Chapter 169 - Little Christaniel's resolve

Mary shot him a glance, raised her eyebrows, and replied, "I know. I'm coming."

Her appetite was not great that morning. She only ate one bowl of porridge before setting down her spoon.

Kristen and the child, on the other hand, ate quite a lot. The night before, Kristen had talked at length with her son about their future life. The child was unusually sensible, promising that when they moved, he would learn to take care of himself and not trouble her anymore. Her heart had completely relaxed after that conversation, and with her mood lightened, her appetite returned as well.

Ryan drank two bowls of porridge before putting down his spoon. "Wife, I'll head to the unit first," he said. "If anything happens, you must tell me."

Mary nodded. She understood the meaning behind his words. If anything out of the ordinary occurred, she would contact him through her thoughts.
