Meanwhile, Ryan took off his clothes and lay down first. The bed was stiff and thin, with only a single quilt covering it. He frowned slightly. It really wasn't easy for his wife to live under such harsh conditions.
Mary also removed her outer coat, quickly climbed into bed, and curled up beside him. Her eyes closed almost the moment her head touched the pillow, and she fell asleep in no time.
Ryan reached out, pulled her into his arms, and slowly drifted off as well.
At around four in the morning, Mary woke first. She nudged Ryan awake, and the two of them returned to the mindscape to call Aurelius out.
Aurelius came out wearing a face full of grievance. He complained nonstop, "How can there be people like you who bully others like this? You clearly promised to make delicious ribs, and now there's no time to honor it!"
Mary's face turned slightly red.
She really couldn't be blamed for this. If anyone was at fault, it was Ryan and his unreasonable jealousy.
