An elite chunin was a chunin who had broken past the constraints of a specific field to a special jonin level.
The field that Gale had seemingly broken past was taijutsu which reduced Ken's odds of victory. A clear example was the former clash of ninjutsu.
Truthfully Ken's jutsu had beaten Gale's fire ball but with just a dodge Gale was able to evade the residual attack something that would have been impossible for a normal chunin.
'Luckily I had learned my clan's kenjutsu otherwise the former attack would have been my only trump card.'
"Gale I have a question."
"You may ask Lord Ken."
"Have you ever been struck by a swift blade."
"Wh…?"
Before Gale could even say what he wanted to say, his instincts cried out to him, prompting him to dodge.
The major problem was that he did not see what he was supposed to dodge since Ken was standing still, his hand gently placed at the beginning of his sheath.
There slowly but surely, Gale's eyes betrayed him. Many afterimages of Ken became visible and each afterimage was coming closer moment by moment.
From his first physical form, another showing him drawing his sword, the next showing a large leap which closed the gap between the two and finally one that showed a sword strike precisely aimed for Gale's throat.
Luckily he had felt something was off and made a large leap behind him not knowing that he had managed to save his own life.
Only then did a large air wave struck exactly where he was and shockingly Ken had arrived there gripping his sword tightly.
No one noticed this but the expression on Ken's face this time had turned solemn and serious as if prepared to take Gale out.
Breathing a sigh of relief Gale felt another pang of danger and this time he took ou his kunai and stood at a defensive stance.
Almost instantaneously Ken reappeared just in front of Gale and swung his sword at a very fast speed. From his mouth cold mist appeared just before he coldly said
"Kageno sword style. Tripple attack."
His sword this time changed form to create three phantoms of the same sword attack that had equal strength and potency as the original.
The three phantom slashes were quick and each aimed for Gale's vitals making escape a futile attempt. However despite being being flustered having his own life on the line, Gale move with super fast reflexes to intercept, parry and block the slashes.
The residual effect was immensely strong on Gale who despite not having suffered a single injury was both mentally and physically exhausted.
But offering no closure, his instincts screamed once more. This time all his defenses were all down and his body was incapable of acting.
Ken however wore a blank expression and finally had found the opening to stab at Gale's heart. In his current battle state his first instinct had always been to go for the kill.
His sword approached and a finger worth of distance he felt his sword become immovable. This time he felt powerless and looked like a baby trying to contend with an adult.
Pinching the blade of his sword was a tall blonde young man who had righteous smile plastered on his face. The man despite looking handsome and delicate still had an air that only the strong possessed.
It was non other than the Fourth Hokage - Minato Namikaze. "You almost won but unfortunately five moves have already passed." Realizing this, Ken exited his stupor and looked completely aggrieved.
Hiruzen however had black lines on his forehead and he had been lost in thought completely. He had recognized the trance that Ken had entered at a glance.
Although it still goes unnamed, this was a trance entered by the individuals of three specific clans when they had entered a state of true combat effectiveness where all methods can be used to kill an opponent.
"To think that a four year old has such power. Also that move he used first was a precise and effective kenjutsu often used by Torifu and during the 3rd Great Ninja War it was classified as an A grade danger move capable of beheading multiple jonin before they reached awareness."
Hiruzen said to himself but his words could be heard by all the anbu present. Minato still pinching the blade of Ken's sword then made everyone regain concentration by saying.
"Now Gale you are allowed to give little Ken one super strong attack. No holding back because if it happens to fail you will have to survive another five of his attacks."
Not waiting for Minato to finish Gale had already delivered a gruesome punch into Ken's stomach making him vomit blood and lose consciousness.
Watching this everyone understood how, Gale had felt since he had literally endured two death strikes and not given the chance to fight back.
"I guess no matter how much talent you have it doesn't mean you can immediately walk sideways in the world." Shikaku said to ease the tense atmosphere.
Some time later Ken woke up in the hokage infirmary and Shikaku, Minato, Kushina as well as Hiruzen stood in it.
"So I failed the test right?"
Ken said his expression showing childish hurt. "Yes, you indeed failed and because of that I cannot take you as my disciple."
Hearing the heartless words of Minato, Kushina who was beside him landed a solid punch on his head and yelled at him for breaking the words to a child so harshly.
After a time of getting a scolding, Minato then added some words to his previous words.
"As a ninja I will honor my words and not become your master but as the hokage in the face of such a talent as yourself I will guide your cultivation time to time."
Ken's face immediately lit up but this wasn't because of the words of reassurance that Minato had told him but finally all the genius points from the fight had arrived
