Chapter Thirty-Four – Paranormal Realm 32

Rowan leaned back without fully realizing it.

At first, it was only a small shift, his shoulders easing, his spine relaxing after too much tension held for too long. Then warmth met his cheek, steady and solid, and his body reacted before his mind could catch up.

Nicklaus's chest was really nice.

The realization struck a second later, sharp and clear, and Rowan froze completely. His breath stalled halfway in, his muscles tensing as if he'd been caught doing something forbidden.

But Nicklaus didn't move.

Didn't stiffen. Didn't pull away.

One arm remained secure around Rowan's waist, not tight, not possessive, just there. Firm enough to remind Rowan that he wouldn't fall, that he was held whether he wanted to admit it or not. The slow, steady rise and fall beneath Rowan's cheek grounded him in a way he hadn't expected.

Damon shifted closer.

Rowan noticed the heat first. Then the weight beside him. Then.

A hand.
