Chapter 2 - Hunter x Hunter: Pokémon Master [2]

Chapter 2: Pokémon Master

Entering his hotel room, Ivan collapsed onto the bed. He had chosen the most luxurious suite, with opulent golden decorations and an incredibly comfortable mattress.

Glancing sideways at the two large suitcases of money, Ivan still found it hard to believe everything that had happened.

Not long ago, he had been at home rewatching Hunter x Hunter while playing Pokémon games.

Who would have thought that after blinking, he would find himself in this world? After some investigation, Ivan confirmed he had indeed arrived in the Hunter x Hunter world!

Logically, transmigrating into a beloved anime world should be a good thing—but this was the world of Hunter x Hunter!

As someone familiar with the series, Ivan knew exactly what kind of world this was: one where the strong prey on the weak, a genuinely high-risk environment.

In this world, strength was everything.

Monsters, rare beasts, treasures, secret treasures, magical realms, hidden territories... These sounded fascinating, but only those with sufficient power could enjoy them!

Without strength here, one could only live like an ant, with their fate completely controlled by others.

Take the Phantom Troupe, for instance—A-class criminals who had killed countless people yet remained at large.

This world had no clear distinction between good and evil, existing instead in shades of sophisticated gray.

Regardless of your background or moral standing, as long as you possessed enough power, you could live freely in this world.

Consider the famous Zoldyck family, the world's premier assassination clan. Why did no one dare challenge them? Because of their overwhelming strength.

Initially, Ivan had complained—he had been playing Pokémon games, so why couldn't he have transmigrated into the Pokémon world instead? That would have been nice too.

But here he was, stuck in this dangerous world where survival wasn't guaranteed.

Any passing Nen user who took a dislike to him could end his life in an instant.

Not to mention the world was filled with bizarre creatures and natural disasters.

Without some form of protection, dying from some strange bacteria or virus was entirely possible.

The only thing Ivan felt grateful for was that he hadn't appeared in Meteor City, but rather in an ordinary town's alleyway.

According to incomplete statistics, eight out of ten Hunter x Hunter fanfiction protagonists started in Meteor City...

After calming down, a message entered his consciousness, finally putting an end to his complaints.

[Nen Ability: Pokémon Master]

[Acquisition: Every time you arrive in a new region or participate in an event, there is a chance to trigger the opportunity to nurture a Pokémon.]

[The more famous and unique the location, the higher the probability, and the more powerful the created Pokémon will be. If you participate in the original storyline, it may increase the chance of obtaining a Pokémon.]

[Each Pokémon is an independent individual. Although fundamentally composed of Nen, each Pokémon cannot be obtained repeatedly—death means permanent disappearance.]

[Limitation: Nurturing a Pokémon requires time. The time required is random; generally, the more powerful the Pokémon, the longer it takes.]

[Training: Pokémon can gain experience points through battles. When the experience bar is full, they can advance to the next stage.]

[The more powerful the opponent, the higher the experience points gained. Some special Pokémon have alternative methods for advancement. If multiple Pokémon participate in battle together, the experience points are divided equally.]

[Limitation: Each opponent can only provide experience points once; repeated battles yield no experience.]

[Pokédex: Can identify information about anything, including Pokémon. The more mysterious the subject, the less information is available.]

[Due to being in a different world, the effects of Pokémon's skills may undergo certain changes.]

[Limitation: Aside from viewing Pokémon information, obtaining information about other things consumes a small amount of the user's Nen.]

After reading through this information completely, Ivan finally understood why he hadn't been transported to the Pokémon world—it turned out the Pokémon were waiting for him here.

It was no exaggeration to say that this was his cheat as a transmigrator.

According to this message, as long as he became a traveler, visiting various famous places or participating in the original storyline, he would have opportunities to obtain Pokémon.

Moreover, he hadn't undergone the orthodox method of opening his aura nodes; his Nen Ability had appeared naturally.

Ivan wondered if he might be like Neon in the original story—a natural Nen user?

Ivan turned his head to the other side, and the first things that caught his eye were a head of emerald-green hair and eyes as clear and sparkling as rubies.

On her chest was an irregular red crystal, while the lower part of her body was adorned with a pure white, lightweight long skirt, making her look like an elegant noble young lady.

This was none other than Gardevoir, renowned as the "Psychic Empress"!

Pokédex ability activated!

[Name: Gardevoir]

[Ability: ???]

[Attribute: ???]

[Strength: B]

[Skills: Psychic, ???, ???]

The Gardevoir before him had appeared alongside the information about Nen Abilities, much like a beginner's gift pack, so to speak.

The complete information, spanning only two short lines, looked pitifully sparse, which made Ivan thoughtful.

The strength levels in the Pokédex were categorized by letters.

Having not yet encountered other Nen Ability users, Ivan wasn't sure what level B represented in terms of strength, but it probably wasn't too bad.

Most importantly, although Pokémon appeared in the form of Nen beasts, each one was an independent entity. They didn't consume his Nen during battles but relied on their own energy.

Just like living Pokémon, their actions depended on their own stamina.

Meanwhile, Ivan's body functioned like a humanoid Poké Ball, serving only as a storage space. Pokémon could return to it to recover their expended energy.

This meant that even if Ivan didn't train or increase his Nen capacity, he could still become strong through his Pokémon.

While others had to charge into battle themselves, he only needed to be a good trainer, directing his Pokémon's actions.

The only ability that consumed his own Nen was the Pokédex ability.
