Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Herrscher of Knowledge Planted in the Vegetable Garden

Chen Luo wasn't sure if it was his imagination, but after completing the [Snatch the lolli's lolipop] mission, he felt a warm surge through his body—as if he'd grown slightly stronger.

Yet when he checked his status screen, nothing had changed, or it seems that his current talent has not yet developed a stat function?

Is my talent still growing?

Or is it just incapable of quantifying combat power?

"Am I stuck as a weakling?"

Regardless, he now ran with renewed vigor.

Thank you, little girl, for your charitable donation of candy.

And the 5 Primogems.

He made a mental note to buy her two extra lollipops later.

Then see if I can trigger another commission.

Chen Luo now seems to have discovered that his talent wasn't about him being a tool.

New Revelation: "Helping others" just requires achieving the goal—whether they're happy about it or not.

Could it be that the way I completed the commission before was wrong?

Chen Luo fell into deep contemplation—while simultaneously hurdling over the laughably low guardrail at the neighborhood entrance.

This railing only stops gentlemen but not villains.

Philosophizing aside, the Herrscher of Sentience still needed rescuing.

The name felt vaguely familiar, but he couldn't place it. Same with "Traveler" and "Primogems."

Chen Luo has also heard of it, but it seems to be something from a game.

As a high schooler—especially one who spent all his free time "helping"—Chen Luo doesn't have time to play games

"I might be more overworked than an office drone."

The difference? Salarymen slaved for money. He slaved for a progress bar.

While Chen Luo was thinking about it, Chen Luo finally passed through countless single-family villas and ran to his own door.

Arriving home, Chen Luo immediately opened the mission interface and hit [Track].

A blue beam of light (visible only to him) shot into the sky.

"This direction... seems to be the backyard." Chen Luo looked at the beam of light and immediately ran towards the backyard of his home.

"I hope the vegetables I planted are okay." Chen Luo muttered as he ran.

Although other residents in the villa area generally like to plant some flowers in the backyard to cultivate their sentiments, Chen Luo obviously does not follow thisl path.

His vegetable planting skills are really not good, and few of them can survive successfully.

When Chen Luo ran to the small backyard that was supposed to be used to plant flowers to cultivate his sentiments, a big hole had already appeared there.

A humanoid creature was lying face down in the big hole, and the vegetables next to the big hole, which had a low survival rate, were swept away.

"Okay, don't think about growing vegetables. No, I remember who commissioned this vegetable-growing project? Forget it, never mind. Since I've awakened my talent, I won't take jobs like growing vegetables anymore."

Chen Luo also forgot who said he wanted to eat the vegetables grown at home, but it was obvious that this commission had failed, because not a single vegetable was left, and they were all swept away.

"Hey, if you're still alive, say something." Chen Luo picked up a dead branch and poked the humanoid creature carefully.

When Chen Luo arrived at the vegetable garden, he found that he could accept the commission, so he immediately accepted it. And seeing that the commission did not show failure, it meant that she should not be dead yet. Although Chen Luo poked her, she did not respond.

Looking at the extremely low difficulty and high reward commission in the commission column, Chen Luo felt that this person should not be in any danger, so he slowly squatted down and gently touched her arm with his fingers. "Warm, it means she's not dead yet, at least not completely dead. But she looks so seriously injured, how can I treat her? Yunnan Baiyao[1]... probably not." Chen Luo suddenly had a headache.

But even if it's a headache, this person has to be saved. After all 600 Primogems were on the line.

Thinking of this, Chen Luo mustered up the courage to approach the figure, then stepped over the other person's body, crossed his feet on both sides of the other person's body, passed his hands under the other person's armpits, and then yanked her out like a stubborn radish.

"Unexpectedly light. Or is my strength getting stronger?" Chen Luo was a little confused, but it didn't affect Chen Luo's pulling the other person out of the hole.

After pulling her out, Chen Luo found that the other person seemed to be a girl. Although the face was dirty with mud, it was still clear whether it was a boy or a girl.

Although you can see from the back that the other person seems to be wearing a skirt, you can't deny the possibility that the other person may be a cross-dressing pervert.

"Should I carry her princess-style? But…"

She was filthy.

Between his own clothes and being gentle to girls, Chen Luo finally chose to be gentle to girls.

This is not to say that Chen Luo doesn't care about his clothes anymore. The main thing is that Chen Luo is afraid that if he drags the other person, it will cause some irreversible effects on the other person.

After looking around like a thief to see if anyone was coming, it took Chen Luo five minutes to move her to his home. The reason why it took so long was that when Chen Luo had just dragged her halfway, a person passed by his backyard.

"A'Luo, why's there a giant hole in your yard?" An elderly neighbor, Old Li, peered curiously.

"Old Li, you may not believe it when I tell you this, but I want to plant a tree. Don't I have to dig a big hole to plant a tree?" Chen Luo said seriously.

"Children are talking nonsense about planting trees. It's not about digging a big hole, but a deep hole. Your hole is big enough but not deep enough."

"You're so wise, Li Ye, but I'm tired. I'll… fix it tomorrow. Enjoy your walk!" Chen Luo waved at the other person, forcing them to "take care" against their will.

After saying this, Li ye had no choice but to let Chen Luo go.

Chen Luo now knew why this was a limited-time commission, because if Chen Luo didn't hurry up, the old man might have discovered this Herrscher of Sentience. As a law-abiding citizen, if you encounter such a situation, you will definitely call the police.

"My talent can predict the future? OP as hell!"

Once you call the police, the commission can basically be said to be a failure. "My talent can even predict the future? How amazing!" Chen Luo thought as he picked up the Herrscher of Sentience who had just been hastily placed in a blind spot.

The result of doing this was that she had a few more vegetable leaves on his head, but it was not a big problem, as it was already very dirty anyway.
