Chapter 60 - Heave

Adam looked Yarrick up and down carefully.

He had to admit that the awe-inspiring aura Yarrick exuded at this moment was close to—no, it should be said that it far surpassed the fully realized version in his memories.

However, Adam was still not quite clear about just how strong Yarrick was now.

When building the mechanical claw and bionic eye according to Yarrick's memories and instructions, Adam added a lot of mechanical transmission structures that seemed nonsensical to him; some even included designs that could be called graffiti, making him feel it was pure nonsense.

But there was no choice; Ork technology was just that ridiculous.

Thinking of this, Adam could only follow instructions one by one.

This also made Yarrick's current strength a complete mystery.

Even though Adam's knowledge was quite extensive, he couldn't predict it at all—Ork things were just that chaotic.

After thinking for a moment, Adam spoke first:

"How is it? Can you demonstrate your current combat power to us?"

"Fine."

Yarrick nodded. "It suits my wishes."

"Alright then."

Hearing him agree, Adam immediately gave a signaling look to Custodian Leonardo standing nearby.

"Ah? Me?"

Leonardo felt a bit taken aback when he saw that look.

As an Imperial Guard, and having successfully won the honor of Blade Champion in his career, Leonardo felt immense pride deep within.

He firmly believed he was the practitioner and defender of the Emperor's will, the crystallization of the Emperor's highest technology.

Let alone an ordinary mortal Political Commissar standing before him, even if it were an Astartes, Leonardo believed he could subdue them in a single move.

What could this match even measure?

But thinking of his Lord's guidance, he still silently accepted the request and stepped into the center of the field, his red cloak fluttering behind him.

After quickly clearing a space,

Adam immediately announced: "The match follows the first-blood principle; it's only to determine superiority, not life and death. The match begins!"

"Is this necessary?"

Leonardo felt somewhat speechless, but his combat instincts instantly put him into a state of readiness.

In an instant that an ordinary person couldn't see clearly, the Custodian had already stepped forward, his body lowered. After a preparation movement so short it was immeasurable, he used the sprint to cross the short dozen steps almost like teleporting, bringing Yarrick within his attack range.

However, at the very moment the Custodian thought the match was over, through the eyepiece of his terminator armor, he saw a crimson light flare up in the mortal's bionic eye.

"Wait, what?!"

With the nanosecond reaction speed of a Custodian, Leonardo instantly shifted his posture, and the Disintegration Field edge of his guardian spear precisely intercepted the beam's path, protecting his weak points with anticipation.

"Boom!"

A violent explosion erupted at the tip of the guardian spear, and massive shockwaves rippled layer by layer; the wild tremors even caused the distant Astra Militarum chasing Orks to look toward the source of the sound in shock.

Even wearing terminator Power Armor, the Custodian was staggered by the strike, his body retreating as he carved two deep furrows into the ground, the plastel flooring of the Hive City shattering and flipping, fragments flying everywhere.

"What is this thing?"

Feeling the impact that was so startling it was hard to imagine it came from a small bionic eye, Leonardo no longer had the slightest bit of contempt.

With the respect an Imperial citizen has for a Custodian, Yarrick solemnly explained.

"The technology for this bionic eye comes from the Orks' Zzap weapon. The power source for this weapon is the Waaagh Field; it's very unstable, but its power is extremely strong."

"Good!"

Leonardo replied while flicking his guardian spear.

A large number of bolts instantly formed a curtain of rain, pouring toward Yarrick, only to be blocked by the other party without a scratch.

Looking at the shield that was so heavy it completely exceeded expectations, Leonardo asked in confusion: "An Ork Waaagh Field shield?"

"Yes, exactly."

A hint of a smile appeared on Yarrick's stoic face as he opened his thick mechanical claw, a dark cannon muzzle between the blades pointing at the Custodian.

"What's this now?"

Leonardo really didn't understand why there would be a firing port in that mechanical claw. Having suffered once, he immediately began moving at high speed, trying to avoid any possible damage.

But he ultimately didn't anticipate what was hidden inside.

A pale blue magnetic beam 'whooshed' out of the muzzle, as if powered by some strange energy, and under Yarrick's control, it whipped around wildly like a long lash.

Such a ridiculous attack was difficult even for an Imperial Guard to fully dodge, and he was soon stuck by the magnetic beam, as if caught by an invisible hook.

Yarrick took a step, the blinding lights on his mechanical Power Klaw turned on, and a violent pulling force struck.

Leonardo stumbled, hurtling toward Yarrick.

"Ah?"

Adam and Lucia, who were watching, were also stunned.

Their surprise wasn't because they couldn't tell where the weapon came from, but because they had already recognized what it was.

"That looks like the Orks' Hand of Gork? Isn't that kind of Traktor Kannon mounted on Ork flakk truks and Ancient Gargants?"

"Even if the power is reduced, this is too ridiculous... how was it integrated into a small mechanical claw?"

But the fact was, Yarrick had done it!

And the excitement wasn't over yet.

Leonardo, who was being dragged over, did not panic.

After all, he was an Imperial Guard.

Even if he was pulled over, as a mortal Political Commissar, how much strength could you have in close combat?

However, he soon dismissed that thought.

On the mechanical claw swinging toward him and expanding in his field of vision, a brilliant blue light, different from a Disintegration Field, had begun to shine.

This light was extremely dazzling and violent, causing the Custodian's instincts to scream in warning!

But controlled by the magnetism, he had little room to dodge and could only swing his halberd to strike hard.

"Crack!"

A flash of blinding light passed, and the front end of the power halberd instantly disappeared. Leonardo took a step back, staring at the empty shaft of the halberd in a daze: "What is this?"

"An Ork teleport weapon."

Yarrick replied as usual, "Upon hitting, it instantly teleports the target away. Due to the instability of Ork teleport technology, the teleported object will be completely torn apart and randomly teleported to various places around, or even..."

He stomped his foot and added: "Even merge with some solid object nearby."

Alright, the match is over.

Adam clapped his hands, his expression a bit subtle.

He clearly hadn't expected that after accepting the Waaagh Field, Yarrick's 'I fink' ability in his mind would reach such an exaggerated level, almost like a real Ork.

But this was good; it would add another layer of protection to the team for the upcoming tomb exploration mission, and perhaps there would be many surprises.

He casually threw out another Warp beacon, which landed steadily on the ground.

A flash of Warp light passed, and Sibylla stepped out from it, the group gathering together.

"Now, let me talk about the next plan."

Adam said, "We are now going to look for a Mars Archmagos on this planet. I believe finding him might help us find more precise clues about the Necron tomb."
