Chapter 41 - Kommando

"This is because the entities I am about to hunt down possess power that I likely cannot match with my current strength alone. To successfully achieve my goal, I must unite all available forces to ensure absolute success."

Adam explained.

The star god shard he is about to hunt is not some soft persimmon easily crushed.

No, that might not be entirely accurate... I should say that among the star god shards, Adam must specifically seek out the powerful ones to satisfy his requirements.

For instance, the Burning One star god shard on Fenris is the kind of target that the Necrons, The Infinite Trazyn, could easily destroy.

This clearly does not meet Adam's requirements.

As for the remaining unowned shards, whether it's the Void Dragon beneath the surface of Mars, which can contend with a great god of the Warp domain, or the Eight-in-One Supreme Star God within the Pharos Lighthouse core, none of them are easy targets.

In any case, Adam cannot defeat them.

Comparatively, the World Shaper star god shard inside the World Engine is the most suitable target.

But even so, to successfully take down the World Engine and completely defeat and kill the World Shaper, he needs substantial military support from the Imperium, especially from the 'Oil Guys' (Tech-Priests) who possess a large amount of forbidden technology.

His current strength alone is clearly far from sufficient.

Of course, this is only a preliminary attempt. Next, Adam will need to make contact with other Adeptus Mechanicus Magi.

"Right, speaking of Magi..."

Inquisitor Sibylla seemed to suddenly remember something. "I recall the Imperial Guard Elite mentioning that intelligence suggests an Archmagos from Mars should be on this planet."

"Huh?"

Adam was slightly stunned.

Why didn't you mention this before?

After obtaining the Inquisitor's consent, he immediately used his Reality Warping Ability to quickly search Sibylla's memory, seeing the details of her prior conversation with the Imperial Guard Elite on the Bridge.

"Alright."

Adam was speechless, realizing he had made such a blunder, but fortunately, nothing was genuinely delayed.

"Once we kill that Ork Warboss, we'll try to find that Adeptus Mechanicus Magos from Mars."

As he spoke, something suddenly occurred to him, and Adam murmured in surprise, "It couldn't really be Archmagos Cawl, could it?"

At this moment, inside that camp,

The body of Belisarius Cawl emitted another mechanical whirring sound.

What's going on?

Again?

Confusion and bewilderment filled his brain, as well as every personality shard within it... Armageddon Steel Legion Command Post.

"Mortal, this is the fourth time you've secretly observed me with your eyes. If you have a question, just ask."

Leonardo, standing quietly to the side, clad in luxurious terminator armor and holding a sword and shield, spoke in a calm voice.

Since receiving Adam's instructions, he had followed Yarrick to the Command Post and watched the latter organize all command affairs in perfect order.

As an all-rounder among the Imperial Guard Elite, Leonardo had to admit that this mortal was truly exceptional in terms of command ability.

"...My apologies, sir. It's nothing."

Yarrick sighed.

Damn it, he couldn't control his curiosity.

The knowledge he gained at the Schola Progenium meant he wasn't like those ignorant Imperial citizens who knew nothing about the various departments of the Imperium; as an Astra Militarum Political Commissar, he had a general understanding.

But precisely because he understood, he found it even more incredible.

The Imperial Guard Elite hold a transcendent status throughout the Imperium. They are the guardians of the Imperial Palace and the Golden Throne, and their political independence is second to none across the entire Imperium; they answer to no one except the Emperor.

Theoretically, if they wished, they could even dismiss the High Lords of Terra.

Yet, such a figure was actually taking orders from an ordinary mortal?

When Yarrick actually heard the Imperial Guard Elite naturally follow Adam's instructions, the storm raging in his heart was indescribable.

However, the will to survive ultimately overcame his thirst for knowledge.

Yarrick forced himself to stop focusing on the reasons behind this.

Looking on the bright side, the addition of these reinforcements had completely closed the gap in high-end combat power between the Imperium and the Orks, perhaps even surpassing them.

Suddenly, a feeling of strangeness flashed through his heart.

Yarrick slightly narrowed his eyes and subtly reached for the bolter Pistol at his waist.

Almost simultaneously, the Imperial Guard Elite changed his stance, adopting a posture of readiness.

"Oh?"

He noticed it too?

This thought arose simultaneously in both their minds.

Yarrick was fine, but Leonardo was extremely surprised:

How did this mortal manage that? Even his own superhuman perception had only just caught that hint of abnormality.

Where exactly is the enemy?

The Imperial Guard Elite subtly turned his head, rapidly scanning the surroundings.

The environment was very quiet; everything seemed normal.

But the next moment, this dead silence was shattered by intense gunfire.

With almost no warning, Yarrick violently drew his bolter Pistol and pulled the trigger.

A barrage of bolter rounds, like a rainstorm, shot out, instantly covering a dark corner, and streaks of blood blossomed!

Inside his Tactical Helmet, Leonardo narrowed his eyes dangerously.

What appeared in his field of vision were six stealthy Orks.

They were all wearing crude combat uniforms, covered only by a seemingly ordinary piece of blue cloth.

Yet, this simple disguise somehow managed to fool everyone's eyes and the outer sentries, allowing them to sneak all the way here.

The purpose of these Orks was naturally self-evident.

"Waaaaagh!"

A roar sounded, and the remaining Kommandos who hadn't been killed by the bolter rounds suddenly lunged forward, the curved blades in their hands shining coldly in the air.

Yarrick was about to retaliate, but he heard a gust of wind flash past his side.

The massive golden armored body, over three meters tall, completely blocked him.

Swoosh—

A flash of sword light swept past, and almost all the Orks instantly became corpses.

The fight ended. Leonardo meticulously checked all the surrounding corners again before turning to Yarrick and saying, "Were those... Ork Kommandos? I've seen relevant records in the Imperial Guard Elite's inherited texts, but I didn't expect their stealth effect to be so good."

"No, normally, Kommandos' stealth capabilities shouldn't be this strong."

Yarrick shook his head. He squatted down and carefully examined the blue cloth draped over the Orks.

To an ordinary person, it was just a common, unremarkable piece of blue cloth.

But in Yarrick's eyes, he successfully captured crucial intelligence.

He said thoughtfully, "It seems we must move faster. Those Orks are clearly up to something very unpleasant."
