Chapter 2 - "Mommy"...

"You received something like a script from your manager last month and were told to memorise the character's behaviour and mannerisms.

She nodded.

"Have you fully done that ?".

"Yes, I have, my manager made sure I always practised before my other shots ", she muttered.

"Good, that character is the role you're going to play for the next six months ", he said.

"Huh?....six months, what sort of movie is it going to be for all I know is how to act and behave like her. No script "

"It's not a movie, the contract you signed just made you legally married to Mr Harie, and as we speak now, you're his wife starting today till the six months are up, he explained.

"What?!....married ? Me! To the richest and most powerful man in the country".

Trevor sighed as he nodded.

"I am not even competent enough to land a solid role, so why does such a person want me to act as his wife ?"

"I guess he didn't let you read the contract . Your main focus is going to be on his daughter, Myra".

"He had a child ...so his already married ?"

"Let's just say he was but she was killed. His daughter couldn't accept it and suffered a shock sending her into depression. He tried everything to help her but failed until he saw you "

"Me ...but what can I do ...I can't even help my own mother "Andria bit her lip in frustration.

Trevor passed her his phone that displayed a picture of a woman. Andria frowned, "Why does she look like me ...it's me but not me ", she stammered.

"That's because it's not you, that is the real wife of Mr Harie who passed away.

Andria leaned back realising what was going on.

"So you want me to replace his dead wife and act like her to their daughter ?"

Trevor nodded, "It's the only way to help her.

"But won't that do more damage than good? What if it hurts her even more when she finally finds out I'm not her mother ?"

"Don't worry about that, for now you need to act as you've practised and be there for that little girl ...can you do that ?"

She gulped as she glanced back at the photo still displayed on her phone.

.....

"The acting begins the moment you enter the house " Trevor let out.

Andria had changed and was now heading to the house of her new husband and child.

They had not even let her go back home to grab her stuff saying she would not need it.

The car stopped and she took a deep breath.

"Ready ?".

She nodded as the door opened.

Quietly walking towards the door, she marvelled at how big the home was. The huge doors jerked open, and there he was, standing in the doorway, carrying the little girl.

Andria could see the pale excited face of the little girl in his arms, patiently waiting for her mother to come back.

It reminded her of the times she always waited for her mother at the doorway when she was young, and it always brought a smile to her face.

"Myra ..my baby, she muttered, opening her arms.

The little girl burst into tears as she pushed away her father's arms trying to reach her mother.

Andria moved taking her into hers, her frail body shivering in her arms as she desperately held onto her.

"Mommy ...mommy where did you go for so long " her crying filled he room.

"I am sorry baby ....I am sorry, I'm late, " Andria mutters, holding her.

The little girl's sad feelings seeped into her, bringing tears to her eyes.

Everyone was silent watching the mother and daughter reunion.

.....

Andria was now lying down in bed next to the sleeping girl. She had cried so much without letting go of her that she had to stay beside her to keep her calm.

She sighed pushing the strands of hair from her pale face. Trevor had said that she had refused to eat since her mother disappeared and would often walk around the house at night calling out to her.

"Your must be in so much pain ,little one " she murmured.

After making sure she was sound asleep , Andria left the room.

Karlye was quietly standing outside his daughter's room.

Andria paused meeting his gaze.

"She is sleeping now " she let out.

"Let's talk " he said walking off.
