Chapter 173 - Causing ruckus at the factory

Clifford stared at him, his expression grave and filled with disappointment. "Steven," he said slowly, "you're not a three-year-old child. Is it meaningful to go back on your word now? You treated your divorce like a transaction and even demanded money from your wife. Now you still want more? You're a grown man. I feel ashamed for you."

Because the office door hadn't been closed tightly, quite a few people had gathered outside. Clifford's words carried clearly into the corridor, and the listeners instantly pricked up their ears. Murmurs spread rapidly through the crowd.

No one had expected Steven's shamelessness to reach such a level. He had already taken a thousand pounds yesterday, an amount that ordinary couples with steady jobs could only save after scrimping and saving for five years. 

And now, he was actually dissatisfied and coming back to ask for more. This completely shattered everyone's understanding of him.

"Did I hear that right?" someone whispered.
