a planet, and tough enough to withstand the aftershocks of orbital bombardment! You just..."

She shifted her gaze downwards, looked at the floor beneath her feet, and then stomped hard, "...made it from Ceramite with your bare hands? How did you do that?"

"This is the ability of a Reality Warper."

Adam spread his hands, "To me, all so-called matter is essentially part of objective reality. As long as its Reality Intensity, or Hume Level, allows for my modification... then in my eyes, there is no real difference between any substances."
