Chapter 29 - A New Little Buddy

Haru watched from the preschool gate as Ichigo bounced toward the playground, his small backpack swinging like a pendulum. It was a crisp morning, the kind where the air smelled fresh and full of promise. After last week's drama with Timmy's mean words, Haru had been on edge—extra hugs at drop-off, checking in with the teacher daily. But today, Ichigo's bright brown eyes sparkled again, wavy black hair bouncing with every excited step.

Chris stood beside him, hands in pockets, hazel eyes soft. "Look at him go. Kid's resilient."

Haru nodded, soft smile cracking his tired face. "Yeah. Ms. Park said the class talk helped. Kids curious, not cruel."

Inside the fence, Ichigo spotted a little girl with pigtails and a pink jacket, waving big. She ran over, grinning wide. "Ichigo! Play trucks?"

Ichigo beamed. "Yeah! Mia! My big truck!"

Haru raised a brow. "Mia? New friend?"

Chris chuckled. "He mentioned her yesterday—new kid, loves dinos too. Moved here last week."

They watched the two race to the sandbox, Ichigo sharing his toy dino, Mia pulling out a plastic truck. Laughter echoed—pure kid joy.

Ms. Park approached the gate. "Ohayoo! Ichigo's been a star—welcomed Mia right away. She's shy, new transfer. Your boy's helping her settle."

Haru felt pride swell. "Good to hear. After last week..."

Ms. Park nodded. "That blew over quick. Kids bounce back. Mia's parents are divorced too—similar setup. Might be good for him, seeing different families normal."

Drop-off done, Haru and Chris walked back to the car. "New friend already," Chris said, playful bump. "Our little social butterfly."

Haru grinned. "Takes after you—cheerful charm."

Afternoon pickup: Ichigo bolted out clutching a drawing—stick figures of him and Mia on swings, big smiles, "Best Friends" scrawled in crayon.

"Mia drawed with me! She likes dinos and trucks! Her mommy picks her, but no daddy today."

Haru ruffled hair. "Sounds fun, buddy. Wanna invite her playdate sometime?"

Ichigo nodded big. "Yes! With Chris too!"

Home routine kicked in: snacks, park where Ichigo "practiced" truck sounds for Mia. Dinner chatter all about new friend—Mia's pigtails, her fast running.

Bedtime, Ichigo hugged extra. "Mia said our family cool. Two daddies and mommy sometimes."

Chris tucked him in. "See? Lots of cool families."

Ichigo yawned happy, out fast.

Living room hushed, Haru poured wine. "Day went good. New friend healing last week's hurt."

Chris clinked glasses. "Yeah. Kids adapt fast. Proud of him—and us."

Warmth sparked—Chris setting glass aside, straddling lap. Lips met soft, grateful. Haru kissed back deep, hands waist, pulling flush.

Tongues brushed teasing, breaths quick. Shirts shed slow—Chris's tee lifted, Haru's yanked. Skin met hot, slim pressing medium.

Haru's mouth neck—kissing slow, nipping gentle. Chris arched, gasp breathy, grinding instinctive.

Pants undone impatient, pushed away. Bare, sweat-slick. Bodies aligned—Haru's hand wrapping firm, stroking rhythm rolls. Chris bucked, moans soft, legs tight.

Haru's free hand traced thigh, deepening friction. Pleasure coiled intense—eyes locked, hazel joyful, brown full love. Whispers: "Happy for him," Chris panted; "For us," Haru husky.

Climax shared—Chris tensing beautiful, release muffled cry. Haru followed, shuddering deep.

Tangled after, breaths evening. Chris smiled lazy. "Perfect end to good day."

Haru kissed temple. "With you? Always."

Morning: pancakes, Ichigo excited for school—"Play with Mia!" Drop-off: Mia waiting, hand-wave big. Kids hugged quick—adorable.

Teacher note: "Ichigo and Mia inseparable. Great match."

Days blurred sweet: playdates planned, Mia over once—shy giggles turning loud, parents chat easy. Ichigo's world brighter, new friend mending small hurts.

Family stronger—little buddy adding joy.
