Chapter 3 - New Life

A young man was sitting alone in a vast, luxurious room. The light originating from the lamp on the desk fell on his face, revealing his appearance.

He had short black hair and pitch-black eyes, and, despite his relatively young age, it could be seen that his facial features were fairly handsome.

A pen could be seen resting between his fingers as he scribbled down words on a small notepad.

Suddenly, his movements halted. A silver light flashed within his dark pupils.

Then, a burst of memories followed.

The hand holding the pen relaxed, causing it to drop on the desk.

But the young man didn't have the time to care about this.

He leaned back on his chair, and a wry smile appeared on his face.

"It's true! The Book of Samsara can indeed help me reincarnate!" he realized.

That's right. This young handsome man was Su Yang.

Or rather, he was the reincarnated Su Yang, who had just awakened the memories of his previous life.

Previously, he had certain doubts regarding the Book of Samsara's existence.

But now, possessing the memories of his two lives and feeling the world around him, he confirmed that everything was indeed true.

The Book of Samsara really existed!

"Does it mean that my talent has also improved?" Su Yang wondered.

Immediately, he chose to put that idea to the test.

He didn't get up from the chair.

Instead, he closed his eyes and began operating the cultivation technique he practiced in his previous life.

The world around him changed. Where there was originally nothing, Su Yang sensed the existence of an invisible yet real energy.

He was familiar with this energy. It was the Spiritual Energy of the cultivation world and the source of the cultivators' power.

Su Yang had sensed it countless times in his previous life. Yet, he couldn't help but feel excited when he saw the Spiritual Energy around him.

"My sensitivity to Spiritual Energy has more than doubled. My qualifications have indeed improved!"

Even though he had no direct way to test it, this was enough for him to believe that his Comprehension had also improved accordingly.

A burst of excitement arose within his heart.

His terrible talent was the one thing shackling him in his previous life.

Now that he discovered that it had improved dramatically, he found it difficult to remain composed.

"The Book of Samsara can allow me to reincarnate almost infinitely. As long as I take advantage of this function, I should be able to reach the rumored Saint Realm." Su Yang daydreamed.

But he soon recovered.

Mentally, he was no longer a young man.

He possessed decades of experience, having lived an entire life.

Thus, he knew that he could not be lost in happiness just yet.

"My main focus should be on improving my cultivation. Not only to better protect myself but also to increase the upper limit of my Soul Lifespan."

The first realm of cultivation was the Spirit Awakening Realm.

To reach it, one only had to sense the Spiritual Energy and guide it into their body.

Since Su Yang had just turned sixteen and had not begun cultivating, he had not reached this realm just yet.

But with the memories of his previous life, breaking through the Spirit Awakening Realm was not an issue for him.

Just when he was about to begin cultivating, though, a knock on the door interrupted him.

Hearing the gentle manner with which the person knocked on the door, Su Yang guessed their identity.

"Enter," he said calmly.

The door opened following his instructions, and a person walked in.

It was a beautiful woman in her early twenties, wearing a maid's outfit.

Seeing that Su Yang was sitting at the desk and was seemingly lost in thought, her eyes flashed with a hint of confusion.

"Young Master, have you forgotten? The Master said that you should get ready. Soon, the Awakening Ceremony will start."

Hearing her reminder, Su Yang couldn't help but pat his forehead.

If the woman had not mentioned it, he would have forgotten it completely.

But he couldn't be blamed.

He had just awakened the memories of his previous life and was growing familiar with his new, reincarnated body.

"Don't worry, Bai Yu. Go and tell my father that I am getting ready. I'll be there in a couple of minutes," he said as he looked at the woman.

The woman, Bai Yu, still had some doubts, but she didn't inquire any further.

As the maid assigned to Su Yang by his father, she knew better than to question her employers.

After he watched Bai Yu leave, Su Yang walked to the closet and picked out a neat set of clothes.

Looking at their soft texture and noticing the precious materials that had been used during their creation, he lightly clicked his tongue.

"As expected of the son of a Baron. Even as the Patriarch of the Su family, I wouldn't enjoy such luxury." Su Yang sighed.

The nobles in this world shared the same titles as the ones back on Earth, but they were completely different.

For one to become a noble in the world of cultivation, they had to possess certain strength.

The minimum strength required to obtain the lowest title, that of a Baron, was to break through the Spirit Totem Realm—a realm above the Spirit Gathering Realm that he had reached in his previous life.

Therefore, although Su Yang had yet to begin cultivating and was still a mortal, he enjoyed a very high status.

"Sure enough. The Samsara Points spent on my Background were worth it. My starting point in this world is way better than the previous one," he chuckled as he made his way out of the room.

The mansion of the Su family was not very big. With the death of Su Yang's mother, his father had fired most of the servants and maids, only keeping those who were required.

Hence, it didn't take long for Su Yang to reach the entrance and walk out of it.

The first thing he saw upon exiting the mansion was a large wooden carriage pulled by a pair of gorgeous white horses.

Then, he saw a middle-aged man standing beside it.

He was accompanied by an air of majesty and authority, while his face was handsome, closely resembling that of Su Yang. His identity was obvious.

He was Su Wei, a Baron of the Blazing Flames Empire and Su Yang's father in this life.
