Chapter 4 - New Skill

[Main Story Quest completed. Reward obtained: Lösen unlocked]

[Lösen: A skill that materializes a weapon or duplicates one]

[Tip: It's not that I can't afford to make a weapon. But I believe that casually creating one is more effective!]

"Huh?" The Flügel had stopped.

The blonde girl's lips were slightly parted as she was watching her meaningfully.

"I'm listening.. What happened next? What did you do?"

Was she actually listening? She wasn't.

But, fortunately, Jibril wasn't part of the Skipping lore Faction. She was quite familiar with most of the plot before she had transmigrated.

Lumine sighed softly, but gently continued. "And just like that, the god took away my brother. Some kind of seal was cast upon me, and I lost my power. So while we used to travel from world to world, we are now trapped here.. How many years ago was that? I don't know… but I intend to find out. After I awoke, I was wandering all alone, until I met Paimon two months ago."

Regarding the god Lumine spoke of, Jibril of course knew who she was.

The Sustainer of the Heavenly Principles and one of the Four Shades — Asmoday.

She is perhaps one of the few strongest beings in the current world. Second only to the Heavenly Principles who is a god above the Seven Archons and Shades.

But... Jibril wasn't panicking at all!

There's nothing that one Heavenly Strike can't solve. If it's not able to then just go full power!

Besides, it's not like it would have to be a fight to the death. Right? But what if… Jibril gazed over at Paimon, her cross-shaped pupils flickering even brighter, like flowing, scorching magma.

Paimon: I feel like I'm being stared at by something scary!

"I see... Unfortunately I'm sorry, Lumine, I don't know the god you're talking about or do I know the Anemo Archon," Jibril replied dejectedly. "If only I could remember more…"

"It's alright, Jibril! There's no need to apologize for these things..."

Yes, Jibril was not only too lazy to listen but also gave a highly classic excuse. "I can't remember."

She wasn't even willing to think further, and the kind Traveler didn't refute her at all.

The System spat furiously.[You such a scum!]

'Then what do you want me to do! Why don't you just make me broadcast Before Sun and Moon to the entire world?'

[I don't care! I want to see blood!!]

Ignoring the System's annoying shouting. Jibril retracted her right hand, making a loose fist as she extending it toward Lumine.

"Here Lumine. A gift for you."

Jibril's right hand slowly closed and a pitch-black fluid substance suddenly emerged from her palm, coiling and flowing between her fingers like a living thing.

Lumine and Paimon both widened their eyes—the substance twisted and deformed in the air, gradually solidifying and outlining the shape of a sword blade.

"This is..." Lumine unconsciously took half a step forward.

With a crisp metallic clang, the black fluid instantly solidified.

Jibril smiled and opened her palm. A longsword, entirely pitch-black with dark-gold patterns along its edge, quietly floated above her palm.

Lumine took the black sword from the girl's hand, placing her index and middle fingers together as she gently ran them over the blade.

A strange warmth spread through her fingers and subtle energy moved affectionately as she touched the sword. The sensation was like the sword was created for her.

"This weapon was created by me. It should be a lot better than... um.." The Flügel scratched her forehead sheepishly.

"Than your dull sword..."

As for why she broke the dull blade? The answer is, 'You startled me, so I had to disarm you!'

"Wow Jibril! D-Do you think you can make one for Paimon too!?" Paimon excitedly clenched her tiny fists while her white cape trembled along with the movement.

"Paimon..."

Lumine quickly glanced at Jibril beside her then over to Paimon with a hint of helplessness.

"Haha... It's fine, Lumine." The Flügel gently smiled. Her ear feathers seemed to sway unconsciously. Perhaps she was in a good mood?

Looking at those two fluffy seemingly touchable golden feathers. The hand that Lumine wasn't using to hold the sword suddenly felt restless.

Hmm… the wings also look very fluffy too.

"Paimon, the weapons created by me are very heavy. If you carry one, you won't be able to fly~"

"...I-Is that so? Then… Paimon would rather stick to flying then!"

After easily dealing with Paimon, Jibril looked at Lumine again. Signaling for her to raise the sword that's in her hand.

"Lumine, want to test it out?"

"Okay…"

Lumine gripped the hilt with both hands. The pitch-black blade showed no shine even when bathed in the warm sunlight.

She looked around and her gaze quickly locked onto a group of Slimes not far away.

These round and small slimes were gathered together, hopping around a Burning flower, looking completely harmless.

However, just as the blonde was about to rush forward, she suddenly halted.

As if thinking of something, she slightly adjusted her stance, held the sword horizontally across her chest, and softly closed her eyes.

Lumine immediately leaped into the air.

"Be Gone!"

The moment the sword was swung, a six- or seven-meter-high tornado instantly whipped up on the path in front of Lumine.

The howling tornado swept all the Slimes in its path together. Whether due to the difference between game and reality or because of Lösen. Even the Large Slimes were lifted into the air!

In just a few seconds, those slimes then turned into slime condensate.

'Well would you look at that! Is that sword not better than the dull blade?'

The Flügel who was in a better mood watching the blonde girl then instantly felt annoyed.

'Did she just do a zero-frame startup and immediately unleash her burst!? Hmph! Either way her attack was way smaller than mine. '

Then, the blonde who was holding the sword ran back.

"Thank you Jibril! It's much better than the dull blade!" Lumine seemed genuinely happy and even the slight suspicion she had felt earlier was almost gone.

"Before, after using my Burst, my body would feel uncomfortable for a while. But this time I barely felt anything..."

"Did it used to be uncomfortable before?"

Is it because... she ran out of energy and was waiting for the cooldown to finish?

"Hmm.." The blonde shook her head. "It wasn't exactly uncomfortable but more like feeling just a bit weak. Oh also Jibril, does using that ability put a burden on you?"

Jibril: She cares about me! I'm in her heart!

"Nope~ Using it is no problem for me. Of course-... Wait a moment..."

The Flügel suddenly put a finger to her lips, then signaling the two to be quiet.

A strange sound seemed to be approaching, sounding like... a very strong wind.

"I—"

Jibril abruptly spread her wings as she blocked the strong winds in front of Lumine and Paimon. Her cherry-blossom-colored hair danced with a Rainbow Halo.

High above the sky, there was a high-pitched Dragon's Roar.
