Chapter 117 - At the Leafway Restaurant (Part-1)

Anthony waved his hand and sighed. "You're really taking advantage of my weakness. I'm not doing this for those women. That's not my place. It's simply because I like you and respect your skills."

He had heard about their plight. In his view, such matters were the responsibility of the country. Still, those women were fortunate. After such suffering, they encountered people willing to help them. Misfortune had turned into a rare stroke of luck.

Raymond, who had been watching from the side, could hardly believe his ears. A few games of chess had shaved 500 pounds off the price. 500 pounds. That was like an entire year's worth of his wages.

Why had he never encountered such luck in his life?

By the time Mary finished walking through the yard and returned, she sensed the changed atmosphere immediately. Raymond moved toward her instinctively, then quickly pulled back when he heard Ryan cough.

"It's 1500," Raymond said, still a little dazed. "He's selling it for 1500 pounds."
